"Angel of light."

“Have you ever been in love?” Chen stayed seated on the floor next to my bed. He had his eyes fixed on mine and scratched the back of his head. It was as if he had to solve a mathematical problem and didn’t know what direction he was heading to.

“No,” I answered and clicked my tongue. “What a stupid question.”

“It’s not.” Chen jumped up and started getting overexcited again. “I mean, other than Minah, there is no one I ever felt real love for.”

“Really?” I raised a brow and closed my eyes. “I thought you loved your special friend, Xiumin.”

“Yes, but that was different. I was talking about the love songs teach you. Get what I mean?”

“Oh God, Bubba. I thought you were smarter than that. Songs sell stuff we don’t have. We yearn for it and love to listen to stuff we’ll never have. Like, the stuff you see in commercials. You won’t ever have their life, even if you buy their stupid products.”

“You are such a bitter person, Tao.” he actually dared pouting at me. “Why did you kiss Luhan? I thought you killed him because he didn’t love you back?”

I rolled my eyes and got out of bed, poking him in his side. “A kiss is nothing, idiot. Who told you that I loved Luhan?”

“Yong Guk did.” Chen looked at me as if he was expecting some form of punishment. I couldn’t even start to comprehend his quirkiness. “I overheard him talking to his friend.” Now I remembered that Chen didn’t really like talking to other people than me. That didn’t even make sense, but I had decided to let that thought go.

“Chen, do me a favor and be silent.” I turned around and froze upon seeing someone standing in front of our cell.

The guy had messy, brown hair which seemed to be styled casually to appear neater than he actually was. He had a strong jaw line and intense, dark eyes. His stare made me feel uncomfortable. This guy nor a guard nor an inmate.

“Eavesdropping is very rude, sir.” Chen shouted. “You think people in prison don’t have manners?”

The man didn’t say a word and stepped closer to the bars that separated us. I couldn’t help but approach him as well. I wanted to take a look at him, but my eyes kept losing focus. As if he was doing something with the signal that should transport the image to my brain.

Normally, I would’ve got Chen’s back and tried intimidating this person as well; but mentally I wasn’t even close. I couldn’t get over his image, his stature, his creepy aura. The authority he radiated kept me glued to silence.

Suddenly, Chen’s archenemy –the robust guard- walked up to this viciously calm looking man and patted him on his back.

“Good job, locking up The Judge. Did you come to check up on him?” the guard asked him and I couldn’t help but feel stupid. Of course. This person is Jessica’s boss.

The special agent nodded slowly, but never stopped looking at me. He didn’t say a word and left. What was he trying to do?

If this was some kind of challenge, I kindly accepted it. This person had no idea who he was up against.

The courtyard had changed. The moment Chen and I stepped foot on the grass, I had a hard time holding in any laughter. The only thing that still remained the same was the tree which supported Chanyeol’s bony back. Ever since my hallucination about him inside my cell, I tried suppressing the thought of his existence.

Every single day, the remaining seven inmates worked out in the middle of the yard. Their equipment was stationed right over there. This time, even though it was arm day, no one sat even close to that spot.

Chen and I looked at each other, frowned and spotted The Judge lying on one of the benches. Chen stopped walking and grabbed my arm, firmly shaking his head.

I tried to break free, but he wouldn’t let me. What was he even thinking? Chen couldn’t even lift and ant. I grabbed his hand and shook my head. “What’s your problem?”

“I idolize nineteen year old girls and they call me mentally challenged.” he groaned. “Don’t do it. Stay away from him.”

“Listen to your own advice.” I said. “I’ll
