The Beast's Shadow
Description
It wasn't supposed to happen. It was supposed to be a legend, a myth. It should've been a fable that was there to scare the townsfolk into being good, honest people.
Sadly, though, they'd been wrong. They'd only ever thought that it was a story told to children before bed to frighten them. It wasn't real. It shouldn't be real, but it was true. And twelve unsuspecting boys suffered the consequences.
It was out of the ordinary, though. Twelve? That was certainly never supposed to happen. There should've only been five at the absolute maximum. Something had gone wrong. Something that shouldn't have happened did happen.
And the new wolf pack around the area had begun to garner interest. And there was a certain someone who became enthralled with them.

So this is it, Jimin thought, closing her eyes.
She tried not to breathe, she tried not to swallow, or let her pulse show what she was really feeling or her heart's rapid pace. She couldn't see, but she could hear. She could hear the low rumble from the animals throat that was emmitted from its bared teeth.
She could smell the musky scent of the animal's fur, the dirt stuck in the crevices of the animal's paws, the piny scent of the animal. But its reeking breath was the most striking feature about the animal.
Its breath had a clear animalistic stench. Jimin briefly remarked that it was like a dog's - if only her father heard her say that phrase! However, its resemblance to a domestic dog wasn't what concerned her at the moment, it was the smell of blood on his breath that concerned her the most.
The animal let out a deep guttural growl, its teeth brushing softly against her exposed jugular. The beast let out a brief bark before it settled its teeth either side of , squeezing ever so gently, drawing pin pricks of blood. It was almost as if it were testing the water and seeing how Jimin would react to its actions.
Jimin forgot about trying to keep calm and her heart completely took off. Her mind had gone completely blank. Her pregnant mother, her father and her step-father instantly sprang to mind. A tear slowly rolled down her mud-caked cheek as she thought of the people she loved the most, leaving a clean path in its wake.
Her last thoughts were of her family and how they reacted, before the animal's fangs tightened and she sank into a world of oblivion.
Note: In this fic, I'll refer to most of EXO by their real names and not their stage names.
Luhan = Xi Luhan (I know his real name is Lu Han, but this makes it easier for me.)
