Destiny is the name of an upcoming girl band from JYP Entertainment. This story is about their journey as the first girl band in JYP and the K-Pop industry.

Biography: Destiny is a six member idol band. They compose, and play their own songs; they are also trained in dancing. All of them are great dancers and singers. They are dubbed by JYP as a global girl group, as they have members from different countries.

Name: Jung Miyeon

Position: Leader, Guitarist and Vocals

Birthday: 29^th April 1992 (21 yr)

Nicknames: Yeon and Miki

History: Miyeon was born and raised in Busan. She auditioned for JYP when she was 15, but put her training on hold for 2 years to complete her studies. She was the one who suggested the idea of a girl band to JYP. She’s the oldest member of Destiny, she enjoys eating sweet stuff.

Name: Kashiwagi Kumi

Position: Drummer, Main Dancer, Visual, Vocals

Birthday: 11^th March 1993 (20 yr)

Nicknames: Kummin

History: Kumi is Japanese whose family moved to Korea when she was 9. She also lived in Spain for three years, her family moved there due to her father’s job. She auditioned for JYP when she was 17, and was accepted as a trainee. She learned how to play the drums when she was younger and she has a sweet and fresh look, giving off a spring time kind of feel.

Name: Kim Jae Mi “Jamie”

Position: Bassist, Vocals and Lead Dancer

Birthday: 16^th October 1993 (19 yr)

Nicknames: Jae and Mimi

History: Jamie is Korean-British; her father is Korean while her mother is British. She has a British accent, when she speaks. She auditioned for JYP, when she came to Korea on an exchange program back in 2009. She got accepted but trained in the US, where she attended school and where her parents currently reside. Her stage name is an anagram of her Korean name.

Name: Wang Xin Yi Rose

Position: Lead Vocals and Composer

Birthday: 19^th July 1993 (19 yr)

Nicknames: Rosie and Star (From the Chinese word Xing Xing, which means star)

History: Rose is from Hong Kong, she moved to Guangdong, China when she was 17 to live with her grandparents for a few months. She auditioned for JYP when they were in China. She has an impressive vocal range; she has been dubbed by JYP Artists, staff and trainees as the “Chinese IU”

Name: Justina Kang

Position: Guitarist, Vocals and Composer

Birthday: 15^th December 1993 (19 yr)

Nicknames: Tina

History: Justina is a Korean-American; she was born in Hollywood, California. She auditioned for JYP when her high school was used as the audition centre. She was accepted as a trainee after placing second in the audition. She trained in JYP’s building in the US, until 7 months before Destiny made their debut. She moved back to Korea and trained for her debut with Destiny.

Name: Petrina Wong

Position: Makane, Keyboardist, Lead Vocals and Composer

Birthday: 4^th July 1994 (18 yr)

Nicknames: Rina

History: Petrina is a Singaporean who grew up in Singapore. She auditioned for JYP when she was 14. She moved to Korea by herself and lived with other JYP trainees. She played the piano and keyboard when she was younger. Her voice is sweet and soothing, perfect for singing ballads. She is a big fan of Japanese anime and manga.
