Red Skys and Royal Cards“We need to get the hell away from them before they notice us and realize that we belong to Sky.” I hissed to the three boys with me. “We have to get out of here, fast and without being noticed.”
“If we walk past them they will see us no questions.” Xiumin growled. “We’re stuck here until they leave.”
! I cursed to myself, slumping in the seat I was in now stranded in this café until those three Royals leave. And right now all I can do is hope that they don’t turn around and give us that attention that we are giving them. If they figure out who we are, there is a lot that can and will go wrong.
I’d been watching them since they stepped into the café a few moments before the time Sky was supposed to meet with the mystery messenger. They kept to themselves, found a decently isolated spot to sit that conveniently have perfect view of the door, and would glace around the place every few minutes as if waiting for someone. The longer they remained here the antsier I became, even more so when the realization they were Royals fell upon us.
I was uncomfortable just sitting here without knowing if they posed any danger to my brothers and I. If something happened we have no way to protect ourselves because of all the humans around, we can’t risk exposure.
Searching through the voices around me I tried to pinpoint the mental thoughts of the three Royals a few meter from us. Shutting my eyes I tried to concentrate to really locate them, I should be able to feel their minds as I reach out for them where they are sitting, but can’t find anything.
I can’t feel their mind’s presence there, I can’t get a location on them even when I know where I need to search for them. I could find the blocked minds of Xiumin, Kai and Tao as well as the minds of the humans around us, but the minds of the Royals were nonexistent. It was as if they weren’t even there, as if they didn’t exist. Yet I could see them sitting there when I opened my eyes, it was their minds that seemed not to exist.
Something was blocking me, and it couldn’t be their walls they put up, I would be able to sense those like I can with the boys and Sky. This wasn’t something anyone should be capable of doing on their own; this wasn’t something obtainable through mental willpower or Ability wise.
It was the work of a Warrior, and a powerful one at that.
I can’t get inside their heads without being able to find them, and right now I had to find them in that void of nothing if I wanted to do anything. Breaking through whatever it was this Warrior was doing to keep me out was going to be difficult and draining but not knowing what is on their minds might be deadly.
Evening my breathing to a slow steady rhythm I focused on the three Dealers a few table in front of us. I shut off all other noise and any distraction before pushing on what was blocking me. The void of sound and thoughts stood stable and unyielding even as I pushed it with my mind and powers.
Squeezing my eyes shut I tried to put more power into breaking the barrier around their minds but to no luck. My breathing slowly got heavier the more I tried to force my way in, my head would pulse in pain every few minutes the longer I tried to break through.
I snapped out of my head and halted what I was doing when a hand gripped onto my shoulder painfully. “Stop, you’re only hurting yourself.” Xiumin said into my ear as he let go of me. “We’re going to be fine, so please don’t weaken yourself anymore.”
“If Sehun was here we would be able to at least hear what they were talking about.” Kai sighed before beside me.
“We don’t need Sehun, we just need to focus and a slightly quieter surroundings.” Tao muttered back. I had to agree, if the noise in the place died down we would have decent hearing of what they were talking about.
“For now we wait, if we hear something good. If not, then getting out safely is the main objective here.” Xiumin told us. As oldest, he’s the one in charge, and none of us were going to refute his plan.
Ten minutes passed before the place began to clear of people and we would have a chance at hearing what the Royals are saying. I still couldn’t find their minds and it was still frustrating me, but for now I would have to do without my specialty.
“She should be here by now.” I heard the tallest black haired boy say as I pushed side the white noise and focused on their voices just before us.
“Maybe she got caught up with a friend or one of the shows.” The silver haired one replied.
“It’s not likely. She never really got along with anyone and I doubt that has changed.” The other black haired Royal commented.
They never mentioned names so we couldn’t figure out just whom they were speaking about other than it was someone female. I glanced at the others and they shook their head indicating they didn’t have anything either we could work with. For all we know they are just here to meet a friend and it has nothing to do with Sky. But I for one am not taking that risk.
“There’s another mind around them.” I breathed as I tried once more to get at their thoughts. “But I can’t see who it belongs to. The place it’s coming from no one is standing there.”
“That isn’t possible, a mind is only where a body is to contain it.” Kai answered.
“I know, but I can still hear it.” I sighed.
I felt Tao poke my side as I slumped my head on the table. “Luhan, I think I know where that voice you are hearing is coming from.”
His voice was shaky at best, “Why.”
“Because we just found out who that invisible being around Sky is.” Xiumin breathed.
“What?” I looked up and there beside the Royals was a Warrior who I know was not there. “Do not tell me he has a spirit Specialty with invisibility.”
