Before:

I fell in love with a boy who lived a few blocks away from where I did. We went to the same school, practically grew up together because our parents were the best of friends.

This boy was my everything. I lived and breathed him, even though he most probably never saw me as anything else but a little kid. I thought about him all the time, every day, noon and night. Even when I told myself I wouldn't think about him anymore, I did.

Then he became my best friend. He finally noticed me. I knew our relationship would go nowhere past friendship though; I knew probably the whole female population adored him like I did...but that didn't stop me from liking him. He was my golden boy, after all.

After:

He left three years later. That was three years I got to spend with him, just the two of us as best friends, like a super hero and his sidekick. That was three years of him fooling around and three years of me picking up his slack. That was fine because we were friends. But when he left me without notice, I did mind. It felt like my heart got ripped out of my chest. I felt like dying.

I don't have time to think about that though, and I don't need to. Now, there's a new love in my life and her name is Hana.
