WINNER revealed their thoughts about Team B.

WINNER (Kang Seungyoon, Song Minho, Nam Taehyun, Kim Jinwoo, Lee Seunghoon) were at the Seoul Songpa-Gu Bangi-dong Olympic Center in which the live broadcast of YG Entertainment’s survival program, Mnet “WHO IS NEXT” took place. As YG’s new boy group, WINNER won over Team B (B.I, Kim Jinhwan, Bobby, Song Yoonhyung, Goo Junhoe, and Kim Donghyuk).

On August 23, the first broadcast was aired. After the long 2 months, the final stage of ‘WIN’ was broadcasted live for 2 hours. On that day WINNER and Team B competed with the ‘same track, different arrangement’ battle, dance battle, and a self-composed battle. They prepared 3 sets of stages and the one with the higher points would be crowned the new boy group from YG, WINNER, after 8 years.

On that day before MC Daesung revealed the WINNER, Kang Seungyoon, Song Minho, Nam Taehyun, Bobby, Kim Jinhwan, and more of the members of WINNER and Team B could do nothing to stop their flow of tears. They warmly embraced each other during the time as they cried and the WIN recording turned into a sea of tears.

During the final battle, the victorious Team A will be making their debut around late December or early January with the name, ‘WINNER’. On the other hand, YG Entertainment’s representative Yang Hyun Suk is still in the process of thinking whether or not Team B will be going through member replacement or not. However, nothing has been decided and they are still steadily practicing. Many fans of Team B are very curious about their situation.

In contrary, the WINNER’s leader Kang Seungyoon met up with Newsen on the afternoon of November 1 and revealed that they are still practicing as usual at YG Entertainment after ending the WIN battle. He also revealed that they have been practicing along with Team B as well.

Kang Seungyoon said, “After the final battle ended, all I could think about was comforting the Team B members because my heart was hurting. But rather than comforting them in-depth continuously, I thought it was better to genuinely cheer them in my heart. We are brightly smiling and joking around with each other.” He continued, “The Team B kids are bright and well just like how they were before. We also treat each other as usual.”

The WINNER members confessed that after the reveal of their win they felt very delicate and sensitive about the situation. Song Mino said, “When they called Team A as the winner, more than being happy about being called the winner, my apologetic heart towards Team B was much greater.” He continued, “The moment the winning team was announced I felt as though the long process and the hardships we went trough this ‘WIN’ battle flashed before me.” He confessed, “Because those memories kept coming up, my heart became faint. Being so immersed in these mixed emotions, without myself knowing, I just kept crying.”

The WINNER’s first actual experience will be the opening act for the group, “BIG BANG” Dome Tour in Japan this coming November and December. Since they are still a group who hasn’t debuted yet, it is a huge and shocking stride forward.

About this WINNER replied, “Honestly we are still a group who hasn’t debuted yet. As a rookie group and being able to go on stage at the Dome Tour is outrageous.” He continued modestly, “We are always very thankful for our seniors.” 

Finally, Leader Kang Seungyoon said, “I feel like we are eating rice from a spoon Big Bang Seniors has prepared for us. It’s a very big honour. But we believe this will be a great experience for us. Later on we would also like to be able to achieve our own Dome Tour stage.” He revealed his hopes for the future, “With that wish in mind, I will work hard.”
