At the fan signing in Cheonahn, a fan gave Chanyeol a gift, and he thanked her. Then, she said, “Ah, you’re so handsome, it’s blinding me.” He replied, “Yes, it blinds me, too.” She laughed and said, “This is exactly what you said at the Times Square fansigning event too when I said this same compliment!” He laughed awkwardly and tilted his head, asking “Did I really?” The fan nodded and Chanyeol looked a bit embarrassed.

In one open concert/event, the emcee introduced EXO-K with the line, “Ah..these kids are really known for being mama boys.” The other members showed either indifference or maybe tiny smiles but Chanyeol burst out laughing at this, slapping his knee, clapping like a seal, face twitching/cringing all over the place, the thing that he always does. 

There was one Shinhwa fan who gathered attention for saying, “You can hate on Shinhwa, but don’t hate on me.” Chanyeol got “inspired” by this quote and shared his own rendition in his old Cyworld diary post, “You can hate on SM, but don’t hate on me.” He joked that this was going to be his new motto from now.

This is an account from Chanyeol’s junior from his highschool years: Chanyeol’s name was known around the school because people had heard that he was a SM trainee. He also played the guitar for his band, “Siren.” Whenever the band performed, the cheers were really loud during his guitar solos. (He’s improved since his Smart contest days; don’t worry kekeke) Anyways, our school cafeteria is in the “basement” area, so to get there, you need to go down this staircase. Chanyeol was really close with these two guys (one of them is a really good singer and he’s really nice), and he’s always seen with those two by his side. Whenever it was lunch time, Chanyeol would appear at the entrance with those two guys, hands either in his pockets or fixing his hair as he cooly walked down the stairs. So that image of Chanyeol has really stuck with me.”

As a trainee, Chanyeol was one of the latest to come to practice but one of the earliest to leave.

At the EXO-K hi-touch event, a fan was being really shy and hesitant about giving Chanyeol a high-five. Chanyeol grabbed her wrist, lowered his head so he could meet her eyes, held eye contact, gave her a high-five, and warmly said, “Bye~”

At the Times Square fan signing, Baekhyun and Chanyeol were /playing around with this one bracelet, and the two of them kept on proudly showing the bracelet to the fans on the side. (Does this count as a Baekyeol moment? ;A;)

During one fan meeting, a lucky fan won something through a lottery and in a loud voice, she shouted, “아,존나 좋아.” This translates into, “Ah, friggin’ happy.” Both Chanyeol and Baekhyun sort of froze and their faces were unreadable. Then, one of them (the fan forgot which one) said, “Let’s use pure, pretty words…keke” But afterwards, a fan came up to Chanyeol to get her CD signed. She said “Oppa, you’re 존잘.” 존잘 is the abbrevation for “존나 잘생겼어,” which means “friggin’ handsome.” He tried to hide his small smile and wittily replied, “You’re 존예.” 존예 is the abbreviation for “존나 예뻐,” which means “friggin’ pretty.”

A fan handed Chanyeol a post-it with a question at a fansigning to answer. The question was, “Which member is the most handsome? (Excluding yourself.)” And then, she only listed the other members’ names below for him to circle his choice. Chanyeol didn’t hesitate in answering the question. When the fan got home, she found out that Chanyeol had circled the “yourself” in the parentheses as his answer.

This is an account from a past SM trainee who was friends with Chanyeol. The first time she met Sehun was when Chanyeol was having a staring contest with him. The second time she met Sehun was when Chanyeol had Sehun in a headlock. Chanyeol introduced Sehun to her and tried to get them to become friends, but everything failed awkwardly because of the weird moments she’d catch the two in. Needless to say, everytime she saw Sehun around, it was when he was with Chanyeol. She ended her account with: “EXO-K fans may be rooting for the KaDi (Kaisoo) and ChanBaek (Baekyeol) pairings, but in reality, it’s probably ‘ChanSe.’”

Chanyeol commented on Sehun’s Cyworld, “Why do you have so many girls as friends?” and after, as a message to the girls, he wrote “Sehun’s a scary kid. If you annoy him, he’ll drag you all the way to Chungdamcho basketball court, stuff your head in a basketball hoop, and throw balls at you.” But in reality, Sehun barely had any girls as friends on Cyworld and rather, Chanyeol had a bunch on his own friends list.

As a trainee, there was this girl Sehun liked, but the girl’s boyfriend was a “fighter.” The boyfriend found out that Sehun liked his girlfriend, so he messaged Sehun on Nate-On and cursed him out. Sehun got all scared and called Chanyeol over to the chatroom, and this boyfriend guy was all like “Who the is this kid…” Apparently, the boyfriend had “Chan” in his name too, so Chanyeol said, “Let’s not be like this. We’re both Chan’s~” The boyfriend started cursing at Chanyeol, and Chanyeol got all scared too. So he apologized and left the chatroom. 

Chanyeol can get really friendly and conversational with the fans. One fan excitedly shared the small conversation she had with Chanyeol at a fansigning event. Fan: “Hello~” Chanyeol: “Hello~ Oh, I really like that!” Fan: “What?” Chanyeol: “Your shirt! I have it too, and I really like it.” Fan: “Really?? I like wearing this shirt a lot. Ahahahahaha” Chanyeol: Pretty “____-ah~” Fan: “…I’m pretty?” Chanyeol: “Yes, definitely! Really pretty!” Fan: “Really?” (Fan’s note: Sorry; I lost my mind at this point, and I don’t even remember what the hell I said after that. Ah, Chanyeol….) 

This is an account from a past SM trainee who later “got to know” Chanyeol: “Chanyeol was one of the really famous trainees. He almost always had at least seven fans waiting for him outside the SM building who cheered him on everyday. When this guy was a trainee, it wasn’t only fans of SM Town who knew him but other general fans too. One day, I saw him at the McDonald’s in Chungdamdong. I honestly often mistook Chanyeol for Yoochun sometimes, so when I saw him, I shouted out, “Oh my god! Park Yoochun…” He turned around and gave me a lost look. I felt so embarrassed after I realized my mistake and immediately ran out. Later, that night, I ran into him right in front of the SM building. Because of the incident at McDonald’s, he laughed when he saw me. ㅠㅠ We came to the stage of exchanging greetings after that though.”

Lots of people pronounced Chanyeol’s name “차녈” instead of “찬열.” Sounding sorta like “Chanurl” instead of “Chan.Yeol.” There was one SM trainee who pronounced his name spot-on as “Chan.Yeol.” So when Chanyeol was still a trainee, his small group of fans who were supporting him from pre-debut pointed this girl out one day to him saying, “Oppa, this girl says your name weirdly.” The trainee wasn’t that close to Chanyeol, so she got all shy and stayed shut. Chanyeol prodded her to say his name, so she mumbled, “Chan.Yeol.Oppa.” And he started laughing ‘cause she sounded really stiff and awkward. The trainee got upset and felt pretty embarrassed and she ran inside the SM building. Chanyeol looked kind of apologetic afterwards. (btw, this is the same trainee as the one from the previous bullet)

As a lot of fans know by now, Chanyeol’s Cyworld was full of pictures of 2NE1’s Dara and at one point, he posted that he wanted to marry her.

Chanyeol’s a fanboy of Shin Minah, Miss A’s Suzy, Secret’s Hyosung, 2NE1’s Dara, and WG’s SoHee. His Cyworld was decorated with pictures of them, too.

Chanyeol followed After School’s Lizzy on his old twitter acc and the two exchanged a couple tweets before Chanyeol shut down his acc.

In the school yearbook, there’s a section where everyone in each class leaves messages for each other. Chanyeol was in his second year of highschool and his class was 2-9. Everyone left messages like: “Before we go move up to our third year, let’s make a lot of memories with the remaining time we have! Fighting!” “Let’s continue our good relations, everyone!” “Second year was a lot of fun and will probably become very meaningful experiences to us, let’s continue on with this happy life.” “So many has happened this second year of highschool…Friends, thank you for this past year. I hope we all reunite in the same class next year.” EXCEPT PARK CHANYEOL. His message: “Ya, we’re only almost done with our second year. Why are you guys all overreacting? kekeke We’re all going to see each other next year anyways! kekeke Pabo~” LOL True dat.

(repeat) About Secret’s Hyosung, Chanyeol also wrote “Jun Hyosung jjang!” on the messages section of his school’s yearbook. He sure does leave meaningful messages. LOL

After being spotted shopping with Kyungsoo at COEX, Chanyeol joked with a fan that going shopping with him and carrying all the bags, including Kyungsoo’s, was his primary way of exercising. 

At one fan signing, one fan shouted “The one who controls space!!!” (reference to Running Man) at Kai while doing the pose Yoo Jaesuk does. Kai slightly laughed, but Chanyeol totally lost it. He was laughing with his head banging all over the place, except that there was a fan who was right in front of him waiting for him to sign her CD. It took a while for him to regain control of himself and then he apologized to the fan who waited. (She ended up laughing at Chanyeol’s little fit though.)

At this same fan signing, the fans chanted, “Teeth-rich!!! Blast us with your smile!!!!” Chanyeol burst out with his laughter again, clapping, and he ended up banging his own head against the table. After becoming exhausted from laughing from this one line so much, he leaned over to rest his head on Kai’s shoulder. Kai moved away though, jokingly rejecting him. And then Chanyeol had another crazy laughing fit from this too.
