Marketplace Layouts (August 13, 2017)

Since there have been a number of users who ask me about how to apply marketplace layouts, I decided to make this tutorial. Hopefully it will be easy to understand.  

Why use marketplace layouts when you can just get the codes?

A: It's easier to edit stories and there's no need to keep up with the coding. You don't have to worry or look at the bothersome html codes, too.

A: Some codes (especially those that I use to make story layouts) disappear or get wacky when the editor is opened again which is cumbersome.  I honestly recommened using the marketplace for those who do not know much about html coding.

A: If you decide to have a change of heart, you can just activate a new layout and easily change your story's appearance without touching the codes.

A: It's just like Cinderella, okay?

 

We don't have a tutorial guest like usual to go over some helpful tips along the way but I've invited a special guest to answer some possible questions that you might have at the end of the chapter. Stay tuned!

 

 

Step 1

Firstly, go to the Layout Marketplace and select one of those blue links. It should look something like this:

Step 2

You will then be directed to a new page and the top part will look like this:

 Before you buy the layout, there are 2 things that you need to know: 

(1) It is imperative that you purchase a layout that has {CONTENTID#} tags to be able to use the layout! The pound # sign should have a number. For example: {CONTENTID35} or {CONTENTID1}

(2) The tags used need to be encased in the squiggly brackets { } NOT the straight [ ] or curved ( ) ones!

 

After you've made sure of those two tips, click on the green button to buy the layout. Now it should say that you own the layout.

Step 3

Go to the end of your story chapter (or description/foreword) and you will find these buttons just right before the comments section:

 

Edit Chapter I Delete I Change Layout I Remove Layout

 

 

Click on the Change Layout link and it should redirect you to your purchased layouts. Find the layout that you want to activate and click on the green Activate for chapter button.
