Description
Zhang YiXing’s aspirations for adopting a brother turn into a mentor project towards figuring out how to repair the broken pieces of Kim JongIn and, unknowingly, himself.
Foreword
A/N: The next project! I read a phenomenal LayKai on LJ before I thought this idea up, and I was almost discouraged (because really, there's just no point after reading that amazing piece of work amgah). But it just kept festering in my head (and Homint demanded it, that prince), so I was like, okay. This is much lighter than Frozen, so I hope y'all enjoy~
“Is it possible to adopt a brother?”
When he was greeted by silence, YiXing looked away from the vague spot on the ceiling he had been staring at to see if his roommate had heard. Wu YiFan broke from the magazine he had his nose in and gazed incredulously at the smaller man sitting on the floor.
“Were you actually asking me that?” his deep voice quipped. “I could’ve sworn you were speaking nonsense to yourself.”
YiXing took in YiFan’s sarcasm with stride. “What’s nonsense about it?”
“First of all, where did that even come from? Is this some weird prompt for work?”
“No.”
“Second of all, why adopt a brother when you have me?”
“I don’t want you as a brother. You’re mean and scary and tall.”
YiFan clucked at the comment. “You’re short. Are you sure you want a brother? Or did you mix up your Mandarin with the word for ‘boyfriend’?”
Laughing, YiXing threw a pillow at the elder’s face. “There’s nothing wrong with my Chinese. And I don’t want a boyfriend, either.”
“What you’re looking for isn’t called a brother. It’s called a e. If that’s what you’re looking for, I’m sure friends of my friends have connections somehow.”
“Please. If I needed a booty call, I wouldn’t pay for it. I’d just ask you.”
For a second, YiFan was mortified. “What is I can’t tell if you’re joking or being serious with that face.”
YiXing gave him his signature, vacant smile before he returned to his thoughts and stared up at the ceiling again.
