“I’m going up to the library.”  I stood up from the table once I was finished.

D.O looked over at me from his spot across the table from me, “Have you eaten enough?”  I gave him a soft smile at his worry and reassured him I was more than full.

Ever since we got back we spent the time resting in the backyard and chatting.  Lay would keep making sure I was doing all right, the others would also check in with how I was feeling.  Each time I assured them I was doing fine and that there was nothing for them to worry about.

Over the past few days I have used my energy up more than ever before.  First with the containment of the Warrior that almost succeeded in destroying a large part of the Academy, and second with the shocking understanding that I could wield multiple aspects of my Ability at one time.  I can’t use the power I have to an unlimited level, I have a certain amount of energy I can use before I am depleted and pass out from exhaustion.  I would just have to work with that, though.

I grabbed the journal I left at my bedside as I went up to the library to read through another entry.  The last one was surprising and shocking to learn so much about their past and what they were like before they came to become Warriors.

It was going to be hard to read what they had to do to lead themselves to achieve this fate of theirs currently.  I know pieces from some of them, but never the full story of exactly what they did to get the curse they carry.

I knew they did terrible things; they have not hidden that from me.  But the true nature of everything they did is a mystery to me still, at this point.  They will open up to me eventually, but this will help me learn a little about them on my own.

I would see their past from a different perspective, one that had a direct relation to me.

It was weird to think of it that way.  The fact that I shared a blood relation to the person who wrote this journal and lived along side my precious boys is a strange concept to wrap my mind around.

Tucking my legs under me I placed the journal on my folded knees and rested back in the chair.  I brushed my hand across the leather binding before gently opening the book and carefully flipping the pages to the next entry where I had left off.

Nineteenth Black Moon, after the Full Flower Moon.

I saw my brothers again today.  I could see the crazed look in their eyes, the stacks of Cards they possessed.  At least a hundred each they possessed if I had to take a guess at what I was seeing they had.

I can vividly recall the encounter.  I was with my Warriors in the field; we were out farming the land.  With powers of the earth, I have been with them here in the village I was born and raised working the lands with their aid since this all happened.  I have lived a calm, peaceful life with these beings by my side.  I help where I can and keep this world a secret.

We keep this a secret, but our lives are more than different.  The twelve of them approached me as I was turning the soil with simple flicks of my wrist.  They told me of what they have accomplished since we last saw one another twelve moons ago.

I can remember the exact words and actions of us all:

“You need to stop this!  You’re going to do something that you will regret and suffer for if you keep this up!”  I said to them.  I could see the way they have changed and how it was affecting them.  If they did not stop soon, they would destroy their lives.

“Nothing is wrong with what we are doing, JiHoon.  You’re just jealous that you can’t have the kind of power we have.”   Kai snapped at me when I tried to instill reason in them.  I do not want the power they have, what I already possess is more than I ever want.

“Just because you’re afraid of this power doesn’t mean we are.”   Baekhyun sneered, fire dancing in his eyes.

I had to make them stop this insanity they have caused.  “Do you not see what this is doing to you?  You are not that same anymore.”

“JiHoon, don’t you get it yet?  We were given this ability so we could do this.  This power was given to us for a reason, and this is it.  We can do anything we want now.”  Luhan boasted.  They all let out proud laughter at what they have done.

“Why don’t you join us, JiHoon, it isn’t too late to have the same power we have.”  Kris offered.  I couldn’t help but feel sick at his words as he spoke them.  I want none of what they have, I would rather not be a part of this world if this is what it turns out to be abou

Chapter 11: Heyy, i dont know if you know already but fhere is a fic that practically plagiarized your entire writing. The only difference is the mc background and the card appearance order. But the timeline and many sentences are the exact same. Here is the link https://www.asianfanfics.com/story/view/1331812/descended-fromthe-stars

Chapter 23: Hi Wynter~!
It’s been awhile and I hope that you’re doing well. I’ve noticed since all of the craziness that’s been happening that lots of people are reverting back to the things that brought them comfort when they were younger. This chapter reminded me of that and I wanted to say that this fic of yours is definitely something I truly hold near and dear to my heart.

It reminds me of simpler times in middle school and high school and all the times I’ve read this to escape reality. Your story brings me comfort and joy each and every time. Throughout college I’ve been trying to re-read this from the beginning whenever I can (I’m probably on attempt three or four now? Lol), but I never really had enough time to due to school. As I’m trying to read every single chapter again, I just wanted to say how thankful and grateful I am to you for creating this story. I and many others have thoroughly enjoyed it over the years, and will continue to for many more.

You are truly an amazing and talented writer, and it’s admirable how you can create worlds and bring this much happiness to so many people with your words. It’s crazy to see how much things have changed (for EXO) since the beginning chapters, but that’s just part of life haha. I sincerely wish and hope you’re doing well and that you’re taking care of yourself. Much love <3
