“What the hell was that Minseok? Good night? That was it?” Luhan was pissed with how his friend ended his confession.

“LUHAN, WHAT DID YOU DO?!” Minseok was angry as well that he started punching Luhan on his upper body. Luhan was doing his best in protecting himself from receiving Minseok’s strong punches.

“It’s not my fault that you didn’t check your phone before putting it back in your pocket!” he screamed. Minseok stopped. He knew that his friend was right but he didn’t want to put his pride down and so he answered back, “you said ‘call her’. I assumed that you only looked for her number and not press call yet!”

“I knew you wouldn’t do it anyway and so I did it for you. I did you a big favor Kim Minseok! Don’t I deserve a ‘thank you’ at least?”

“Favor? I didn’t ask you for anything Luhan! I only said I’ll confess something to YOU and not to JIYEON! Was that hard to understand?” The atmosphere was getting warmer despite the cold wind passing by them. Luhan was the first one to calm himself down.

“I was just trying to help. If you didn’t appreciate it, then I might as well not help you with anything at all,” Luhan started walking away disappointed by the fact that his friend was mad at the ‘goodness’ did.

“Luhan, wait!” Minseok caught up with him and apologized with his sudden outburst, “I’m sorry. I was just too worried about what would happen next. What if she heard our conversation? I won’t have the guts to show my face to her again.”

“So what if she heard? Falling in love is normal especially for two people in the opposite . There’s nothing to be ashamed about it. You should actually be happy that you’re feeling it. That means, you’re alive. Just act normal when you see her and everything will fall into place.” Luhan’s love advices continued as they walk back to their dorm.

“Hey Jiyeon!” you opened your front door and there was Minseok greeting you early in the morning. You went out and closed the door behind you, leaving Minseok where he was standing.

“Why are you still standing there? Come on, we’re going to the mall.” You grabbed his hand and pulled him since he was still dumbfounded on what’s happening.

“We’re going to the mall at this time?”

“Don’t worry. I know a place where there are not much people. I’m sure no fans will run after you, if that’s what you’re worried about.”

“That’s not what I’m worried about. I’m worried about you,” is what Minseok was thinking at that time.

“Why are we going to the mall, by the way?” he asked

“i’m going to get a tattoo.”

“WHAT?! NO! I’m not allowing you to get a tattoo.”

“Ok. Then, I’ll just get you a tattoo instead.”

“What the heck, no way Jiyeon! What’s going on with you?”

“I’m drunk,” you acted like you were tipsy. “Really?” while Minseok is effortlessly straightening you up.

“No, silly! Just don’t ask anymore ok. I’m not going to do any of those I said anyway.”

You arrived at the mall and indeed you were right, there were not much people in that place. It was like a ghost town if not for the fancy chandeliers hanging on the high ceiling and the golden doors that led you to the different signature boutiques and shops.

“Go ahead and shop. I’ll pay for everything,” Minseok thought he heard wrongly until you repeated what you said.

“Why would I do that and why would you do that?”

“It’s my way of thanking you, to repay for everything you’ve done for me. You’ve been a good idol for the past days. You’ve been very nice and sweet to your fan. You did a lot of fanservice that made me think,” you stopped halfway almost spilling the fact that you heard his and Luhan’s conversation. But then you purposely said those words, idol and fan, trying to see whether he’ll open up the topic on what happened the night before. But he didn’t.

“Made you think what?” he asked. He was waiting for an answer. And you gave him one.

“That made me think you were actually doing it for real. It’s ok. I know that all of this is a job, so no worries. Please, don’t be shy and tell me the things you want. I’ll gladly buy them for you.” You really wanted to know whether that ‘I love her’ was real or not. But you’re too afraid to know the truth behind it. You just might end up disappointed and brokenhearted.

“I want you,” but what he said was slowly convincing you that it was real, until he added more, “to help me buy something for your father,” which surprised you.

“You’re going to buy him a present?”

“I don’t want to go to his party and not bring anything, do I?”

“Alright. But he doesn’t really like receiving gifts.”

“Now that’s going to be hard.”

“Just make sure you’ll be there, it will be enough.”

“Then my gift for your father has been settled.” With that being said, you waited for him to decide on what to buy now. Minseok grabbed your hand and started dragging you to department store. Honestly, that was the biggest department store both of you had ever been to. You, yourself, felt like a celebrity with all the fancy and branded things sparkling before your eyes. 

Minseok knew where to go right away. You just watched him as he chooses and grabs things that caught his eyes at the men’s section. Most of which are caps and jackets. You noticed how meticulous he was in shopping, checking every seam, hem and other little details. "He looks more handsome when serious," you thought to yourself. You were secretly enjoying every moment that his eyebrows go up and his lips pout a little. When he was done, the two of you proceeded to the cashier to pay.

“The members will be very happy with all of these. All thanks to you, Jiyeon,” you were actually not surprised at all to know that he remembered his dongsaengs. But you made it seem like you did anyway, “Huh? These aren’t yours?” you asked.

“Nope. I can’t think of anything that I like. But I know the members needed these things which they couldn’t buy at the moment,” but what he was really thinking was, “you’re here with me, I don’t need anything else,” but he can’t say it out loud to you.

“You’re such a thoughtful hyung. They’re lucky to have you,” you said. He looked at you as if his mind is talking to yours. But you can't seem to figure out that this is what he was actually thinking, “and I’m lucky to have someone like you.” You just got lost in his eyes and that was all that you knew.

“If you have other things to shop, just go ahead. I’ll be at the women’s section. Just look for me there, ok.” But instead of parting ways, Minseok followed and stayed with you. You didn’t bother asking him why anymore. You like the fact that he’s near you all the time anyway. He walked behind you, with a few shopping bags with him, like he was some kind of a bodyguard. And the truth is, he actually liked it that way. Knowing that he is there protecting you. 

At the women’s section, your eyes feasted seeing the array of beautiful and fashionable clothes bannered before your eyes. You thought of trying some but the temptation that you might end up buying them gave you second thoughts.

“Aren’t you going to buy anything for yourself?” Minseok asked. “Nope. This shopping day is only for you. I’ll do mine some other time perhaps,” but before you know it Minseok already picked a dress for you to try on. “Go on. Try it,” he said. It's a red sleevelss dress with the lenght falling above the knee. It has a belt the waist area that could show off your beautiful curves. Excitement was building up in him waiting whether he picked a good one for you or not. He was sure though that it will look great on you.

And it was. “You’re beautiful,” was all that came out from his mouth. You looked at him pleased with his choice for you. But he wasn’t done yet. With him were around ten other dresses. You looked at him wondering what’s he going to do with all those. Of course he answered, “try them all on.” You looked at him like he was a crazy man suffering from hoarding. But nevertheless, you did as you were told and went back to the fitting area trying one dress after another.

While you were giddily trying on his choice of clothes for you, Minseok on the other hand went to the jewelry area. He was keenly looking at the necklaces on display. “Would you like me to help you choose, sir?” the saleslady asked.

“Can you help me choose a silver necklace with the most beautiful pendant that would fit a young lady who lacks self-esteem,” the saleslady knew immediately what she will recommend to Minseok.

“This is our black pearl pendant. It’s very rare and very hard to catch. And because of its simplicity yet elegant feel, it will surely make anyone who wears it feel beautiful in an instant,” Minseok liked it from the moment it was showed to him, "even without anything on," the saleslady added. Minseok smiled with her witty remark. 

“Interesting. I’ll take it,” he gave his card and paid for the necklace right away, without hesitation. He kept it safely inside his bag and went back to see whether you were done fitting all the clothes.

Minseok assumed that you were still in the fitting room when he saw that you were still nowhere outside. You didn’t talk or called Minseok at all until you were done fitting the last dress because you thought he didn't want to see them anyway. You went out feeling tired with all the taking off and putting on but Minseok was just there looking at you like it was nothing.

“Happy? I fit them all as you said.”

“But you didn’t let me see them on you.”

“You didn’t say you wanted to see me in them. Aish! Let’s just eat. I’m already hungry,” Minseok didn’t oppose and he let you choose where the two of you will eat. You did him a favor anyway with all those clothes.

Before leaving the mall, Minseok stopped at a souvenir shop. His eyes lit with joy going around the store. You just silently followed him as he grabbed a few items with excitement and satisfaction on his face.

“Use these,” you offered your gift certificates. But he insisted that he’ll pay for them instead. You didn’t want to argue and so you let him do what he like.

On your way home, he told you about him leaving to go back to his hometown. He said that the things he bought at the souvenir shop were for his family. He hasn’t seen them for a year already because of EXO’s busy schedule. You asked how long he’s going to be there and he said that it will be for 3 days. You were happy for him that’s for sure, but somewhat a part of you doesn’t want him to leave even just for 3 days. You were so used to having him around every single day that it would make those 3 days feel like 3 months. He noticed that you were awfully quiet after he said it.

“You won’t miss me too much, I’m sure of that,” you want to slap him on the face. But then you realized, he doesn’t know any of your real feelings at all. And so, you mentally slapped yourself instead for being so coward in telling him the truth.  

“What made you think that?” you were trying your best to control the tears that were starting to form in your eyes which you don’t know why it was happening in the first place.

“Because you’re coming with me to meet my family.”  

A late 'Happy New Year' greeting from me.  It's a relief to know that the company let the 4 Chinese members return to their hometown to celebrate the New Year with their beloved families. :)))
