Human

Breath of Life
I began to make myself get used to having to physically leave Sehun but mentally I just couldn't stay away from him. It's been a few good weeks and I should be used to it by now, I mean school is going to start soon. I should be prepared at this point but my emotions were still all over the place. While I was distracted with my thoughts I was finishing up drying my damped hair. I place my towel away and my phone begins to ring, cutting out my worries.

Yixing's caller ID appeared and I didn't hesitate to answer. "Hey" I smile

"Hey," He pauses "How are you feeling?"

"I still don't know how to answer that." I lightly tease "I actually don't want to make this conversation about Sehun. I don't think it helps the situation."

"Talking is a great way to vent." He adds "It's better to express how you feel than to keep it all bottled up, then it wont help the situation."

Positive thinking...It's been a while since I've been that way. I couldn't help but wonder where that girl went.

"You're right but I honestly don't feel like talking about it right now."

There was a long pause between us and I hoped I didn't offend him. I know he's just trying to help but I don't need that right now, I just needed a miracle.

"Would you be up for some frozen yogurt?" He breaks the silence

My eyebrows scrunch "Is Lin still down here?"

"She flew back last week."

I check the time and it was 2:23 in the evening. Dinner with everyone at Sehun's doesn't start until 5:00 so I think I can squeeze desert before. It's been a while since I've hung out with Yixing and he's been nothing but a great friend. Maybe he needs someone right now too. I at least owe him a few minutes of my time. I'm sure Sehun will understand.

"If you have to be with Sehun, go" He speaks softly

"No, it's okay. I don't have to meet up with him until later."

"Are you sure? I don't want to ruin your plans."

I lowly chuckle to myself, plans...it's been a while since I've ever made one.

"Where should I meet you Zhang Yixing?"

I sat in the spot Lay and I once did when we were here at Cheonggyecheon. The only difference was that it was day time. As I waited it felt like summer was coming to an end as the air began to get a little chilly. Luckily the sun was on my side and kept me warm.

"Hayoung" I turned over to the direction where I recognized the voice.

Lay had two bowl cups in his hands and I stood up to take mine. I thanked him and when I realized I was standing in front of him, I wasn't sure what to do after. I didn't know if I should hug him or just sit back down.

He wasn't aware of it but he helped me answer my question. Looks like we'll be sitting down.

"It's getting chilly" He smiles and places his one free hand inside his jacket. "I was hoping it'd be hot."

I nod as I move my spoon around. "That's how you know school is right around the corner. Summer is officially over."

He doesn't respond back, he sits there looking around at the people walking around the stream river. He finally takes a spoonful of his yogurt. I couldn't help but to have memories of us hanging out here before, in a strange way the vibe made it feel like that again.

"So, catch me up" I put my attention on him "What's new with you?"

He shakes his head "Nothing. I'd just fly back to China whenever I have the chance."

"Your parents let you?"

He nods "Yeah but they don't really like it."

"How come?" I ask before having some of my frozen mango flavored yogurt, topped with all my favorite fruits.

"They're just being parents." He smiles "My brother is actually moving back, he finds it hard living here. He really wants to continue his studies at Zhejiang University. That's his dream school so I don't blame him."

"Well, good for him." I smile back

"I'm debating if I should too."

Wait...what is he talking about?

"But, what about K-Arts?"

"I still plan on going, I mean I hope I get accepted. But, if not I'm just going to move back."

I shake my head in confusion "Why would you do that?"

He squirms in his spot "Lin...she wants to get back together."

His response made me unsure how to ask him the next question.

"I mean" He adds "Surprisingly she is a lot more supportive with K-Arts, she even planned how to work everything out. She said we'd take turns visiting over the weekends. She's way more open to the long distance relationship."

"Do you really want to get back with her?" I carefully asked.

"It's still a process though. We've been taking it really slow. That's why I'm considering moving back if things don't work out for me here."

I was worried for Yixing, I've heard once someone cheats on a person, it's most likely for it to happen again. I definitely don't want that for him. Even though I don't know how Lin's personality is, based on the time I met her she seemed nice. I shouldn't judge her but if she did it once, how can he not be concerned she'll do it again?

I pause "I mean, aren't you worried that she did cheat on you."

He nods "Yeah, but everyone deserves second chances. I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. I'm not saying I trust her completely but I'm also not going to hold it against her. You know, out of all the things she did right, why am I going to choose the one mistake she did over all good ones she's done. I chose to forgive her."

His words touched my heart. I don't think anyone else would have been able to convince me about the decision to forgive someone after being cheated. I can however relate about second chances. It might not be the same case for me but I was willing to give Sehun another chance, I never gave up on him and Yixing isn't giving up on Lin.

When his eyes meet mine, I couldn't help but to grin. "How does someone like you exist? Are you even real?" We both chuckle "Seriously, you are amazing Yixing...you have such a strong impact on people's lives. Lin is one lucky girl."

"I think I'm the lucky one." His dimple appears "If it wasn't for you, it wouldn't have been as easy to give Lin a second chance. When you decided to get back with Sehun, it just showed how much you really love him. Lin came back to me, it must be for that same reason."

"Well," I smile and get a spoonful of fruit and frozen yogurt "I hope things work out for you." I put the spoon in my mouth and savor the taste. I meant every word, whatever plans were set for him I just hope nothing but the best.

I rushed up the second floor towards Sehun's room. I could hear everyone laughing and it caused me to smile. When I walk in, it was like it has been the past few weeks. We've all been spending our nights here, enjoying our time with him since he can't go out as much.

"ing eat it!" Chanyeol playfully shouts at Kai.

When I get closer I notice a bowl of mixed things all in one. It did not look appetizing at all.

"What's going on?" I ask openly to anyone who wanted to answer

Saerin laughs "I brought food, thinking it was my turn to buy food but turns out everyone else thought so. So Sehun thought it'd be funny if we all mixed the different food and add other random things to it."

"So why does Kai have to eat it?" I chuckle

"Rock, paper, scissors." Tao smiles

"You guys cheated" He blurts out "I know you did. How the do you all get scissors and I'm the only one to get paper?"

Sehun chuckles weakly "You've put something in your mouth a lot worse than that."

Kai points at Sehun "You promised not to ing mention that again"

"I didn't" He defends himself "If you don't, I will tell them."

Chanyeol widens his eyes "You kept something from me?"

"Only because I knew you wouldn't shut the up about it."

The boys kept bickering about it and it eventually made Kai just take the bowl and get a big mouthful of whatever nasty stuff was mixed together. Tao teasingly pretended to sound grossed out and Sehun playfully gagged.

I couldn't stop giggling as I saw how hard Kai was trying to keep a straight face. He kept chewing for a good minute but it didn't take long for him to spit it out.

" that" He uses his wrist to cover his mouth

"I got an idea" Saerin chimes "Whoever can't finish their bite a secret of theirs has to be exposed. The person taking the bite can't say their own, yeah?"

Everyone agrees but I shook my head, thinking how silly they all are. I took my original spot on Sehun's bed and cuddled up next to him while everyone preoccupied themselves with their game.

"Where were you?" He asks

I couldn't lie to him. "I wanted to catch up with Yixing. I felt bad for not being a good friend to him."

"He doesn't think of you as a friend."

I lightheartedly smile "He's working things out with his ex-girlfriend."

"Was she there?"

I chuckle "No, but––"

"How is he working things out when he's with someone else's girlfriend?"

My grin grew bigger "I thought you don't get jealous?"

"It's called common sense" He smiles

"Just admit it" I poke his side "You get jealous."

"Whatever you say Cheon."

"No," I chuckle "Say it."

"" Our attention goes to Chanyeol

He lost the round and Kai began to clap excitedly. He wasn't successful at finishing whatever was in his mouth and Kai began to get excited, ready to expose his friend's secret.

"Chanyeol es in case Saerin doesn't put out."

Everyone laughs as I smiled. Saerin wraps her arms around Chanyeol.

"I'm sorry" She chuckles realizing that she probably has been teasing him way too much than he could handle.

"So It's going to be like that Kai?" His big smile exposing his teeth.

I knew this game was barely starting and it was bound to get messy. But, if it entertained Sehun than I had no problem watching how far they all go with each other's secrets. As long as he kept smiling.

He turns to look at me "You know I love you right?" I nod "So, don't get all sensitive when I bring this up." I nod again as a reassurance that I won't "You can date anyone whenever you feel ready...except him."

My grin slowly decreased but was still planted on my face. "Okay" I reply softly

He winks at me and puts his attention back to everyone who kept shouting and laughing. I felt myself get emotional but I fought off the tears that were beginning to build up and pushed them back down. I wasn't going to let the idea of him not being here affect this precious moment I have. Instead I focused on how cute he was in the way he admitted his jealousy.
