Eun Joo’s POV

I crumpled the paper using my hand so tight I wanted it to be so crumpled until I can’t read any letter on it. How could he promise something like that? What? He wants to love and make me smile for the rest of my life? Where was he when I needed someone? He’s such a coward.

“Baekhyun let’s – “ my eyes rounded in fear when I can’t see him anywhere. “Yah, Baekhyun?” I started walking and looking around but no matter how hard I try searching for him, I can’t.

What happened to him? He won’t just leave me like this. I’ll just think that something happened that he needed to meet the other demons, but no. He will not just leave me like this.

I hurriedly ride the bus, hoping that he’s just home and had an urgent discussion with them. I bit my bottom lip in anxiousness. Finally, I arrived at my stop and quickened my pace back to the apartment. I burst inside and they all looked at me with round eyes. I instantly looked for Baekhyun but he’s not here. “Where is he?”

“Hmm? Why are you asking us?” Kai asked, walking over and not wearing a shirt again as he closed the door behind me. He leaned down and blew my eyes to distract me. “What’s with your expression?” He chuckled and I rolled my eyes in irritation.

“I’m going to ask you again, do you know where Baekhyun is?” this time, my tone is sharp.

Chanyeol tilted his head with adorable looking eyes as if he’s thinking. “Aren’t we supposed to ask you that? You went out together.” I saw Suho nodded his head. Kyungsoo and Sehun came out from the kitchen together.

Suho approached me and squeezed my shoulder, calming me from getting worried. “There’s a reason why he left. He’ll be back soon. Just wait for him here, hmm?” I just let him drag me inside.

I twisted the doorknob and entered my room when again, a can of black paint is near my bed. “Why is this thing inside my room again?” I straightened and looked around my room. The walls are still fine but why there’s always this paint here inside my room. “Baekhyun, what are you doing with this thing?” I changed into more comfortable clothes and walked outside hoping Baekhyun came, but to my disappointment he’s still not around.

“You’re always thinking about him! Don’t worry! He’s a demon.” Kyungsoo smiled at me and I softened. I don’t know if I should be glad that nothing’s going to happen to him even if he stay late at night because he’s a demon.

They’re watching a soccer game again and I just sat down the couch and Sehun instantly rested his head on my lap. “Yah,” I frowned. His head is heavy and my legs are going to get sore if he sleeps on my lap. “I have no time for your laziness, Sehun.”

Sehun looked up at me and cutely frowned. “I want to sleep on your lap.” I sighed in defeat. As if I can do anything about it. Even if I say no, I bet he’ll still do it. Sehun shook his head. “Nope, if you’re really mad I’m going to get up. But reading your thoughts, I think you’re too tired to argue with me because you’re thinking about Baekhyun hyung.”

Right, he’s not yet back. I looked outside and a few minutes from now, it’s going to be dark out soon. Wait till he comes back, I’m really going to beat him up. I turned my head and saw Kai laughing. “Are you laughing because of what I said?

Kai innocently looked at me while biting his thumb, “Hmm? I’m laughing because of the game.”

“I’m not stupid. There’s nothing funny about the game.” I glared at him and his chuckle ended with a smirk. “I’m not in the mood
