The Night's Gift
Kiss of the MoonsThere is a legend, one that has been passed down from generation to generation. It speaks of the twelve stars that surround our two
moons. The first moon, Lumo, the brighter of the two, was surrounded by six of these stars. The red star, the blue star, the green star,
the orange star, the yellow star, and the cyan star. The second moon, Ethrista, was also surrounded by six stars, the black star, the
burgundy star, the gold star, the violet star, the turquoise star, and the purple star.
The legend says that in the world’s most desperate hour, the twelve stars would descend upon this world and that twelve guardians
would emerge, saving us in our time of need. But it is all legend as our time of need has come and the so called guardians have not.
As I write this, I fear my life is soon to come to an end. I hear the screams in the city surrounding me, screams of people who are
dying. Soon it shall be my turn. It’s here. These are my last words, hope… is not real...

Chanyeol awoke looking into the night sky. He remembered the feeling of his body being pulled from his home. He felt himself fall
many miles before he lost consciousness. Now looking up he noticed how far away he really was. There, in plain sight was Calas the
Red star, his home, so many miles away. It’s light flickered and went out. Chanyeol gasped as he noticed the other stars shortly follow
behind. He heard a loud crash and a groan from behind him. He turned around quickly to see a boy, not much older than himself it
seemed, climbing out of the dust and rubble of what used to be a building. Chanyeol’s eyes widened as he quickly got up and ran over
to the boy, despite the fact the he was hurting.
“H-hello?” He asked in his unusually deep voice. “Are you alright?” The boy in front of him looked up surprised and slightly afraid.
“Stay there!” He shouted, trembling. Chanyeol halted and frowned. “Who are you?” The other asked warily.
“My name’s Park Chanyeol, sorry if I startled you, I just wanted to make sure you were alright.” The other nodded.
“I’m alright, just a bit sore.” He said looking around. “Can you tell me where I am?” Chanyeol simply shrugged.
“No idea honestly, just got here myself.” He winced only now noticing how badly his leg was hurting. He reached down trying to rub
the pain away only to quickly pull away his now crimson stained hand. The other quickly rushed to his side, his face full of concern.
“You’re hurt!” He said trying to get the much taller boy to sit down. Chanyeol complied and plopped down, his brows creasing.
“It must have been from the fall.” The other looked surprised once again.
“You fell?” He looked up into the sky, right at the stars a wave of realization passing over his face. “Are you… from…” He pointed
up. Chanyeol simply nodded.
“You are too, aren’t you?” The other smiled.
“I’m Byun Baekhyun, from Bahelm the Yellow star.”
“We're neighbors then! I’m from Calas the Red star.” Chanyeol smiled but quickly took a sharp breath looking back down at his leg.
Baekhyun gasped.
“Your leg! That’s right!” He quickly rolled up the younger’s pants, revealing a long angry gash. “Well it’s not deep so that’s good.”
He looked up at the other. “I need something to wrap it in, so it doesn’t get infected.” Chanyeol quickly ripped the long sleeve off his
shirt and handed it to Baekhyun.
“Will that work?” The other nodded and wrapped the cloth tightly around the wound.
“I’m not very experienced with wounds, but it will work for now, we need to properly clean it properly soon though.” Chanyeol looked
around, finally noticing his surroundings.
“That might be a little bit hard, seeing where we’re at.” Baekhyun looked up and nodded grimly.
“We would land in the middle of a desert.” He said wiping sweat off his brow. "Come on, we have to get moving, the sooner we get
out of here, the better. Chanyeol nodded and stood up, grimacing as he did. "Will you be able to walk?"
"I should be able to, I've had worse than this before, we need to get going." Baekhyun hesitated for a second. "What's wrong?"
"It's just, we don't know each other at all, yet I immediately trusted you, I don’t trust just anyone. So why are you different?" Chanyeol
shrugged and smiled.
"Heck if I know! Maybe it's because we both just fell from our home, thousands of miles away, landed in the middle of the desert, and
only have eachother?" He laughed patting the elder’s back. "For now, all we can do is trust each other!" Baekhyun nodded, still a bit
unsure.
"Alright, well if we're going to get you cleaned up, we better start walking!"
