The Wedding Breaker

The Wedding Breaker
*this is a double update. Do read the previous chapter before this one :)

Nina took her time to descent the stairs. Her eyes wandered along the few frames of pictures hanging by the wall. Pictures of sceneries filled them all and she was at awe at the beauty of each one of it. There was a photo of a sun setting at what seems to be the beach, making her stop in her tracks. The beauty of it managed to catch her breath away and she stared at it, forgetting the reason why she was descending the stairs at the first place.

        "Kris took it."

Her head snapped up the stairs and she involuntarily blushed as her eyes met Tao's. The scene from earlier this morning crept into her head. Looking down at her feet, she blushed even harder. Cut the crap, Nina. Stop embarrassing yourself in front of the panda looking guy. She lifted her face again to see him but Tao wasn't paying attention to her.

"Kris took this picture," he repeated while his eyes were fixed on it. "It's one of his hobbies."

"Oh..." was all Nina could say. Looking at the next photo of a waterfall, Nina couldn't help but ask. "And this too?"

"Let's just say that all the photos hung on the walls were photographed by him."

Wow. "Which beach is this?" she asked, looking back at the other photo. "It's beautiful and so breathtaking."

Tao finally turned to her and she spotted a smile on his face. "I'll show you," he replied and gestured her to continue descending the steps. She obliged and waited at the bottom of the staircase to let him walk pass her and lead the way.

As she tagged behind him, her eyes wandered around the exterior of the room. The living room was designed so simply yet it was still beautiful to her eyes. As they walked pass the kitchen, she couldn't help but love it. It was small but it felt homey. I wonder how it's like to cook in this kitchen.

"Now that Kris is letting you out of the room, you're free to walk around the house." Tao suddenly said as he stopped in his tracks. He had seen the linger of her eyes and knew what she was thinking. "You could also use the kitchen as you please."

"Really?" Nina asked in surprise. "He's really letting me out of the room?"

"The room," he confirmed. "...but not the house."

        "Oh..."

"Come." Tao said as he led her to a sliding door just the opposite of the kitchen. He slid open the door and gestured her outside first before following behind her.

Nina gasps. Her eyes blinked in surprise. She was staring at the sea. Yes, there's a beach behind Kris' house. There's a freaking beach all these while?!

        "How..." she whispered in awe.

"The room we placed you in is sound proof and it was also facing the front yard." Tao explained. "That's why you can't neither hear the sound of the waves nor see it."

Nina nodded her head slowly as she continued to stare at the sight before her. Since it was still in the morning, the sun was up shining brightly but the rays were shaded by the awning(?) of the small veranda. The sight was so beautiful that it made her speechless and the fact that she hadn't seen the sun for three days took its toll.

"It's so beautiful." Nina muttered before turning to the male beside her. "Where are we?"

"We're at Kris' beach house. I can't say where or Kris will definitely kill me."

At the mention of his name, Nina frowned. Tao realized and chuckled. "Are you alright, Ms. Kim?"

"Why do you call him by his name? Isn't he your boss?" she asked before she pinked when Tao raised an eyebrow. "I'm sorry."

Tao chuckled. "It's fine, Ms. Kim. I-"

        "Nina."

        "Pardon?"

        "Call me Nina."

"Alright. Do you know my name though?"

"I heard him call you Tao?"

"That's my name," the male smiled.

Nina couldn't help but smile at him in return. "Nice meeting you, Tao."

"You too, Nina. Though I have to say we had quite a bad start," he said sheepishly, referring to the fact that he was the one who had kidnapped her.

        Or so to speak.

Nina chuckled. "It's fine. I guess I deserve it."

"Is that why you're not really fighting us?" Tao asked.

        Nina nodded.

"Well, I'm sorry for all the trouble we've caused you but we wouldn't have done it if you hadn't...well, you know what you did." Tao said with a chuckle.

Nina sighed. "Yeah, I know. Like I said, I deserved it." She turned to her new friend and slightly titled her head to the side. "What is he planning to do with me though?"

Tao shrugged. "I have no idea and I doubt he does too."

"What?" Nina frowned. "Is he trying to punish me by locking me up here?"

        "Possibly."

Nina sighed once more and shifted her gaze back to the beach. "You haven't answered my question though," she suddenly said, not caring if she was invading any privacy if it was.

        "Which one is it?"

"Why do you call him by his name? He's your boss, right?"

Tao chuckled and nodded his head. "Yes, he is. But he's a friend too. A mentor."

        "He is?"

"Just a few years. I've known him since high school."

"I see." Nina nodded. "Hey Tao?"

        "Yes?"

"When do you think he'll let me leave? I have a life outside too. My job, my family."

"But I thought you're an orphan?" Tao asked before mentally cursing himself. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"

"It's fine. I lost my mother, but I still have my dad." Nina said with a small smile.

        "I see."

"But he won't be looking for me though. So I guess it's fine if I'm missing. He won't notice. But as for my job..."

"Kris applied for a week leave for you and since your boss, Kim Suho, is a friend of his, he managed to get things cleared easily." Tao said.

"Mr. Kim is friends with Kris Wu? Why am I acting surprised here?"

        Tao laughed. "They're good friends."

"Still, Kris can't apply a leave for me when we aren't acquinted. Only the employee can." Nina frowned. "But with Kris' power, I'm sure everything went his way huh?"

"Well..." Tao nervously chuckled while rubbing his nape. "Mr. Kim didn't allow it at first.."

"But?" Nina asked, eyes squinting as she eyed the panda.

        "Krissaidheisyourboyfriend."

        "What?"

Tao sighed. "Kris. Said. He. Is. Your. Boyfriend."

        Silence.

        HE DID WHAT?!

"Sooyoung, I want the schedule to be on my desk in one hour."

        "Yes, Mr. Wu."

        "Good. You may leave now."

Kris watched as his secretary, Sooyoung, walked out of his office and immediately laid back in his chair as soon as she closed the door behind her. He closed his eyes and rubbed his temple with a sigh before proceeding to loosen the knot of his tie. As Wu Empire's CEO, he had to handle so many things regarding their business. The internal conflict he was having added more to the stress.

He then turned his chair around and faced the huge glass window overlooking the city. He let his mind wander back to his beach house where Nina was. He recalled their early make out session and groaned in frustration. (I was this close and that stupid panda had to ruin everything.)

A knock on his door made Kris frown and turn his chair back to its original position. The door opened and a tall male with a huge grin on his face appeared at the doorway. Kris sighed and rubbed his temple as the tall guy made his way into his office.

"Ayo waddup Kreaseeee??" the male greeted him with his deep, loud voice and a wide grin. Kris glared at him and the grin immediately disappeared from his face. "Err, you got a minute?"

        "What is it, Chanyeol?"

Chanyeol took a seat at the opposite of him and kept his gaze on the other male. Instead of talking, he placed a finger under his chin and seemed to be in deep thought as he eyed the male. Kris soon grew agitated and gritted his teeth.

"Park Chanyeol, you came here to stare at me or is there something you want to talk about?"

"Why? Can't I just come to visit my best friend?" Chanyeol asked, his grin back on his face.

        "What do you want, Chanyeol?"

"Why are you so y? Oh wait, you're always like this." Kris rolled his eyes. "And you always roll your eyes like Baekhyun whenever I talk."

"Let's just say your cousin and I have the same thoughts regarding you." Kris scoffed.

        "What thoughts?"

"Damn it, Yeol. Can't you get to the point already?"

Chanyeol scoffed. "Tao's right. You're getting y eversince the wedding crashed."

Kris tensed in his seat and it didn't go unnoticed by the younger male. Chanyeol smirked and leaned forward in his chair. "What's this I hear about you kidnapping a girl, Kris?"

        you, Tao.

"And not just any girl." Chanyeol chuckled. "Is this true, Mr. Wu?"

"What the do you want, Chanyeol?" Kris asked through gritted teeth.

"The question here, Kris, is what the do you want? Why the bloody hell did you kidnap that girl and locked her at your beach house? I supposed that's why you haven't been home for days."

"How'd you know that?" Kris asked but immediately regretted it when he saw the smirk on the other's face.

"Your mom called me. She thinks you're depressed after what happened." Chanyeol said with a mocking expression.

        "My mom called you?"

"Duh. She always calls me. Don't get me wrong, I like it that she pays attention to me since my mother was too much of a to bother about me, but it annoys me sometimes." Chanyeol rambles. "There's this one time she called me when I was in the toilet and there was another time she called while I was having wi-"

"I don't want to hear it!" Kris said as he rubbed his temple with a disgusted face.

Chanyeol chuckled. "She's messing with your head, isn't she?"

        "My mom?"

        "The girl, ."

        Kris sighed. "Yeah."

"Wow, I wonder who she really is. Tao gave me a good impression of her, and seeing you all ed up like this grew my curiousity. She must be one hell of a girl to have messed the Almighty Kris' head. And also his wedding."

You mean one hell of a kisser and a tease.

"You're hiding something from me, aren't you?" Chanyeol guessed. "Spill it, Kris."

        "Why should I?"

"Cause I'm your best friend and you can't live without me." Kris snorted at this. "Yah, I dare you to say otherwise."

"I CAN live without you, Chanyeol." Kris teased with a raised eyebrow. He laughed when Chanyeol frowned and pouted. He leaned forward and rested his elbows on his desk. "I'm just messing with ya, Yeol."

"ing hurting my ing feelings," the younger muttered not so quietly, earning another fit of laughter from the blonde.

"I thought I heard a conceited dragon's laughter in here," a voice said from the door. The two turned and saw a deer-eyed male leaning by the door with his arms crossed over chest. He wore a smirk on his handsome face as his eyes glint playfully at their direction.

"Hey, Luhan." Chanyeol greeted Kris' right hand man with a thrilled grin on his face, making Kris wonder if he was the same, upset looking giant from earlier.

"Hey, Yeol." Luhan said as he made his way to them. "What are you doing here?"

"Interrogating the Almighty Dragon here." Chanyeol replied with a smirk and a knowing look.

Luhan looked curious as he stood behind his chair and rested his gaze at Kris' stoned face. The latter sighed and pretended to be busy checking his phone while Luhan took a seat next to Chanyeol, eyes still on him.

"Okay, what's up?" Luhan asked no one in particular. Chanyeol chuckled and pointed at Kris.

        "Ask him."

you and your next generation, Chanyeol.

"Kris?" Luhan asked, looking at him with a demanding gaze.

        Kris sighed.
