Chapter 3

Envelope

Minho stood up and took a  deep breath. He took an envelope from a drawer.

He put the envelop on the table.

“That’s going to be enough to provide for both your needs for a year. It can even cover for school and things you might need to make a child happy.” Said Minho

“You’re giving me money?” asked Sulli

“Give? No…I’m making you a deal. I’m paying you to leave Seoul and hide that kid away.” Said Minho

Wow! That just broke the remaining insanity in Sulli.

Sulli took the envelope and walked towards Minho. Sulli stood right in front of Minho.

“I think you got something wrong here. You feel I need to hide Kevin to hide the dirty background your Dad had. But I won’t let you do that to Kevin. I won’t allow you to treat him like  a dirt that has to be hidden under the carpet. For the last time, I was not involved in that article. And for the last time, I will work my way to provide for him. I will never, never ask for your help.” Said Sulli. Sulli forcefully placed the envelope on Minho’s chest making it fall to the ground. Money flying everywhere.

Sulli went out of the room crying. What will she do now? She just cut ties with Kevin’s brother…possibly the only person who could help them.

Sulli went to look for Kevin and saw him in the dining room…happily eating a piece of cake.

Sulli felt like her heart is being squeezed. When was the last time she bought Kevin a cake? Ahh….last year…When Ji Woo Unnie was still there. When will she be able to give him a cake again…

Sulli felt like throwing up…

Minho followed Sulli out. That woman’s pride is too high. Does she think she can actually find another job? She refused his help. That’s the worst thing she could have done. Minho saw Sulli standing behind a post. Crying while looking at Kevin.

“Refusing my help…and then crying out here like a pitiful child.” Minho is irritated.

Minho walked towards Sulli and grabbed her arm. But when Sulli turned to face him, her eyes look weird…

“What’s happening to you?” asked Minho

“I…don’t…know…” Sulli lost consciousness. Minho immediately caught her.

“She’s burning up” thought Minho

Kevin saw her mommy falling into Minho’s arm.

“Mommy? Mommy!” Kevin run towards Sulli

“Mommy?” Kevin is starting to cry

Minho looked away. He doesn’t like children...especially this one…just looking at him makes his heart boil in anger.

“She’s not dead. She’s just sleeping.” Said Minho

Kevin tried to stop crying and wiped his eyes dry.

“Ok…Mommy is just sleeping? But why is she sleeping in your arms Ajussi? Why isn’t she sleeping on the cushion? Mommy Said I should sleep on cushion.” asked Kevin

This kid…Why does he have a  lot of questions?

Minho lifted Sulli in his arms.

“I will take her to the bed.” Said Minho

Minho laid Sulli in the bed. He left Kevin downstairs with Anna. He placed a pillow under Sulli’s head.

Why does he have to do this? To the sister of the woman who destroyed their family?

Minho noticed Sulli’s face still wet from tears. He took a tissue paper and wiped her face.

Minho reminded himself that he’s still human, that though hate runs through his veins for this woman, he still brought them in his home and they are his responsibility while they’re there.

Minho touched Sulli’s forehead.

“The temperature is too high.” Thought Minho

Anna knocked on the door.

“Mr. Minho. It was good that Doc was on his way here to check on your Mom. So I asked him to come up here to check on Miss Sulli.” Said Anna

A doctor went in the guest room.

“She seems to have a high fever.” Said Minho

The doctor opened his bag and took an electronic thermometer.

“39.3 degrees….That’s a  high fever all right.” Said the doctor

“Where’s the kid?” asked Minho

“I left him with Butler Jim.” Said Anna

The doctor did some checks.

“I think it would be over fatigue…but I can’t say for sure unless we make tests in the hospi
