I excitingly dragged Kris along the streets, overly eager to reach our needed destination. Today was cake testing day. Yes, you have heard correctly, cake testing. Through all the other months of wedding planning, all I've been really looking forward to was cake testing. And now that the day has finally come, I couldn't contain my excitement.

“Kris, hurry.” I impatiently tugged the lazy giant along. Being the annoying but loving boyfriend he is, Kris decided to be difficult today and took his sweet time getting ready in the morning. He spent at least 20 minutes getting dressed and another 10 on his hair. He knew how excited I was for this but the man really does get pleasure in pissing me off.

“~~~-ah, calm down.” He attempted to pacify and pulled me back by the waist. “The cake shop isn't going anywhere.”

“I know that but I really want cake.” I replied while holding onto his arm, bouncing up and down like an energizer bunny. “So hurry.”

Kris smiled and shook his head, “You're really excited about today, aren't you?”

I shot him a look, “Do you even have to ask?” I grabbed a hold of his large hands and pulled him with me. “Now stop being a slow poke and hurry.”

“Wait.” Kris stopped me once again.

“What?!” I couldn't help but whine. We were right there. The entrance was before our eyes and all I had to do was set my hands on the doorknob and go in. But Kris...

“When we get in, remember not to eat too much cake, alright?” He requested. “I don't want you to get sick.”

“Yeah, yeah. Let's just get in.” I carelessly waved off and got ready to enter but I was pulled back. “Kris!” I whined.

“I mean it. I don't want you getting a stomachache.” Kris softly yet sternly spoke. I stared up into his concern and loving eyes. “Okay?” I nodded, pressing a quick kiss on his chin and successfully, pulled him into the bakery.

“Wah, so many cakes.” I couldn't help but emit in awe as I step foot into the bakery. I felt my mouth watering from the numerous bakes treats placed in the display windows. “They all look so good.”

“Remember what we agreed on, ~~~-ah.” Kris reminded from my side and held onto my hand tightly. “I don't want you to eat half the store then get a stomachache.” I ignored his pleas and rushed up to the front counter, informing the worker there that we had an appointment.

20 minutes later, a worker had wheeled out a cart full of cake samples of at least 20 different kinds. I thanked the worker before eying all the cake with sparkling eyes. “So many samples.”

“One at a time, sweetie.” Kris reminded, pulling my hands back so I couldn't grab all the plates of cake.

“Which one should we start with? Strawberry shortcake or the triple chocolate? Or maybe the chocolate mint? Ooh, maybe we should try the chocolate espresso one first?!” I gleefully questioned and shook Kris' arm lightly.

He chucked and smooth down my hair, “Let's try the strawberry.” He grabbed the plate with the strawberry shortcake and set it down between us. He grabbed onto the dessert fork and broke a piece off. “Aaahh.” He urged while holding the piece of cake up to my lips. I happily obliged with his gesture and ate the sweet, delicious treat. “Is it good?” Kris asked and wiped the corners of my lips. I fervently nodded my head and took another bite before feeding Kris a bit. I was ready to take another bite of cake but Kris quickly stopped me. “Why don't we try another cake before you devour all of this one?”

I pouted at his actions but agreed. The strawberry one is good but I bet that triple chocolate one would be even better. “Triple chocolate.” I said and pointed to the plate of heaven that I've been eying since the cart was brought out. “I want to try that one next, please.”

“Okay.” Kris put the previous cake back onto the cart and grabbed the triple chocolate one. He carefully broke off a piece with the fork and just like before, held it up to my lips. I eagerly accepted the offer and chewed down the scrumptious morsel, savoring the sugary goodness. I was right. This was was definitely better than the strawberry shortcake. Ah, I knew cake testing would be the best part of wedding plans.

After going through all the cake samples, I sat down with a nearly full belly and tried to make a decision on which cake to choose for our wedding. “Which one do you like?” I asked Kris while looking at the numerous plates of cake with a finger on my lips in thought.

“Which one do you like?” Kris shot back and slung an arm around my shoulders.

My eyes shifted away from the cake and to my boyfriend, “I like the triple chocolate one.”

“Then we'll get that one.”

“Are you sure you want that?”

“I'm fine with whatever you want.”

I pouted at his answer, “But it's your wedding too.”

“I know but a happy bride makes a happy me. So choose what you like.” He assured and lightly poked my cheeks.

“But...do you like it?” I worriedly ask. I appreciated how considerate Kris was being but really, this was his wedding too. It shouldn't just be all according to the things I like but the both of us.

He shrugged, “It's good.”

“But not great?”

“It really doesn't matter.” He said and pressed his lips softly against the apples of my cheeks. “I'll be eating something much sweeter than cake that day.” He whispered into my ears.

I pushed his face away and gave him look, “Greasy.” I pointed to the assortment of cakes and looked at Kris. “Cake. Seriously, which one do you like?”

“The triple chocolate one is good but it may be a bit rich for people who don't have a sweet tooth like you.” He thoughtfully reasoned. “How bout the chocolate mousse? It still has chocolate but the flavors won't be as strong and since it's in mousse form, it'll be lighter.”
