Urban Green - Kim Yerim

Chapter 51: Life and Sorrow.

The real daughter of the CEO of the Kim Group of Hospitals has been found!

The real youngest child of the CEO of the Kim group of hospitals, Kim Joongki, has finally been found, having the identity of an eighteen year old high school student named Kim Jaera. It was only recently that their supposed daughter, Kim Jongmi, had held her debut party, though it has been revealed that the girl they had been presenting to the public was just a relative.

Mr. Kim admitted that their daughter had been missing for the past thirteen years and it was only recently that they found the young girl named Jaera who happened to be the real youngest member of the Kim Family. Other than that, they had refused to release any other statements nor show her profile to the public.

Currently, they are still trying to catch up with their long lost family member. However, an insider tipped in that a party in celebration of the youngest Kim’s comeback is in preparation and will be held in the near future. Until then, the Kims are asking for everyone’s understanding and support towards the matter.

“Everyone, guess what!” A male student suddenly appeared at the door, catching the attention of everyone inside the classroom. With wide eyes, the male then pointed to his phone. “Look at the news! Jaera’s a member of the Kim group! That family that owns all those hospitals!”

Everyone just stared at the boy with a stern look, obviously thinking of him as just another nutcase. Though once the students near the windows noticed two black cars approaching the school gates, they went wide eyed. Rushing towards the windows, the students gasped in awe as they saw a few men in black suits alighting the car. Seeing familiar faces following after, Tao didn’t waste a second, immediately running downstairs.

“You know, we’re just gathering attention like this.” Jaera spoke uncomfortably, lowering her head while covering her face with her hands. Seeing the forming crowd in their department’s building, she felt uneasy. She had already expected to be the center of the attention, especially after the news broke out, but even so, seeing it in actual still made things worse.

Noticing the uneasiness of Jaera, Chen patted her head. “Don’t worry, I’ll ask dad to remove the guards. Kai and Sehun are always with you anyway.”

“Hyung’s right.” Kai spoke, placing an arm around Jaera. “Besides, dad’s only worried for your well-being, but I’m sure that he’ll understand once hyung talks to him.”

Turning to both Kai and Chen, Jaera smiled sheepishly. “Thanks Kai and C-Chen-oppa.”

“Why aren’t you calling me oppa?” Kai asked, putting on a small pout, causing Jaera to chuckle.

“I’m not used to it, and Chen-oppa’s the oldest anyway.”

“Damn right, I am.” Chen grinned triumphantly whereas Kai just rolled his eyes before asking their driver to leave. Seeing the time, Chen then sighed before going back inside the car. “And I really need to go now or else, dad might kill me. He asked me to help him look at this particular patient—“

“DNA tests again?” Jaera asked, looking at Chen suspiciously.

Chen raised his hands defensively. “Not this time. This is a special case; something way more serious.” Seeing the unpleasant look on his face, Kai and Jaera asked no further. Waving goodbye to his siblings with a smile, Chen then drove out of the school grounds. “See you two later!”

Kai and Jaera waved goodbye towards his car. Once he was out of sight, Kai shook his head in dissatisfaction. “Sometimes, he really creeps me out. He just does things so secretly that it almost scares me whenever I meet up with him.” He said, turning around while placing an arm around Jaera. “He didn’t even tell me that he was going to do a DNA test on you. Dad knew though, since he was the one who suddenly told us about it, and boy, did mom almost faint.”

“Really?” Jaera asked, walking stiffly as they head towards the building entrance filled with ogling students. “That’s just like aunty—“ Hearing her words, Kai stopped.

“Mom.” He said with a smile. “That’s just like our mom.”

“Y-yeah,” Jaera smiled sheepishly. “That’s just like our mom.”

“I know you still feel weird and awkward around us, but you’ll get used to it.” Kai said. “I know that eventually, you’ll be able to feel at home again.” Jaera nodded, while Kai just smiled, relishing the moment.

Kai liked Jisoo, actually. Though part of it was because she was their cousin and relative, the bigger part was because she filled in the missing space in their family. Even though he felt bad for using her, Jisoo assured them that was what she wanted to do and that she was fine. Kai admired Jisoo more because of her strength. It was a hard thing to do, something that a coward wouldn’t have able to withstand, but she still stayed until the end. He felt happy being with her, he felt joyful, but having his real sister by his side, he can’t deny the fact that he felt more joyous than ever.

It’s as if a whole new kind of happiness suddenly dawned on him that every little thing that happens becomes so pleasant to him. Especially Jaera, every little thing that she did suddenly became even more adorable to him. Though even before, he already felt that way, having an unusual fondness towards the girl. He always had a soft spot for her and almost everything about her. He felt like the two of them held some sort of unknown connection, so knowing that it was indeed real, the delight was just so overwhelming.

With a bright and proud smile, Kai then trotted inside the high school building with Jaera by his side. He could see the girl hanging her head low in nervousness—having to be discreetly stared at by at least a hundred pairs of eyes—but he couldn’t care less. Sure, he did feel kind of bad for her, but the prospect of dropping his real younger sister off at her class overshadowed it. He had always done it when they were way younger—even though Jaera couldn’t remember it anymore—but with her long absence, he felt the need to do it again, to act like how an older brother should.

“Jaera!”

It was ruined however, once a familiar voice suddenly rang from across the hall. Turning to their backs, together with the students loitering around, they saw Sehun’s figure from afar. He was breathing heavily from running, but the smile on his face was much more apparent—for Jaera and Kai’s eyes, at the very least.

A part of Kai was irked about his moment with Jaera being ruined, but seeing that it was Sehun, he just chuckled. Although utterly surprised, he knew that the younger male was the one who seemed even happier to know about the sudden revelation of their sister’s real identity. He was their friend, almost like their family, who cared and thought about his sister the most. He loved and treasured Jaera when neither he nor Chen were able to, so seeing Sehun now with a bright and happy smile, Kai wouldn’t forsake him the luxury of still being Jaera’s best friend.

Seeing Jaera’s expectant smile, Sehun shook his exhaustion aside and ran towards her. He was halfway upon her reach when he suddenly felt himself stumbling and rolling down on the marble floor. Gasps were heard afterwards, from the students who were eyeing the whole scene as well as Kai and Jaera, but everyone quickly averted their gaze once a tall male student caught their undivided attention.

“Jaera, are you really the younger sister of Chen and Kai-hyung, and the youngest child of the Kim Group of Hospitals?!” Tao exclaimed, silencing the whole corridor as everyone turned to look at Jaera in a mixture of curiosity and anticipation. Even Sehun, who already knew about it, froze in place as he wondered about Jaera’s response.

It was another question that Jaera had already expected, but she didn’t think that it’d be that soon—especially under the expectant eyes of many. Nonetheless, despite her tenseness, she still nodded, gathering another round of gasps and murmurs. She was uncertain about declaring her real identity to the whole school, knowing very well that things would change once she did, but she realized that she had nothing to be afraid of anymore. Rather, even if things might’ve change, she knew that her family and friends, the important people in her life, will be there for her, giving her endless courage.

“I’m proud of you, Jaera.” Kai said, patting her head fondly as the girl just smiled.

“Why didn’t you tell me sooner—“ Tao was about to whine shamelessly again but stopped upon feeling pain coming from his right shoulder. Turning to his back, his eyes almost bulged out of their sockets once he saw Sehun’s angry face. “S-Sehun, I’m so—“

Seeing Sehun’s hands curling into fists, Tao didn’t even finish his sentence and immediately ran, earning snickers from a few onlookers. Sehun ran after him, of course, determined to give him a piece of his mind.

“Well, that escalated too quickly.” Kai snickered, shaking his head amusingly.

The bell then rang, signalling that classes were about to start. Few groans were heard from the students, hating the fact that they would have to return to studying, but not Jaera. She was actually relieved, and for once, she liked the prospect of sitting in class beside Sehun again. “Yeah, and I should really go to class now or else I might get detention again.”

Jaera was the last one in her class to enter the room, and obviously, all eyes were on her. She still

Chapter 60: This is my second time reading the ff (T▽T) author-nim you did a really good job ˊ▽ˋ i still love it even after years past. Reading this back reminds me a lot of past (〒︿〒) i miss the past so much the first time i read this when i was still in high school, still in my teens (not that im already old but yeah just entered twenties this year) anyway the story was great, honestly when you described jisoo i used to imagined her as sulli and i was shocked when you told us that you changed her name from sulli to jisoo bc tbh i think sulli fits the description more hahaha. Talk about jisoo, i like that girl yeah she might be annoying sometimes especially when it comes to her love for luhan but can i blame her when we all know that love is something we can't choose. It must also hurt her so much same as sehun.. I just want to hug and protect him so much (╥﹏╥) that boy really sacrificed so much for jaera and his luhan hyung lmao that show how big his heart. As for jaera and luhan...i love and ship both of them so much (ಥ_ಥ) both of them was definitely are destined for each other since from the start. They lost contacts from each other but years after that, they met again without knowing each other real identity but luhan..he still fell in love with jaera for the second time (ノ>ω<)ノ i like how he really cares for jaera (T_T) i even counted how much his nose bled over jaera in this ff..it was like five times before they are married and one time after they are married lmao that girl really did make him fell hard for her (^O^)/ . If only i can upvote this so many times, i would! ♡♡ thank you for the amazing ff author-nim hehehe ♡(◡‿◡✿)
