"Is Miyoung still in her dreamland, Ahboji?" Taeyeon asked the man who opened the door and let her in the house.   "You know your girlfriend, Taengoo" replied Mr. Hwang, shaking his head in disapproval but with a slight smile on his face. "She'll sleep in as much as she can."    "But we have a gig today," laughed Taeyeon.    "I'll leave her up to you then," smirked Mr. Hwang before going to his own room to prepare for work.    Taeyeon opened the pink door without knocking, knowing that the sole occupant of the room is sleeping and will not wake up even if she bangs the door. A glance at her watch told her that they only have less than a couple of hours to get to the venue of their gig,so without hesitation, she pulled the thick blanket covering the body of the person underneath whose arms are wrapped on a large Hello Kitty plushie. She unconsciously smiled upon seeing how her girlfriend was almost choking the smiling cat.    "Fany-ah, it's time to wake up," she cooed unto her girlfriend's ear. She repeated her action  for several times until Tiffany moved to hide under the plushie.   "Oh no, you're not falling asleep again." She got hold of the plushie and put it at the end pf the bed.   "But Taetae..." whined Tiffany.   "No Fany, you have to get up now," she give her girlfriend a kiss on the forehead, the nose and lastly the lips. "We're going to be late."   "But I'm still so sleepy..."   "And why is that?"   "I tried to finish that song we were writing yesterday and forgot about the time, so yeah..."   Taeyeon smiled but did not relent on her purpose of getting her girlfriend out of bed and into the bathroom. "I appreciate you effort and I love you for it but we made a promise to Mr. Kang that we will sing at his wedding."   Not wanting to upset her girlfriend, Tiffany sighed as a sign of defeat and followed Taeyeon's pull. Thirty minutes later, the bathroom door opened and came out Tiffany in her pink bathrobe. She frowned when she did not see Taeyeon but proceeded to her closet to get her outfit for the day. She was in the middle of putting on her make-up when she heard her door opening and saw Taeyeon, through her mirror, bringing a tray full of food inside her room.   "I decided to prepare your breakfast while you were taking a shower since i assume that we will not have time to eat at the venue by the time we get there," explained Taeyeon upon seeing Tiffany watching her through the latter's mirror. She carefully balance the tray on one hand while she tried to clear the table of the music sheets containing her girlfriend's late night labour.    After putting on her finishing touches, Tiffany dragged her chair to sit beside Taeyeon and was about to take hold of the fork when a hand prevented her from doing so.   "Nuh uh... I need you to eat quickly but safely... I don't want you to ruin you make-up and do it again cause we really need to leave in a few..."   "I'm not a baby!" complained Tiffany.   "Yes, you are are," replied Taeyeon. "You are my baby."   "Please lessen the cheese, Taetae... I'm still sleepy and cringing from you cheesiness will only drain what little energy I have in my body right now."   Taeyeon laugh out lod upon hearing that but she continued feeding Tiffany. After a few more minutes of bickering, the duo was able to finish their food just in time for them to go their way.   It was another tiring day but the group was happy because all the guests have complimented their performance. One guest even asked them if they can set an appointment with him because he's willing to offer them a contract to Vegas.   "You heard the man, Sunkyu," said Yuri. "He's not gonna tell us what to play, it's up to us. We don't have to change anything."   "And I've already made my research on him and his company," interjected Taeyeon. "The company is a well-known one and the man who made us that offer was none other that that company's CEO. I really think that what he told us was legit."   "Okay, okay, you win," conceded the woman. "I just can't still believe that we've been offered our own contract, and not just to play here, but in Vegas."   "Believe it, Sunny dear," said Tiffany. "That way, you can practice more on your conversational english. I cannot guarantee that I can always be your interpreter in that big of a place," she teased the shorter woman.   Taeyeon snickered on the side.   "The same goes to you, too, Taetae," Tiffany told her girlfriend, which earned laughes from their other friends.    "But I know my english!" Protested Taeyeon.   "When you're singing, yes," explained Tiffany while caressing her girlfriend's back. "But your conversational english is still a bit off."   Taeyeon stopped pouting and just shrugged. "Well, why not you start teaching me later?" Her eyes are twinkling.   "Urghhh..." Said the tallest, Sooyoung. "I bet Taengoo's ert english is already in a higher level."   The group of friends started laughing again, and only separated when it was time to head to their own homes. As usual, Taeyeon was with Tiffany.   "Have I ever told you I love you in english, Fany-ah?"   The random question made Tiffany laugh hard. After a few seconds to gather her breath, she looked at Taeyeon only to see a serious look on the latter's face.   "Well, you've never done it directly, but you've said it to me in those songs you've written for me."   Taeyeon contemplated for a while before she ran to the middle of the sidewalk. Seeing the little platform used by street performers, she ran into it, climbed her way up, and then give Tiffany a mischievous smile.    "Taetae!" Shouted Tiffany, embarrased with her girlfriend's action. "Get back here!" But she knew that her words only fell on deaf ears when she heard Taeyeon clearing .   "Hhmmm... Ladies and gentlemen!" Taeyeon's loud voice attracted the attention of the few bystanders and people walking past them. When she noticed that some of these people are now facing her, she again shouted, "Please bear with me for doing this but I just want you all to be my witness as I tell that beautiful eye-smiling girl over there that I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL!!!" Loud claps and whistles followed Taeyeon's impromptu declaration of love.   Unable to stop her girlfriend, Tiffany can only smile and shake her head as she watched Taeyeon bow to the people on that sidewalk before skipping back to her side, a very big smile plastered on her face.   "So, how was it?" Asked the grinning Taeyeon.    "I didn't know that you're growing a cheese farm," teased Tiffany.   "You love it and you love me," replied Taeyeon, the grin still evident on her face.   "True..." Answered Tiffany before she gave Taeyeon a gentle peck on the lips.     ---------------------       It did not take them long to finalise their contract and soon they were just waiting for their flight. On the day of their flight, however,  Tiffany received a call from Taeyeon telling them that she has a very urgent family matter to attend to and that she will just follow them the next day. Confused, Tiffany offered to take the flight with Taeyeon but the latter told her that it is not necessary so with a heavy heart, she flew to Vegas with their friends.   Meanwhile, Taeyeon has been struggling to contain her emotions after her talk with her brother. Apparently, their father had a the night before, leading them to find out about the true state of their family business. The business which their father had cared for the last three decades was in the verge of bankruptcy, and the only way for it to be saved is for someone to invest a large amount of money into it. Her brother then told her that there was someone willing to do so, but Taeyeon needs to marry his daughter. Taeyeon did not agree at first, knowing how it will break Tiffany's and her own heart, but upon seeing her father in that hospital bed and knowing that her brother has also did the same sacrifice a couple of years ago, she knew that she had no choice.    With a heavy heart, she dialled Tiffany's number and waited for the other girl to answer her call.   "Taetae!" She heard the loud response. "Are you in the airport now?"   Taeyeon tried to blink back the tears threatening to spill over as she tried to formulate how best she can break the news to Tiffany in the least painful way possible. However, knowing that she cannot do anything without hurting her love one, she swallowed hard and then uttered the most dreadful words she will ever say in her entire life.    "I'm marrying someone else, Fany-ah..."   She heard the sharp intake of breath on the other end of the line followed by a soft chuckle.    "You're jokes are getting worst everyday, Taetae..."   Hearing her girlfriend's words, Taeyeon was not able to contain her tears any longer - she sobbed on the phone. On the other end, Tiffany's tears also fell down when she heard that heart wrenching sob and realized that all her dreams with Taeyeon have crumbled down.   "We promise each other, Taetae!" Tiffany cried. "You promise me."   "I'm sorry, Fany-ah, I'm so sorry..." Taeyeon cried just as hard, for she knew that both their hearts are breaking right at that very moment.    A few minutes passed before Taeyeon heard the sound signalling that Tiffany has ended the call. Realising that all has been lost, Taeyeon slide down on the floor with her back on the door and cried her heart out while clutching the necklace with the key pendant hanging on her neck.     ----------------   5 years later...   "Have you meet the chef that your friend has recommended?" Tiffany asked the man sitting on his swivel chair behind the large mahogany desk.  When the man beckoned her to come forward, she smiled and walked to him, giving him a kiss on the cheek.   "Now, why was that not the first thing you do instead of asking me about business?" Teased the man.   Tiffany only responded with a smile.   "Well, to answer your question, I'll be meeting her tomorrow for dinner, and I hope that you can come with me."   "Of course," Tiffany responded. "I also want to meet the person who will be responsible with your restaurant's future."   "Our restaurant, Tiff. Our restaurant."   Five years has already passed since Tiffany decided to lead her separate way from her group and friends. During the first two years, she struggled to make a living for herself after she told her sister who was in California what happened and the latter's friend gave her her very first job in a fashion magazine as a stylist. She drowned herself in her work, earning her numerous positive reviews from her clients and their friends and colleagues. It was not very long before her friend and colleague, Jessica Jung, made a proposal to her for the two of them to start their own clothing line. Tiffany agreed and the two became busy until Jessica told Tiffany that an investor from Seoul is willing to fund their first ever showcase/fashion show in said city. Remembering what lies therein, Tiffany was reluctant at first but then when she thought of her other family members whom she has not seen for so long, it was not long before she found herself agreeing with the plan.    It was during that first show when she met Michael, a friend of their investor. The young English man was in Seoul because his father wanted him to get a grip of their business there. One date lead to another until Michael finally asked her to be his girlfriend. Thinking that it was time for her to move on, she acquiesced with his request. After six months of dating, the two of them got engaged. At present, Michael is planning to open a restaurant, and got Tiffany as his personal advisor with regards the decorations, together with a professional interior designer.    "So, who is she?"   "If I remember correctly, Brian said that her name is Kim Taeyeon and that..."   The rest of Michael's sentence became a blur when Tiffany heard that name.   "Kim Taeyeon, you say?"   "Yup," replied Michael. "Brian told me that she's a talented cook that has been in the business of accepting house calls for parties and stuffs. And because she has not been in the business for long, she may be a reasonable first choice."   Tiffany struggled to remain calm and maintain her composure, and luckily, her fiancee did not notice anything amiss about her.   "Are you sure you want to hire her? You said so yourself that she has not been in the business for long, so how can you be sure of her abilities?"   "I've already asked others about her snd all I got were positive reviews. They said that the woman, although short in stature, is very good in her craft. I also arranged for a short demo from her next week."   Tiffany's mind was in jumble when Michael somewhat described the woman. "Why now?" She asked herself. "After all these years, why now?"     --------------     "That was my fiancee," Michael told the woman sitting across from him. "She's sorry that she's late but she's now on her way up, she just needs to park."   "Don't worry about it," the woman replied.   They were in the middle of sharing each other's preferences with regards food when Taeyeon saw her employer smile and stand up. She followed suit and even turned around to see the newcomer only for her smile to falter upon seeing her.   "I'm really sorry I was late," Tiffany pecked Michael's cheek.   "That's okay, hone," Michael assured his fiancee. "Taeyeon and I are just talking about our own food preferences when you came."   Upon hearing her name, Taeyeon forced a smile into her face and faced the couple in front of her.   "Oh, so it is you!" Exclaimed Tiffany, which Taeyeon thought was a little louder than normal, not knowing that Tiffany was also a nervous wreck inside.   "You know her?" Michael's confusion was evident in his voice and face.   "Yup," Tiffany was all smiles. "She's the friend I told you who left us hanging in Vegas."   Taeyeon was very embarrassed upon hearing that but she forced herself to remain standing with that smile on her face. She knew that she had hurt Tiffany badly, and she's willing to pay her mistake in any way she could, even if it means being ridiculed by the woman she loves.   "That was a very long time, hone," Michael said in disapproval of Tiffany's tone. "If I remember it right, you also told me that she has her reasons when she did that." He helped Tiffany settle in her chair before he sat down; Taeyeon followed suit.   "I'm sorry, but that was the last memory I had... We've never seen each other since then, right, Taeyeon?"   "Ye- yeah, that's correct," she managed to respond. "And I'm really sorry for that."   "Nah, as Michael said, that was in the past," shrugged Tiffany.    Taeyeon only nodded in response because felt dry. Luckily, the waiter came serving their main dish. They were almost finished when Tiffany asked Taeyeon again.   "So, how have you been, Taeyeon?"   Taeyeon slowly placed her fork and knife on the side and drank her wine before she answered.   "I've been well, thank you."   "Pardon me for asking but since we're the same age and owing to the fact that I am very happy with mine, I am curious if you're in a relationship, Taeyeon?" It was Michael who asked the question.   "Girlfriend?" Tiffany looked surprise with her fiancee's question. "Hone, Taeyeon is a married woman."   Taeyeon can only give her smile.   "You really have no contact with her, huh?"   "Why?" Asked a confused Tiffany.   "Taeyeon vomited while in the middle of saying her vows during her supposed wedding" replied the now laughing Michael. "It turned out that she has been drowning herself in alcohol a few hours prior. After spilling vomit unto her bride's gown, Taeyeon then told her that she's very sorry but she cannot continue with the wedding."   Taeyeon saw Tiffany frozen in her seat upon hearing Michael's narration of her disastrous supposed to be wedding day. She wanted to explain herself but opt to remain silent, letting the couple be.   "And how do you know about it?" Tiffany asked after she regained her composure.   "Taeyeon's supposed to be bride was a childhood friend. She's a spoilt woman and she's very well known so imagine when that happened during her wedding. She was fuming mad for months."   Michael was still laughing when Tiffany met Taeyeon's gaze. Knowing that the information was all new to Tiffany, Taeyeon immediately diverted the topic away from her past and talked about her supposed cooking demonstration for the following week. The three parted after another hour has passed.     ----------------     Tiffany immediately dialled Sunny's number, thinking of seeking comfort and advice from an old friend. After asking Sunny about her schedule for the day, the two agreed to meet at the bar where they held their past gigs.   "I know you'll be back here one day," said Sunny right after they were settled.   "To be honest, i never thought the same, Sunkyu-yah," Tiffany told her friend, deciding to be honest since she knew that her friend will understand her.   "And I don't blame you for that," Sunny assured Tiffany. "So what made you change your mind? And by the way, I've kinda called Sooyoung to tell here that I'll be meeting you and that shikshin decided to come here later, will that be okay?"    "Of course," Tiffany responded. "We haven't seen each other for a while and it would be great to hang out with you guys again."   They were in the middle of telling the waiter of their order when a sudden call diverted both of their attentions.   "Fany?" "Sunkyu?"    The two looked at the source of the voices and saw their friends walking towards them.   "Fancy seei

Chapter 8: This was one has been my favorite so far. They all handled this maturely. By that, I mean that Michael and Taeyeon didn't "fight" over Tiffany. We all know that Taeny are meant to be together <3
