AFF OPEN COLLEGE || A writing community
Description
AFF is a community.
We are writers and readers of fanfics, lost in our imaginations and fantasies.
Yet somehow AFF has also developed this cut-throat atmosphere ... contests, reviews, how-to-guides; elitism, bullying, didacticism.
I know there are some workshops and classrooms floating around, but they are like shops and services. What I am thinking is starting something that would operate like a writer’s group / laid-back classroom.
It is interactive and you participate as writers or readers or both.
It is like the contests here on AFF, where there are prompts. All writing participants would produce something – even if it is a 100 word drabble. Then we read each other’s works and give feedback and constructive criticisms or just knowledge that ‘hey, we’ve read your stuff.’ It differs from the contest in that you are not judged to win. You are judged to improve or keep your writing skills working.
It is like the reviews in that we review each other’s works. It is also the opportunity to experience the actual review process yourself; because it is one thing to groan and complain about a reviewer and another to actually do it and give constructive criticisms. This is where the non-writers can participate too.
It is like a how-to-guide in which we share our own experiences. Topics are suggested to ‘study’ on and participants can ask questions themselves.
This is a writing group.

Foreword
This is open to everyone on aff – you can join in at any time and drop out of the ‘classes’.
The class ‘topics’ will run bi-monthly (because everyone is busy outside of aff and on aff with their own serious stuff).
