Chapter 1:  Flower Boy

Waking up at the sound of the imaginary rooster, Lu Han lazily got up, his eyes staring at the lifeless room in front of him. He stayed like that for a couple of minutes before scratching the back of his head while walking towards the bathroom. He made sure to wash off all the dirt that his body had accumulated for the day before walking over to the sink to brush his teeth. Afterwards, he then did a quick blow dry to his hair before tousling it into a messy but chic up do effortlessly.

He walked out of the bathroom and went to the kitchen, checking to see if the fridge contains something edible. Sure there were a few eggs and raw meat, but being the lazy bum that he is, Lu Han just stared at them, wishing that it would be cooked with his laser-like vision—which obviously wouldn’t happen.

He then walked over to his closet and as he was buttoning his shirt, a call suddenly appeared on his phone. He looked at the caller id before heaving a sigh.

“What?” Lu Han said, leaving the last two buttons opened before zipping up his black pants.

“Hey Lu Han, don’t forget the meeting with our foreign investors later this afternoon.” The caller said while Lu Han got his car keys and coat.

“What time are they coming again?”

“They’ll be here by 3—“

“Okay, I’ll be there by 2:59.” Lu Han said nonchalantly.

“Hey—“ Without even bothering to let the person finish speaking, Lu Han immediately ended the call and put his phone back in his pocket.

He then looked over his whole condo unit trying to check if he forgot something. Seeing as he’s good to go, he made a turn towards the door but noticed that the window curtains were still opened.

“Seriously, I swear I—“ He was about to speak profanities to the innocent curtain but stopped when his eyes unconsciously landed on the window of the old building right next to him.

It was an old and shabby apartment. The white paint was already washed out, and the metal railings attached to the building were full of rusts. Just looking at it from afar would make you want to cry, and the classy and expensive condominium building right next to it—the one where Lu Han lives—didn’t make it any better.

Lu Han stared at the window directly right in front of him, and saw a girl trying to tie her hair into a ponytail. He always sees that girl every morning, thus allowing him to make a few assumptions as to who she is. Whenever Lu Han sees her, she’d be in a hurry to wear her mustard yellow uniform. He wasn’t peeping on her as he would always see her already with her polo shirt on. It was the same uniform as the ones that the students use in the nearby high school, so it’s safe to say that she’s a high school student who’d probably be only seventeen to eighteen years old.

The girl ran around her room, getting her things from here and there. Lu Han snickered at how she manages to be late every day—it’s quite an amazing talent he’d say. Upon making sure that her bag is already complete, the girl nodded at herself in front of the mirror and ran for the door frantically.

Lu Han proceeded to close the window curtains and chuckled upon remembering how late the girl must be for her first day of school. He remembered how he used to be like that too, how he always woke up late, and how he always came to school—still late. The girl sure did make him feel nostalgic.

He then looked over at his wrist watch and immediately frowned upon seeing the time.

“Now I’m the one who’s late.”

“Kang Jaemin?”

“Present!”

“Kim Hyemi?”

“Here!”

“Kim Jaera?”

Upon hearing my name, I immediately ran towards the door and opened it with much force. The rest of the class turned to look my way as I panted heavily right in front of them.

“Yes, I’m here!” I said, raising my hand as I made way towards the back of the room where my seat was located.

“You came just in time again huh, Jaera.” Our teacher, Mr. Kim, said, shaking his head sarcastically, causing the rest of the class to laugh lightly.

I just nodded apologetically at him before resting down at my seat. All that running made me feel like a wasted plant.

“Class, I’ll be right back. I’ll just get something from the office so you can first start reading Chapter 1.” Mr. Kim said, walking over to the door before closing it afterwards.

I immediately slung my bag over my shoulders again and crouched down on the floor, going over to the back door to make my sweet escape but stopped when I felt a crumpled paper hit my head.

I gritted my teeth in annoyance before snatching the crumpled paper open.

“Hey, where are you going?” The letter said.

I quickly walked over to the culprit and threw the paper back at his smug face.

“It’s none of your business, Oh Sehun.”

The irritating boy in front of me just smirked.

“I’ll tell Mr. Kim that you skipped class again.”

I let out a mocking laugh before patting his head, making sure to annoy the hell out of him.

“I’d like to see you try.”

“Oi! Kim Jaera!”

Without looking back at my annoying seatmate, Sehun, I immediately made a run for the door and dashed through the staircase, landing on the ground floor. Taking a peek to my left then to the right, I then ran out of the school gates and rode the bus, heading towards my first job.

“Free samples of cupcakes! Free samples of cupcakes!” I shouted, holding a metallic tray full of various flavoured cupcakes as I walked back and forth on the streets, just in front of my workplace. “Get your free sample of cupcakes here! Freshly baked from the oven!”

“Can I try the strawberry?” Two girls asked as I quickly handed them two pieces with a smile.

“These are fresh from the oven miss and it’s sugar-free.” I said while the two girls nodded at each other in satisfaction.

“Okay, thank you!” They said before walking inside the actual store. Looks like I attracted another customer. Lucky!

You might be wondering what a high school student like me is doing here when I should be at school, listening to my pathetic teacher. Well, I’m different.

I live by myself in a small shabby apartment in this big city of Seoul. How do I pay for the rent? How do I manage to live by myself? I do part time jobs, of course. I actually wanted to have a single full time job but they won’t let me. Every place that I’ve been to only allows me to get a part time since I’m still seventeen—an underage.

It’s frustrating, I know, but I just resort to thinking about the positive side of things. At least I still get to earn money for myself and besides, there’s only a year left then I’ll finally be of legal age.

“Jaera, I thought you have school today?” My boss said, entering the back room as I removed my apron.

“We do have school.” I said, keeping my uniform inside my locker before pulling out my bag, ready to go to my next work. “But we

Chapter 60: This is my second time reading the ff (T▽T) author-nim you did a really good job ˊ▽ˋ i still love it even after years past. Reading this back reminds me a lot of past (〒︿〒) i miss the past so much the first time i read this when i was still in high school, still in my teens (not that im already old but yeah just entered twenties this year) anyway the story was great, honestly when you described jisoo i used to imagined her as sulli and i was shocked when you told us that you changed her name from sulli to jisoo bc tbh i think sulli fits the description more hahaha. Talk about jisoo, i like that girl yeah she might be annoying sometimes especially when it comes to her love for luhan but can i blame her when we all know that love is something we can't choose. It must also hurt her so much same as sehun.. I just want to hug and protect him so much (╥﹏╥) that boy really sacrificed so much for jaera and his luhan hyung lmao that show how big his heart. As for jaera and luhan...i love and ship both of them so much (ಥ_ಥ) both of them was definitely are destined for each other since from the start. They lost contacts from each other but years after that, they met again without knowing each other real identity but luhan..he still fell in love with jaera for the second time (ノ>ω<)ノ i like how he really cares for jaera (T_T) i even counted how much his nose bled over jaera in this ff..it was like five times before they are married and one time after they are married lmao that girl really did make him fell hard for her (^O^)/ . If only i can upvote this so many times, i would! ♡♡ thank you for the amazing ff author-nim hehehe ♡(◡‿◡✿)
