[Sneak Preview / Story Background]

BAM!

Aiba heard a loud noise from his tenant’s room.

“What’s up with that woman again?” Aiba wondered. However, silence soon enveloped theapartment. Suddenly, Aiba felt unease.

He decided to check it out.

Knock.Knock.

Nobody answered or opened the door.

Bang! BANG!

Aiba shouted, “Hey, woman! Are you okay?”

No sound. Nothing.

Aiba was about to turn away when he realized that there
was actually soft sounds. The sounds were that of a person gasping for breath.

He opened the door and saw his tenant trying to hang herself. A chair was on the floor and her legs were kicking violently in the air.

“YAH!” Aiba exclaimed and quickly helped to bring his tenant to safety.

“Yui! Yui!” Aiba called out but his tenant shut her eyes. He hurriedly called an ambulance and went with her to the hospital.

“Doctor, is that woman okay?” Aiba asked as a doctor stepped out.

“Are you her family member?” The doctor asked.

“No, she is my tenant. I also have no idea about any of her family or whatsoever if you are going to ask me.” Aiba stated.

The woman, Aragaki Yui, was just his tenant. His cousin had gladly offered to help him find a tenant to rent a room but he had no idea that it was going to be a female. However, she paid the rents on time and was a good tenant. She never created a mess in the apartment and bothered Aiba in any way. She would left for work in the morning and returned to her room directly after work. She only stepped out of her room when she needed a bath or the toilet or to get something to eat. Even the food that Aiba placed in the fridge was never touched by her.

She was a really good tenant. Aiba enjoyed the fact that she really just acted like a tenant, nothing more and nothing less than that.

“Alright, she is okay for now. However, she hasn’t woken up yet. In fact, we think that she might be suffering from depression. Do you know what she works as? Maybe we can ask her colleagues…”

“She is a nurse at ABC Hospital. That’s all that I know. Thank you, doctor.” Aiba expressed his gratitude and the doctor moved away to see his other patients.

“Depression?” Aiba thought to himself.

“No wonder she always had that gloomy air around her, with her long hair covering her face most of the time and I have never seen her smile except the first time she came to the apartment…”

Aiba recalled a young lady smiling politely as she bowed to him and thanked him for being so generous, renting the room to her at such an affordable price.

“I remember that I thought she was quite pretty…Hmmmmm.” Aiba was deep in thoughts until he received a text message.

He had to get back to work. He had to submit a few designs for some logo by today.
