Chapter 6

“H-how, W-who…” I started.

She clicked her tongue as she walked closer to me. I started to back up, frightened, wondering what she could do to me. But just my luck. I hit a log and ended up on the floor not breaking eye-contact with her once. She chuckled and I mentally face-palmed at my clumsiness. She leaned down slowly and got close to me as I whimpered, frozen on the floor.

“Silly boy.” She said softly, her unusually cold breath blowing into the cave of my ear.

Leaning back, she my check with the back of her hand softly. “You’re quite a pretty boy. It’s a pity to see what will happen to your beautiful skin later.” She said thoughtfully, as If I wasn’t even there.

I started to visibly shiver in fear. The air had gotten colder, and the wind had gotten stronger. This woman, spirit, whatever she was, was quite beautiful, but then again, maybe she was too beautiful. She was hiding. It was a façade. Definitely.

“Silly boy,” she whispered again. “you should have listened to your friends…they’ll be coming to help you soon. They know I’m here. But if they come, I’m quite worried how you’ll cope with losing so many dear friends at once…” she leaned her head back and laughed evilly.

 If this was a cartoon, I’d probably be laughing by now. I don’t believe in this stuff.  But no, this is real. And it’s kind of hard not to believe right now… I saw her white hair glimmer in the moonlight as if it was glowing…it was as thin as silk and very long and flow-y. quite beautiful, but the fact the she was evil just made me hate it, hate her.

I silently prayed for Donghae to come rescue me. Well actually I didn’t think of him purposely, but maybe it was because he was my soulmate now, by body willed for him naturally. Soon enough, the constant ruffling of the grass got louder and we heard voices approach us. A smile was threatening to break out on my face before I remembered my situation.

Jessica seemed to hear them too and I saw her slowly stand up and back away. I couldn’t understand why though. I thought she wanted to fight them…I stood up slowly too, hearing them come closer slowly. I heard a voice yell out. It was Donghae. “Hyukkie! Lee Hyuk Jae!! Where are you?!” a smile broke out onto my face as he finally broke through the trees and ran to me.

He came and skidded to a stop right infront of me.

“Hi.” I grinned stupidly as I lifted my hand to wave. His infamous gummy smile washed over his handsome features as he stepped forward and pulled me into a crushing hug. I hugged him back, and I felt a rush of emotion. Love, warmth, care and strength. I pulled away from the hug and stated, “Lets go Hae, we have a to smack.”

He only grinned in response and grabbed my hand. “Lets go!”

But just as we were going to take a step we heard an evil laugh, cackle, whatever, resonate throughout the clearing. We watched, frozen, as a few owls flew away, scared at the sudden noise. She, Jessica, materialised out of thin air right infront of our faces. Then disappeared,  and reappeared a few metres away.

“Don’t worry,” Donghae whispered urgently, “She works alone. We have our whole group here. There are a few you are yet to meet, but they’re on our side. Okay?”

I nodded mutely, too scared to talk, yet anticipating the, uhhh, battle(…?) that was to begin.

Thankfully, she didn’t hear us or see the quick peck on the cheek that Donghae gave me. My eyes widened in surprise but he just smiled sadly. “You have to help me live. From now on, we’re one person. I help you, you help me. We work as a team.”

Of course, I’d played team sports before. Cricket, Basketball, Baseball; I’ve played it all. And I’m rather good. But this is different. Its life or death. I couldn’t deny the fact that I was scared to death! no.pun.intended.

YAY I UPDATED AGAIN! :D but its so short :/ but i wrote like half of the next chapter so...hmmm....it seems this is like a teaser...? :p

Ermmm...so when i wrote this, the beginning was like, creeping me out...hgdfkusgfmz imagine that happening to you...creeeeeepyyy
