Beneath the human community, lies centuries secret of the complex wolf/werewolf community. When Kai, a teenage wolf failed his crucial third trail and was condemned for execution, he fled into human society to seek refuge. By twist of fate he encountered D.O, a werewolf hunter with a problem of his own. Together they formed an unlikely bond and teamed up to investigate the recent grisly murders in the city as well as to solve the mystery behind Kai's failure in his third trail.

 

Terminology

Werewolf
Unlike the modern day deception of them, they are more like a shapeshifter; a human who can take form either of wolves, or humanoid-like wolves what most people called werewolves. They are capable to shapeshifting anytime at their own desire. However during full moon, their beastly instinct become stronger and some of them would become berserk, wreaking havoc in the process. Trails of the Moon was created in order to find the berserker type and execute them before they can wreak havoc into the human community.

Trails of the Moon
Each wolves had to undergo the trials three times. First stage is when they reach puberty, second is when their wolf's power first manifestation, and finally when they reached eighteen. If a wolf failed the first two tests they will be taken away to be trained harder to control their beastly instinct, but if they failed the third one; regardless their previous results, they will be condemned dangerous and will be instantly executed.

Curse of the Wolf
A wolf can turn a human into their own kind by blood transfusion, usually via biting. The new-breed wolves will possess all the wolves' superhuman abilities like super strength and super agility but they could not do shapeshifting. However unlike the natural-born wolves, the new-breed wolves are unable to control their beast instinct during full moon, and only that time they will transformed into werewolf, but without human conscious. Usually new-breed wolves will be hunt down and execute by the werewolf hunters though there are some exceptional cases where they were allowed to live.

Werewolves Hunters
Despite their name, they actually have centuries truce with the wolves and had been working side by side ever since. Werewolves hunters only hunt down rogue werewolves that had been wreaking havoc within human community, this is mostly because the wolves usually avoid entering the human community to protect their secret, so the hunters did the cleaning job instead. The Wolf Council usually reward the hunters for the jobs, and sometimes even send them to hunt down fugitives wolves.

Magic Users
Also known as witches by normal people, magic users are people whom are gifted with extra sensitivity to supernatural. These people are capable to manipulate supernatural elements in their surrounding for their own benefits. However, they're easily exposed to malicious supernatural beings.

Elemental Users
They're not exactly magic users, but are normal people who are gifted with extra sensitivity to certain elements. These people is able to manipulate the elements, and in some rare cases can even generate the elements themselves.

The White War
The war between the wolves in Seoul and the white wolves from the Southern Land. The Seoul wolves were led by an enigmatic white wolf simply known as Suho, and thanks to his brilliant tactics the Seoul wolves won the war. The White War was named both after Suho’s nickname and the invaders.



 

Main Characters

Kai
Arrogant and confident, Kai believes he will one day lead his clan. When he unexpectedly failed his cruciall third stage trail, he was deemed dangerous by the Wolf Council and was ordered for execution. Believing something sinister behind his failure, Kai fled into the human community to seek refuge and hope to find the answer to his failure.

D.O
A werewolf hunter, after a vicious encounter with a werewolf during his childhood that left him orphaned, he had been raised and trained by a veteran werewolf hunter. The encounter also left him with Curse of the Wolf but he was allowed to live after his late master ensured the Wolf Council he can handle D.O. Suho put high interest on D.O and had him fully monitored.
 

Human Characters

Sehun
D.O's assistant and apprentice whom he been taking care after the latter's parents died in an accident. Sehun have strong connection with supernatural, which probably the reason D.O took him under his wings. D.O entrusted Sehun to lock him on every full moon.

Lay
D.O's human friend who owned a herbal shop. He provides most of D.O hunting materials. According to D.O, Lay's presence himself brings calmness to any soul, and even seemed to able to heal anyone' physical and mental pain by just being nearby them.

Chanyeol
A human teenager with powerful pyrokinetic ability, he often hangout at D.O home and sometimes even help D.O with weapon smiting. He is rather close to Sehun as the two fascinated with supernatural world.
 

Wolf Characters

Suho
Also known as The White Wolf, nobody knows his real name or age. Suho often dressed in full white, reflecting his white wolf form. Because of his contribution during The White War, he was appointed as the head of The Wolf Council. Alongside High Chancellor Kris, he ensure the wolf community centuries secret remain and would do anything to keep it that way.

Kris
A member of the Wu clan, one of the three Chinese wolf clans in Seoul. Because of his clan's contribution during the White War, Kris was appointed as the High Chancellor in the Wolf Council alongside Suho. He works closely with Suho and is the most aggressive of the two. In contrast to Suho, Kris often wearing black and he have red eyes even in his human form.

Tao
Also known as "The Tracker" due to his cunning ability to able to track down almost anything. Tao also a martial art expert, having training Wushu for eleven years; he is known to be able to take down almost any opponents, making him very effective as a bounty hunter. Tao is the member of the Huang clan, one of the three Chinese wolf clans in Seoul.

Luhan
A member of the Xi clan, one of the three Chinese wolf clans in Seoul. Beneath his flower boy and innocent looks, Luhan is the most aggressive, if not, the most sadistic wolf in the Seoul wolf community. The only reason he often get away with his "crimes" by The Wolf Council because he only hunted down wanted criminals or werewolf fugitives.

Xiumin
Real name Min Seok, he known as Xiumin by Kris, Tao and Luhan, whom are close to him. Xiumin is Kai's distant cousin. When Kai fleed into the human community, Xiumin followed along to ensure his cousin's safety. When Xiumin is sure Kai is safe with D.O, he returned to his wolf community and often provides Kai and D.O updated news from his community.

Baekhyun
Baekhyun is known in the wolf community to have silver eyes in his wolf form, thus earning the nickname "The Silver-Eyed Wolf", rumored enable him to see truth in his surrounding, which is no surprised he had become an accomplish investigator in both wolf and human communities. Baekhyun was summoned by Suho to investigate the recent murders in the human community.

Hyunjin
Kai's cousin, like Xiumin, he s very concern of Kai's well-being after the latter escaped into the human community. He distrusted D.O and other humans due to his previous experience. Contrast to Kai, he is polite, well-mannered and noble, but can be rather rude to humans.

Ryu
A rogue werewolf who failed his all his three trails and escaped his execution several years ago. He had been hunted down ever since but always manage to excape his executioners. He is the one responsible leaving D.O orphaned and with a curse. Baekhyun suspected he is also responsible with the recent murders in the human community. He have uncanny resemblances to Suho.
