It’s been two days.

        Two. ing. Days!

        Indeed. Kris had been keeping Nina locked up in the room for two whole days. Since there was a bathroom attached to the room, Nina wasn’t worried about being locked up inside a room when she was in need of an emergency release. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were brought up to her by a maid who never made eye contact with her. That Kris dude must’ve threatened her so she’d ignore me.

        However, instead of feeling like she’s been abducted and locked up like a prisoner, Nina actually find it quite comforting. At first. Aside from the joint bathroom, there was an LCD TV placed inside the room, a DVD player and a whole stack of DVDs to choose from. Due to her busy working schedules these past few days, Nina couldn’t help but feel that Kris was actually doing her a favor.

        But then she had grown bored since she’s the type of girl who’d rather be locked outdoors instead of indoors. Now that she feels refresh, she wants nothing but to get out of the room and even the house! But Kris Wu was nowhere to be seen. She did lots of banging on the wall, the door and even threatening the maid (who still avoids eye contacts) to get the man so she could talk to him. But the maid ignored her and went off with her duties.

        Muttering profanities under her breath, Nina grabbed a pillow and hugged it to her chest. Her eyes were glued to the TV but yet her mind was imagining herself throwing darts at her kidnapper’s tall figure. She was so lost in her own thoughts that she failed to realize someone unlocking the door and entering the room. She jumped when she saw a shadow move from the corner of her eyes and turned her head to the figure standing by the door.

        “I’m sorry to have scared you.”

        It was Kris’ bodyguard, Tao. Nina had heard Kris yelling his name when he was somewhere close outside and knew immediately that it belonged to the tall, scary looking Chinese dude who had been responsible in directly kidnapping her. She unwillingly shivered under his stare and tried hard to avoid eye contacts.

        Tao, on the other hand, raised an eyebrow and smirked in amusement at the sight of Nina recoiling before him. She’s a beauty, Tao decided. No wonder Kris is acting like a total moron. Seeing how Nina slightly trembled under his intense stare, Tao soften his gaze and softly cleared his throat.

        “Ms. Kim, my name is Huang Zitao and I am Kris’ bodyguard,” he introduced himself. He watched as Nina slowly lifted his gaze at him before giving him a slight nod. “I was just wondering how you’ve been coping.”

        Tao watched in amusement as the girl’s face turned red as she gripped onto the pillow on her lap tighter. If Tao knew any better, he’d think that she was mentally strangling Kris in anger.

        “Ms. Kim?”

        “Where is he?” she asked with an angry tone. “How can he keep me locked up inside this goddamn room for two days straight?! And what about my work? I’m sure my colleagues are looking for me since I didn’t apply for any leave. My boss would surely call the police if he can’t find me at my apartment.”

        Tao smirked at her attempt of scaring and threatening him. He finds the girl before him very amusing and funny instead of scary like how she wanted to be. Not to mention…cute. When he caught her glaring at him, Tao struggled to keep his pokerface on when he actually felt like running to her and pinching her cheeks.

        “I’m sorry, Ms. Kim. But Kris is currently out of town…”

        “What?!”

        “…and about your work, we called in and applied leave for you.”

        “B-but how?”

        “Simple. Kris himself had called them and they approved your leave almost immediately.”

        Tao watched as Nina frowned deeply on the bed. She looks like a lost puppy… When she looked up again, he could detect the confusion in her eyes.

        “How? I mean, how did the guy simply do something as he please like that? I’m sure my boss wouldn’t approve it unless it was me who came and applied for it.”

        Tao chuckled and shook his head at the clueless woman. “I'm guessing you don’t know who Kris is, Ms. Kim. Cause I doubt you’d do what you did three weeks ago if you knew who he was.”

        “Don’t know what?”

        “Who Kris actually is.”

        “And who is he?”

        “Does Wu Empire ring a bell?”

        Nina felt like as if the world had just crumbled down on her. The words that had just left Tao’s lips made her feel like she was about to die. Her mind was whirling around, trying to find something to hold on while her heart felt like it had stopped beating as an after-effect. Nina felt like laughing at Tao’s joke but upon a glimpse at his face, Nina felt like crying instead.

        Wu Empire – the largest shipping company in Korea that deals with every other countries from across the globe. The business had even expended itself to other business opportunities such as opening up a fashion company in America and a mall in Europe. It’s one of the biggest, most powerful companies known to all businessmen and women, and is well respected for its business ethics. It’s so powerful and prestigious that the empire is capable of powering over another company and bringing it down to the ground, including the publishing company she works in.

        Here’s the best part: Kris Wu is its next heir.

        “Ms. Kim?”

        “T-that’s impossible…” Nina could only say, her voice somewhere above whisper.

        “Ms. Kim-“

        “How is he the Kris Wu from Wu Empire?” Nina gasped in horror. “How the hell did I not recognize him that day? What the hell did I just do??”

        “Ms. Kim, please calm down.” Tao said as he watched the girl panic in her seat. “I-“

        “I’m dead. The company’s dead. I just messed with the Wu. How could I not recognize his name upon mention?!”

        Tao sighed and scratched his head. “I’ll be going out,” he said but he doubted that she had heard him. He quickly bolted out the room and locked the door after him. Before he could even take a step, he heard a long scream coming from inside the room before it was muffled by something.

        “That was scary…” he shuddered.
