Guigui’s POV

“Ow ow ow.” I tried to stretch to no avail. My back hurts. Why did I fall asleep here? Of all places, why the study table?

I remember scanning my diary until late at night. I can’t believe I fell into slumber that fast.

The doorbell suddenly rang which took me by surprise.

“Woah, who is ringing this early? Coming!” I shouted as I ran downstairs.

As I opened the door, I found Wangzi smiling brightly at me which soon turned into a confused face.

“Gui! Why are you still dressed like that?” Wangzi asked as he entered my house.

“What? It’s still seven in the morning.” I said as I released a yawn.

“No baby girl. You better check your clock.” He laughed as he pointed to my wall clock which we inserted a new set of batteries yesterday.

“It’s already 11 am?!” I shouted in mock surprise.

“Yes, so can you now take a bath so we can go?” He said as he pushed me up the stairs.

“Done!” I shouted directly at Wangzi’s ear which surprised him.

“Hahaha you should’ve seen your face! Come on, slowpoke!” I joked.

“Oh, so I am the slowpoke now?” Wangzi said as he turned the tv off.

“Yes, so hurry up!” I knuckled him on the head.

He countered by ruffling my hair.

“Where are we going anyway?” I asked as I turned the music on.

“Well, you’ll just have to wait and see.” He said as he looked at my side with a smile on his face.

“Oh, how I love surprises!” I said in a sarcastic tone.

“Hahaha Gui. Just be patient.”

“Here we are!” Wangzi shouted as he stopped the car.

“Bubble… Teas?” I slowly read the sign.

“Yeah. I know you’ll love it here.” Wangzi smiled as we went out of the car.

“I went here before. When I was still young and when we just moved here.” I said. “Thank you for bringing me here, Wangzi. Let’s go! My Pearl Bubble is waiting for me!” I smiled as we opened the glass door to the Tea Shop.

“Hello! Welcome to Bubble Teas. What would you like to have?” The girl at the counter greeted us.

“Two Pearl Bubbles, please.” Wangzi said.

“Okay, would you like to have something else?”

“No, we’re fine.” I said as I smiled.

“Alright, here’s your buzzer. Please wait as we prepare for your orders. Thank you.” She smiled.

“Bzzz.”

“I’ll get it.” Wangzi said as he stood up.

“Here, Gui.” Wangzi said as he passed the Pearl Bubble to me.

“Yum! How I’ve missed this.” I said as I indulged myself to the fresh tapiocas.

Wangzi laughed at my reaction.

“So Wangzi what happened while I was gone? Any girls for my Little Wang?” I joked.

“Little Wang? What the, Gui.” He said as he laughed.

“What?” I laughed with him. “Any changes?”

“A lot. And when I say a lot, it’s this big.” He said as he demonstrated with his hands to exaggerate his statement.

“Seriously?”

“Just kidding, Gui. Well what do you want to know?” He asked me as he took a sip of his Pearl Bubble.

“Oh, I know. You want to know what happened to Aaron when you left.”

I choked on my Pearl Bubble. “What?” I coughed.

He suddenly laughed.

“Wangzi!” I said as I kicked his leg under the table.

“Ouch! Okay okay. So you do, don’t you?” He said as if he knew it from the very start.

“Well, I don’t get why he doesn’t remember me at all.” I said with confusion evident in my face.

“He does, Gui. You just have to wait until he admits it.” He said but didn’t continue further.
