If only the fans of the five golden boys of KPOP knew who their favourite idols truly were. The innocent, pure act of SHINee was hardly to be seen in their dormitory most days. In fact it was anything but that. Onew’s kindness dropped behind closed doors, the eldest being frustrated that he was stuck sharing a room with four others. He was bitter because of this, and a stream of cursing could often be heard around the house, and not only from being accident prone. Jonghyun was like the ultimate example of bipolar, nagging at s to clean up or do things for him one minute, to crying heartily over a cute kitten advertisement on the television the next. Then there was Key, who given his love for clothes and feminine looks, it wasn’t a far cry to guess he was gay, and took his uality seriously. When it came to Minho, if he wasn’t at home, you could guarantee he was harassing the Super Junior boys, asking Donghae to go play ball with him, hoping that one day Donghae would guess that ball did not include an actual soccer ball. And finally was the cutest of all KPOP boys, Lee Taemin, who put Dongho from U-KISS to shame with just how much he got from the ladies.

Foreword

Hello and welcome to my newest mini fiction, Stranger Than Fiction (STF), starring Choi Minho & SHINee (with the occasional appearances from fellow SM artists). 

This fiction was started not long after the Lucifer promotions, but abandoned as more ideas and life got in the way. Recently I picked it back up and I've always found it fun to write on, and it was in my opinion, a shame to leave it unfinished. I'm so glad it is now finally completed!

A lot of the storyline is based on some of the funnier thoughts Shawols/kpop fans have on the members of SHINee and is simply a fun way to express some of the cultural differences international fans have with idols - I'm sure it even can be expressed by native Koreans too at times! This is not a dig at this group at all, I am a fellow Shawol, love SHINee and have biased Onew for as long as I've been a fan - after all if it wasn't for SHINee introducing me to korean music, I probably wouldn't be here. This fiction is a comedy, so come read it for some fun!

STF has both English and Korean dialogue... anything in English will be italiced and online chats will also have ** in front and after the message to break it up from the body of the story. Any Korean words used will be described at the end of each chapter. I fully welcome constructive criticism, comments and questions!

 

Posting Schedule: I will be hopefully posting a chapter every Thursday. This fiction is short with only ten chapters, so I don't want the journey to end too soon!

Chapter 10: So here I am finally finished reading your updates and ready to comment before I go off to sleep.
Awwww this story was really good. So different from the other stories I've read. I loved that you continued it all the way through in Minho's point of view and centred the story around how he was feeling about his band members and hyungs.
It was so cute when he got all flustered over the Kyuline!! Of course Min and Kyu will forever over that, after all they are both "evil magnaes" as I like to affectionately call them ;)
The meeting between Minho and Maddie was so sweet too. It was cute that she a little, I liked that because it gave a more comfortable vibe between them. And it seemed like the two of them could be great friends too...I kinda imagine them continuing their friendship from there and staying in touch.
Thanks for posting this fab story, it gave me lots of giggles. And I really enjoyed it because I've been taking more notice of Minho over the last while, seeing his sweet side again. I feel like you captured quite a bit of the real Minho, as much as we can figure out from our position anyway.
I'm looking forward to finding out more about this VIXX story of yours. Any clues for me about what it will be like?? ;)

Chapter 7: Hi sweetheart, sorry for being MIA again. I finally got all caught up on your story tonight and I'm LOVING it!!! I'm really enjoying reading from Minho's point of view, seeing how reading Maddie's story is affecting him as he observes the other members :) It's fun watching him analyse each one of them and even himself. So cute when he got all worried about his own image too awww. I wonder how he is going to go about trying to change as he wants. Can't wait to find out :D
Things in the SHINee dorm are sure interesting these days with the arguing and "discoveries" hehe. But poor Onew...I want to go hug Jinki and help him get rid of all that stress!!! Actually Minho is building up some stress of his own with all his concerns over his behaviour too lol poor guy!
My lack of comments on this story is shocking, I will try to do better. Such a great story too sweetie. It gives me lots of giggles but also draws me in and makes me want to know them all more ^___^

Chapter 1: Ok, now I've read the first chapter I'm all the more excited and I'm looking forward to the next part already!
Poor Minho, he really would go crazy not able to move around and especially not able to do his beloved sports. I loved the call with Key, so typical of him I could imagine him saying those exact words hahaha I love that blunt kid.
I can tell already I'm gonna love this. As expected with a story you wrote of course ♥
