Should Jongin talk to Taemin or not? That's the question Jongin had had in his head all day since Joonmyeon and Yifan talked to him.
He really missed Taemin and wanted to be with him but he was afraid of what Taemin was going to say. Was it really a misunderstanding? Could Jongin believe him now? Or did Taemin really want him back now? The day of their fight Taemin had tried to contact Jongin in all ways but then it stopped. He didn't receive even one message today.
So here Jongin sat on his bed after practice, staring at his phone, thinking what he should do. Should he just call Taemin? No, he wouldn't know what to say and it would be an awkward silence. Just a simple message would do right?
So that's what he did, but only after some time of thinking on what to write.
Come to my dorm in an hour.
That's all he wrote. He hesitated to send it but eventually did. Jongin didn't know what to do now. Just sit there for an hour and wait? Take a shower? Watch TV?
He decided on taking a shower because he was sweaty and it was not cause Taemin was coming over and he wanted to be fresh, nope not at all.
The shower took about ten minutes and Jongin felt refreshed from it but he also felt really hungry. When was last time he ate? Ah, the day of the fight. No wonder he was so hungry. But somehow he didn't feel like eating anything, not until he met Taemin at least. How much time did he have now? A look on his phone showed him it was 45 minutes left but it also showed him that he had a message. From Taemin.
Alright. But this time let me talk.
That's all it said. Somehow Jongin felt relief, Taemin would talk to him. Still cared.
Unconsciously Jongin smiled for a second but then came back to his senses. Why should he feel relieved? Jongin was the one who didn't want to talk and now he was relieved that Taemin wanted to talk to him? Jongin should make up his mind already.
He looked back at the text and replyed.
I wanna know the truth.
Not a minute later came a reply. Looks like Taemin was free right now to be texting so fast.
I'll tell you everything you want.
Can't you come here now?
I'm on my way.
Since Taemin was free right now why drag this out? They could settle this earlier if Taemin came now instead of an hour later.
Jongin went out to the living room after dressing in his pyjama; a t-shirt and shorts just above his knees. He found Yifan sitting on the couch with Tao, Xiumin, Chanyeol and Sehun, watching some music show.
Yifan looked at Jongin and Jongin nodded his head into the direction of the kitchen and went there. Yifan came after him. The kitchen was empty so it was perfect for a talk.
"I told Taemin to come here. He's on his way", Jongin said before Yifan could ask what he wanted. At first Yifan just starred at Jongin as if he didn't understand but then smiled.
"So you finally want to listen to him?" Yifan asked and leaned on the counter.
"I want to but at the same time I don't want to. I'm afraid of what he'll say but I miss him. If I let this drag out, we'll both end up hurting some way. I want to end this fight. I want it to end now, either we make up or break up. That depends on what he has to say." Jongin began trembling now. He was afraid to talk to Taemin.
"You're doing the right thing", Yifan said and hugged Jongin. "It'll be fine and if you need anything just shout and I'll be there in a second. Okay?" Jongin nodded and Yifan pulled away and patted his shoulder. "You'll be fine. Just let him explain."
Jongin just stood the thinking about how his life would be if they broke up. He wouldn't stand even being friends if they broke up and a life without Taemin was really hard. He wouldn't be able to move on.
The doorbell rang through the dorm and broke his thoughts. Jongin started to panic. Was he supposed to open the door or should he just run to his room and lock it so Taemin wouldn't be able to come in?
Yifan saw Jongin panicking and led him out from the kitchen and told Jongin to wait in his room and he would bring Taemin in. Jongin stiffly made his way back to his room and sat on his bed, waiting.
He could hear voices outside and it was probably s asking questions about what happened with them but Jongin cuouldnt concentrate on the words.
A minute later there was a knock on his door and he knew it was time now. He had to be strong and not break down in front of Taemin.
"Come in", he called in a shaky voice but he didn't care. Taemin opened the door slowly and saw Jongin on the bed. He went inside the room and closed the door as he hesitantly walked over to a desk chair near the bed. He sat down and Jongin couldn't help but notice how Taemin looked. He was paler than usual and his eyes were sad but also hopeful.
"Jongin...", Taemin started but didn't know what he should say now. Should he start explaining or should he wait for Jongin to say something first?
"Tell me, what happened that day", Jongin said and he was surprised with how cold he could sound when on the inside he just wanted to go over and hug Taemin and never let go.
"Please listen before you jump onto conclusions", Taemin said before he took a shaky breath and started explaining. "I didn't kiss him, Jongin. He kissed me. His band was celebrating something in SM and he was drunk. I have no idea why he kissed me but he just did. I was about to push him off when you came in and misunderstood our position. I only had my hands on him to push him away and nothing more." Taemin was quiet for a while before he continued. "I could never cheat on you Jongin. You're all that I need." Taemin's voice broke at the end and he could feel himself on the verge of tears. It hurt to see Jongin, especially in this broken state.
"Was that the truth?" Jongin asked quietly. He was looking at the floor and Taemin was sure he could see him shaking.
"Yes. Please believe me." Taemin stood up and went to stand in front of Jongin. "I love you, Jongin. I can't stand seeing you look like this." Jongin looked up at Taemin with tears running down his cheeks and that alone made Taemin bend down and wrap his arms around Jongin. "Don't cry. Please don't cry", Taemin whispered in his ear as he rocked them back and forth. Jongin had his face buried in Taemin's chest and his arms around Taemin's neck as he silently cried.
Jongin pulled away slightly when he was sure he was calm but still held onto Taemin.
"I'm sorry", Jongin said suddenly and Taemin, who apparently also had been crying while he soothed Jongin, looked at him surprised.
"Shouldn't I be the one to say that?" Taemin said and wiped Jongin's tears. "This is all my fault. I should have known better and not let him get close to me."
"No, this is my faulty. I should have known you wouldn't cheat on me but when I saw that, I couldn't come up with any reason to why you wouldn't have done it. You like Himchan and I thought you took me just because you couldn't have him. I was scared you were tired of me, that you didn't want me anym-", Jongin didn't have a chance to finish. Taemin's lips were on his, shutting him up.
"How can you think that?" Taemin's voice rose and sounded both angry and sad. "Sure, I liked him but not anymore. How can you even think I would get tired of you? That will never happen!" Jongin didn't know what to say, Taemin's outburst scared him but also made him happy.
"I'm sorry...", Jongin apologised since he didn't want to make Taemin angrier. "I couldn't think straight when I saw that. I was so sad, I didn't know what I was doing when I ran away." They stayed silent and looked at each other until Taemin broke the silence.
"So do you forgive me? Will you give me another chance?" Taemin bit his lip as he waited for Jongin's answer. It looked like Jongin hesitated before he answered carefully.
"I forgive you and give you another chance but only if you promise me something." Jongin looked so serious.
"Anything to have you back", Taemin said nervously. Jongin's face was really serious and his eyes stared intensively into Taemin's. Then a smile replaced the serious face and Taemin was confused.
"Promise me that those lips of yours will forever be mine." Taemin couldn't help but laugh softly at Jongin's cute request.
Taemin climbed up at Jongin's lap so he was facing Jongin with either leg on Jongin's sides and looked into his eyes as he made his promise.
"My lips will forever be yours only." Taemin kissed him lightly before he pulled back and continued his promise. "My heart will also forever belong to you. You've stolen it and I don't want it back", Taemin said and couldn't believe he said something so cheesy.
Before Jongin could comment on Taemin's cheesiness, Taemin had pushed him down on the bed and pressed his lips onto Jongin's. He pulled back for air and Jongin laughed softly, making Taemin's heart flutter.
"It's been two too many days without you. Lets just stay like this for a while." Taemin placed his head on Jongin's chest and heard his steady but slightly fast heartbeat and Taemin knew he was the cause of it. He smiled to himself as he felt Jongin hug him closer and they stayed like that for a while, a few kisses here and there, making up for the two days without seeing each other.

finally finished with this chapter! I've been sitting here for like two hours typing on it. I didn't have time to write earlier since I have homework and all but next week I have autumn break for a week and will be able to write ^^
