⚜ Tied By A Child

“Little boy when you speak,

I can’t help but kiss your cheeks.

I love the way you grab my hands,

And tell me all about your plans~”

The song continued on, but I stopped singing.  I just finished feeding my baby boy and now I’m walking around the room, rocking him to sleep.  His tiny hands hold tight on my index finger and my thumb gently caressed his hand.  He smells good, the baby brand, Johnson & Johnson, swarms around my little boy.

           Knock. Knock.

I pat Seyong’s and turned around.  The door opened and my mother walked in with another gift from Sehun.  I sighed.  “Just put it by the rest…and where is he?” I asked her and she does before walking over.  “He wanted me to come up first and see if you were in a good mood.” She gave me a kiss before doing to the same to her grandson.  “I’ll send him up now.” She stated as she walked to the door.  I smile a bit before she left the room.

Not a moment later, the door opened again.  “Miyoung.” His soothing voice warmed my insides. The door closed and I let my smile fade as I turned around to face the man behind the soft voice.  “What?” I had my straight face on and he walked towards me.  “Did you read the card?” He asked and walked towards me.  I shook my head, “No, but if it says the same thing as the rest of them, then nope.” I answered his question before he could even get to asking me, again.

A frown came upon his face, his brows caved, “Ahhh, waee~~ When will you marry me!?” He fake cried and took Seyong from my arms.  “Tch—never.” I had to turn to hide my smile from him.

“Ehh? You’re always sleeping when I come to visit.” I heard Sehun huff and groan.  I rolled my eyes, shaking my head.  “Just wait a bit while I finish packing his things.” I told Sehun as I walked back from the closet with the infant car seat and the diaper bag.  I packed an extra set of clothes, more diapers and thin blankets.

I heard Sehun getting off my bed and walk towards me.  “Miyoung,” I heard his voice and looked up awhile later.  My eyes widen when I see how close he was standing.  I bent my back backwards as he leaned forward.  He chuckled seeing my reaction.  “You’re beautiful.” He whispered suddenly.  “Umm,” I murmured and took a step back with my back still arched, “O-okay…?” I cleared my throat when he suddenly caught me by surprised and kissed me.

Slowly, my eyes closed and my back straightened.  I could feel Seyong squirming between us.  All of a sudden, I felt a hand on my side and my hands went out to grab Seyoung.  I broke the kiss but couldn’t hide my smile.  Sehun groaned, “Now…will you marry me?”

I opened my eyes to see him softly looking at me.  I pulled baby closer to me and shook my head, “nope.” I spun on my heels and walked to the car seat.  Gently, I placed Seyong in it, buckling and tugging him in with a blanket.  Once he was secured, Sehun grabbed my arms and lifted me up into his embrace.

“When are you going to say yes?” He muttered into my hair.  His hands softly massaged my sides, “Hmm…?” He hummed.  I lifted my head and titled it to the side.  I raised my arms and circled his neck, “Ask me again,” I whispered into his ear.  His body shuttered, and it was honestly nice to know that I was the reason behind it.

“Unng, will you marry me, Park Miyoung.” He said as he pulled away so we can look at each other.  I gave him a smile and caressed his cheeks.  “No.” I giggled and pecked his nose before patting his shoulders, “Carry Seyong to the car.  They’re probably wondering where we are right now.” I said and went to grab the diaper bag.

Sehun grumbled adorably behind me as he latched the car seat in.  The drive to the picnic was quiet.  “Can you get my phone and dial Joonmyun-hyung.” Sehun asked quietly and I fished his pockets.  “Why?” I asked and pulled it out.  He threw a glare and I scoffed as he snatched the phone from my hands.  “Never mind.” He hissed and did it himself.  The phone rang twice before Sehun spoke.  “Hyung, take everything away. Hide it all—just—no! Just hide it, mission abort.” He hissed then hung up.

           Mission abort?

I rolled my eyes, “You’re so weird.” I muttered and looked out the window and he murmured something inaudible to me.

We stepped out of the car and immediately, I heard Eunae scream.  Mentally face palming myself, I hurriedly got Seyong out as Eunae ran to us.  She grinned and quickly took my baby from my arms.  “Finally!” She hissed at me then walked back to the larger group.  “Idiot.” I muttered and went to grab the diaper bag, but Sehun quickly took it before me and pulled me back as he closed the car door.

“Where’s Jae!?” Minseok shouted as Sehun and I neared the picnic table.  “My parents are taking him to the zoo.” I answered and set the bag on a blanket on the ground before I collapsed on it too.

It has been 21 days since I gave birth to Seyoung, and I am extremely tired.  I’m staying up late, cleaning or exercising when I have time and I even sometimes forget to eat.  How crazy is that?  Even after pregnancy, my legs still cramp up and my back still feels pain.  I haven’t been wanting to do anything and I blame it on the baby blues.  I’ve just too exhausted to care about everything because caring for Seyong has been the only thing on my mind.

I lie down on the blanket.  My back’s aching…Why…because I’ve been standing too long? I sigh tiredly before yawning.  I need a massage, maybe a back adjustment to loosen my muscles and joints.

“Are you alright?” He whispered into my ears and I jolt.  My eyes shot open and I shove him up before getting up myself, “Dude! Don’t—you scared me, idiot.” I brushed my bangs aside and threw a glare at Lu Han.  He laughed at my reaction and I punched his arms.

“Hot dogs and burgers are ready!” Chanyeol’s booming voice filled the park area around us, “After our stomachs settle, it’s an old fashion game of 6 on 6 soccer!”

I ran my fingers through my long hair and looked around.  “Come on,” Lu Han grabbed my arm and helped me up.  “You should eat more.  You don’t even have any baby fat from your pregnancy.” I heard him mutter and I rolled my eyes.  “Oh you don’t even know how big I look.” I replied but he quickly retorted, “Trust me, you look like you never gave birth.” He chuckled and grinned like a child.

Rolling my eyes once again, I shoved him and looked around.  I saw Sehun looking, but turned away once our eyes met.  “Miyoung!” I turned towards the voice then grinned.  I held my arms out as Soojung gave my baby back to me.  I wrinkled my nose and went back to the blanket on the ground and sat down, holding baby in my arms.

He was awake now.  His wandering eyes scanned the surrounding.  I lifted the Pororo blanket he was wrapped in over his head just to block the sunlight from his eyes.  I couldn’t help but smile as his tongue darted out of his mouth every now and then.  I ran my finger down his chubby cheeks softly and his head turned towards it, pressing against my hand.  “Hi baby.” I cooed and kissed his nose.

His eyes, nose and lips, they were all so cute.  Seyong stared at me like it’s the only thing he wanted to do.  He lifted his tiny hands and wiggled them towards my chest.  A soft smile appeared on my face and I pulled him closer before kissing him again.  I adjusted him in my arms and took in his features.  He only has my eyes, and other than that, his nose and lips are from his father.  So cute.

“Babe.” I looked up at the call of the new nickname that I totally shouldn’t be answering to.  “The blanket.” He chuckled and I nod, “yeah, thanks for getting it.” I tell him and he nods in reply, “favorite show.” He muttered before sitting cross legged in front of baby and me.  He placed a set of lunch boxes down, “Anyways, Joonmyun-hyung and Minseok-hyung told me that you should be eating seaweed soup for at least the first month.”

I immediately rolled my eyes because my mother’s been practically forcing it down my throat whenever she remembers, seaweed soup and boiled chicken, that is.

“…and yeah.” I look up to see him shrugging.  “Anyways, so I learned how to cook it. I don’t know if it’s good or not, but…” He continued blabbering on, but I had already tuned him out.  I smiled because just the thought of him in the kitchen cooking something made my insides melt.  Why is this man so sweet?

“Sehun.” I said and he looked at me in surprise, “Wh-what? What’s wrong?” He asked but I just chuckled, “Just feed me.” I told him before his eyes widen, “Really!? I mean—it might not even be good-I’m sorry if it tastes horrible, Miyoung.  It’s my first time-well, I mean, I actually made it 3 times, and the 3rd one tasted better so I decided to go with this one.  And this sounds really lame, but the rice might be a little under cooked too, but I hope you…”

I sighed and smiled softly as he, once again, continued to talk nonsense.  “…tea; my mom—well, not my mom, my maid actually, but she treats me well since I was young and I only see her once a week, but still, she says that the tea is also supposed to flush out—”

           “Sehun.”

“Wh-what?” He looked at me alarmed, “Is something wrong?” He asked and I’m afraid he’s going to start blabbering on again.  “Hunnie, just feed me.  I’ll like it because you took time in your day to make it.” I leaned forward and told him quietly.  His lips curled into a smile and he leaned forward as well.  The sparkle in his eyes lit up and he looked adorable, like a child on Christmas morn.

“Really?” He scoots closer to us and I nod slowly, “Yes, hunnie, so just feed me. I’m getting hungry.” I tell him honestly.  “Okay.” He quickly looks down and opened the containers.

“Well, aren’t you two just the cutest.” Jongdae laughs after witnessing everything just now.  “Never knew you had a side like this, Sehun.  Truthfully, it’s kind of disgusting.” He joked and for some reason sat down right next to Sehun even though he knew he would get a beating from the younger man.

I waited a bit for Sehun’s reaction, but nothing happened.  Sehun just kept setting up the food he brought me.  Confused, I looked over at Jongdae who was smirking.  “You know why he didn’t do anything?” He asked me and I shook my head, totally clueless.  Jongdae put his plate down and lightly knuckled the younger man’s head, “This kid’s trying to change.” He quickly clears his throat, “I don’t want my child to grow up being mean, so I will not do anything rash anymore.” He mimicked Sehun in the most annoying, high voice ever.

And I couldn’t help but giggle.  “Oh, Sehun, you’re too cute.” I muttered before looking down.  Seyong was grabbing at my shirt and I frowned.  “Naughty, naughty! What are you doing to mommy?” I heard Sehun voice and I looked up.  Seyong was acting up in my arms.  I quickly glanced down, softly forcing him to let go of the shirt he had pull down.  Sehun gasped and shoved Jongdae back in attempt to block him from the view.  Then Seyong started crying.

I pulled my shirt up, hiding my bra.  “Okay, okay.” I bounced him in my arms while standing up.  “Baby, I’m going to go feed him in the car.” I stated before leaving the group.

I fed baby then rocked him to sleep in my arms.  The door was open because it was way too hot to be sitting in there without any doors open.  I closed my eyes, drifting into a light sleep as I rocked myself back and forth.

A knock on the window sent me jerking. Seyong reacted to me and whined before I patted his so he’d sleep again.  After I saw him calming down, I looked up to see who it was, interrupting our little nap.

She gave me a shy smile but placed herself in the passenger seat and turned her head, “Sorry, Miyoung, I just had to talk to you.”  She suddenly grinned and I relaxed, leaning back against the seats and closing my eyes again.  “What’s up, Soojung?” I replied in which she took a deep breath.

“Okay, so I don’t really know how to say this, but I’m just going to straight out tell you because I hate it when others beat around the bush,” She stated.  “I don’t really know what’s going on with you and oppa but I know you guys like each other.  And we all know he’s asking you to marry him, so why aren’t you saying yes?  Everyone can see you have feelings for the idiot, it’s in your eyes and the way you act around him, even though you may say something different, Miyoung.”

My body temperature started rising at the truth.  My arms tingles and I felt heat everywhere.  “You know today’s hangout…” She said after a while.  I opened my eyes and noticed her far off gaze.  She was hesitant on telling me this.  “Sehun planned it all.  I don’t know, he suddenly had a good feeling you were finally going to say yes today, so he told us to get together so we can celebrate afterwards.”

Oh .  I swear I was starting to sweat now, and the fact that I was holding Seyong in my arms did not help.  His body heat was rubbing off me; I just needed to get away now.

“Suddenly, Joonmyun oppa got a call from him saying to…I don’t know? Abort mission?  After the call, oppa told us to pop the balloons and take everything away so that it looked just like a normal picnic, a get together.  Joonmyun oppa also told us to act normal.”

So that was the mission abort.  I thought to myself.

“I don’t really know what you’re planning to do, Miyoung.  I know he’s done a lot of things in the past, but he’s honestly changed and it’s a good change.  You should open up to him more, and actually tell him how you feel, stop being so cruel to him.”

           …Am I being cruel though?

“Anyways…sorry if this came out like a lecture.  I’m just trying to help my two idiotic friends right now.” She looked down at her lap and sighed.  A grin quickly formed on my face.  “Soojung!” My voice came out softly but firm, “If I was not holding him, I’d totally jump on you!” My heart melted to her kind words.  “Friends?” I said again in disbelief that she actually called me that.

Not a heartbeat later, Soojung rolled her eyes.  “Oh my goodness, Miyoung,” She shook her head, “You’re so dumb.” She said getting out of the car and walking back to the group.  I grinned wider and followed her out, back to the picnic area.

“Soojung!” I called for her but she kept walking, “shut up! I don’t want to talk to you!” She hollered back as I found my place next to Sehun again.

“What’s—is something wrong?” He asked me and I looked at him, “Umm..no, nothing.” I faintly smiled and said nothing more.

What are you going to do about the truth now?

Chapter 55: I really loved this story.. Ah at first I totally cheering for Luhan but then story suddenly took such a twist that I turned to ship her with Sehun.. I loved how you portray Soojung.. Instead of showing her like those annoying evil b***h.. You showed her as a normal mature human.. I love her character development..and also Luhan's too.. I mean instead of being that heartbroken 2nd lead he moved on and still have the same relation with Sehun and Miyoung.. And Baek too has a mature side.. That is another charm.. Like how he can be a kid but whenever Eunae behave like a kid or loose her temper he become the mature man to handle her.. Thank you for such an amazing story..
