"The patient is fine", the doctor came out of Minzy room and spoke to the boys who were waiting for him, "She's just sleeping now, but once she wakes up you can take her home."

 

"Doctor are you sure she's ok? She was bleeding quite a lot!", Daesung said frantically, "Please check her again."

 

The doctor shook his head and calmed Dae down, "SInce it wasn't a very deep cut on her head, it was easy to stop the bleeding, she'll need to keep the dressing on for a few days but after that she'll be fine."

 

 

"Thank you doctor", GD walked up to him, "Can we see her?"

 

"Sure", the doctor nodded before walking away.

 

 

 

The boys walked into the room and stared at their sister sleeping with a bandage wrapped around her head.

 

 

"Those ing b*stards!", TOP muttered clenching his fists together, "Wait till I get my hands on the boss!"

 

"Don't bother", GD said, "I've already sent him a message, the next time he comes in front of me I'll blow his head off."

 

"Well...atleast Minzy's fine", Taeyang sighed with relief going to sit on the bed by her feet, "If the girls weren't there."

 

GD's eyes flickered slightly remembering how scared Dara looked when she saw him and he closed his eyes taking a deep breath.

 

 

"How are the girls by the way?", Seungri asked going to sit beside Minzy now.

 

"They're still in the emergency ward", Daesung sighed.

CL opened the curtain partitions to reveal Dara sitting on the bed in a daze.

 

 

"Hey, what did the doctor say?"

 

"Huh?" Dara startled slightly.

 

"What did the doctor say?", CL repeated as she sat on the bed.

 

"Oh...sprained my ankle, and...and got a stitches on my leg too", Dara smiled weakly, "You?"

 

"No, I'm ok just a few cuts and grazes"

 

 

Dara nodded and then went back into a daze again.

 

 

"Are...you ok?", CL placed her hand on Dara's knee,"...Dara?"

 

"Huh?", Dara startled again.

 

 

"What is it?", CL furrowed her brows, "Are you hurt anywhere else?"

 

Dara shook her head slightly.

 

"Then what is it?"

 

Dara flinched slightly remembering how GD shot the guy's fingers off and she shuddered.

 

 

"Hey!", CL shook her slightly, "Are you ok? Shall I call someone?"

 

Dara shook her head, "No...I'm...just...a bit"

 

"Shocked?", CL asked.

 

Dara nodded.

 

"Nothing happened though, Minzy's fine and we're fine too."

 

Dara shook her head, "no...not that..."

 

"...then what?", CL asked slowly.

 

"He...he.."

 

"Who?", CL asked again, "Dara whats' wrong? You're scaring me!"

 

Dara looked up at her and gulped nervously, "Did...did you not see how...Jiyong..."

 

CL took a deep breath, "GD... scared you didn't he?"

 

Dara nodded, "I don't think I've ever seen someone so brutal and inhumane CL! There was just pure anger in his eyes, I...I....", Dara took a deep breath, "How can there be a person like him??!"

 

 

CL nodded, "I know how you feel but please don't think about that right now ok?", CL patted her leg calming her down, "I'm gonna go get you some water."

 

 

CL stood up and opened the curtains partitions, she gasped when she saw Taeyang and GD standing outside.

 

 

Dara looked up when she heard CL gasp and her eyes widened when she saw the two boys too. GD was looking away but she could still notice a tint of sadness in his eyes. She tried to say something, but GD just looked at the water bottle he was holding and gave it to Taeyang before walking away. Dara couldn't help but feel guilty suddenly, did he hear everything?"

 

 

Taeyang paused for a moment before walking in, he stood in front of the table beside Dara's bed and stared at the water bottle that GD gave him.

 

 

"You think you saw a brutal and inhumane monster back there", Taeyang said slowly, "But I saw something different....I saw a man trying to protect his family", he placed the bottled on the table before walking out.

TOP walked down the hospital corridor when he noticed Bom exiting the building. He furrowed his brows, what was she doing trying to go off on her own in her state. He picked up his pace and followed her out. Once outside he saw her sitting down on a bench and staring into the darkness.

 

 

He knew she was upset about shooting a guy, and usually if it was anyone else he would have just told them to man up but how could he say that to her?

 

He walked up to her and sat quietly next to her. Bom didn't even acknowledge his presence, she continued to stare into space in her zombie like state.

 

TOP sighed and leaned back on the bench looking up at the sky.

 

 

After a while Bom finally sighed heavily and looked up at the sky with him, "I...I....ki...."

 

"I know", TOP said softly, "CL told me what happened there...thank you for saving Minzy."

 

 

"Saving?", she mumbled, "Why can't I see it that way?"

 

 

TOP furrowed his brows and looked at her.

 

 

"All I can see is the moment...I..pulled the..tr-trigger", she stuttered. In her three years in the police, sure she'd shot at people but she'd never killed anyone. She'd shot at them to stop them, never to kill them, she just couldn't bring herself to kill anyone. But when she saw the man carrying Minzy away, she'd aimed the gun at his head to kill him.

 

TOP fell silent not knowing how to comfort her.

 

 

"He...just....", Bom took a deep breath, "he...just fell", she bit her lip as she felt her tears welling up in her eyes.

 

"Bom-"

 

Bom shook her head, "TOP...you know when you shot that guy to save me back at the club I was so confused and I couldn't understand how you could just kill a man without hesitating."

 

TOP looked at his hands in deep thought.

 

 

"Well...I...I did the same", Bom stuttered as tears came rolling down her face, "I didn't even hesistate...or think...I just....shot him!", she broke down, curling herself together and crying into her knees.

 

 

TOP slightly startled at the state of her. For him he could kill a hundred bad men and sleep like nothing happened, but for her it was different. Even killing a bad person was a shock to her. Until now he didn't realise this hot headed, angry girl was actually an innocent one. He took a deep breath as he felt painful pangs in his chest as he watched her sob. He moved closer to her and without a pause pulled her into his embrace, he enclosed his arms around her tightly, as if protecting her.

 

Bom continued to cry in his embrace, "TOP....I...I...killed...a...man....ottoke....ottoke.."

 

TOP placed his hand on her head and her hair trying to calm her down, he clenched his jaw tightly knowing there was nothing he could say to help her.

Back in the apartment later that night, the girls helped Minzy into bed.

 

 

"There you are honey", Bom whispered covering Minzy with a blanket, "If you need anything call ok."

 

"Neh", Minzy nodded, as Bom pulled away Minzy grabbed her hand, "Unnie...thank you...."

 

Bom's eyes watered again thinking about shooting the man.

 

"If it wasn't for you..."

 

"Let's forget about it neh", Bom smiled at her, "Go to sleep."

 

Minzy nodded and closed her eyes.

 

Bom crept out of her room and walked to the lounge where Seungri and CL were talking.

 

 

 

 

"Are you sure you don't want me to stay?", Seungri asked again.

 

"Seungri, nothing's going to happen to Minzy", CL said, "There's three of us."

 

"But you three aren't well either, I just don't feel right leaving you girls here alone", Seungri sighed.

 

"No one can access this building anyway", CL reassured him, "And we're fine."

 

"Ok, but call me if you need anything ok", Seungri said, "Anything!"

 

CL smiled slightly, "arasso"

 

"Ok then....night", Seungri sighed, he turned to Bom and nodded at her before leaving.

 

 

CL turned around to find Bom there, "Hey....is Minzy asleep now?"

 

"Yeah", Bom nodded.

 

"You should get some rest too", CL walked up to her and hugged her, "Bom-ah...what happened today-"

 

"No don't", Bom tried to push her off.

 

But CL just tightened her embrace, "You saved someone Bom...you saved someone.."

 

Bom's lips started trembling and she hugged CL back.

 

"You saved someone", CL repeated.

Dara laid in her bed and stared at the ceiling,

 

 

'You think you saw a brutal and inhumane monster back there...but I saw something different, I saw a man trying to protect his family.'

 

 

She closed her eyes and sighed, why was it so confusing? Why was she even confused? He is brutal! He is a monster! But what about all those times he's saved her, did those tiny little things like find her bracelet, carry her home....the kiss. She sighed again and turned to her side to look at the clock.

 

3 am.

 

She groaned and stared at the dark ceiling again. Why did she feel so guilty? Why did she feel like she had to say sorry? When she saw that he'd heard what she'd said about him at the hospital, the sad look on his face she just couldn't erase it from her memory. She shook her head, this wasn't working, she flung her covers off her and sat upright on bed.

GD laid in his bed with his eyes open like most nights. Since early childhood, he found it hard to sleep, perhaps because there was so much stress in his life or maybe something else but as much as he wanted, he couldn't sleep more than a few hours a night. But this night, he kept repeating two images in his head, the petrified look on Dara's face and what she said about him at the hospital....a brutal and inhumane being.

 

He suddenly snapped his head to the door when he heard his door bell ring. He furrowed his brows and checked the time..3:15 am, he looked back again when the door bell went off again. He sighed and took his gun out of the drawers and casually made his way to the front door. 

 

 

He scratched his head with the gun and placed it by his side before he opened the door to reveal Dara, "Dara?"

 

 

Dara looked up and looked down at the floor immediately when GD opened the door topless. She fidgited with her fingers and looked around until her eyes met the gun in his hand, she gasped in shock and stepped back, but landed on her bad ankle and fell onto the floor instead.

 

 

"oh sh!t Dara!", GD quickly kneeled in front and tried to pick her up.

 

But Dara saw him bring the gun he was holding closer to her and she gasped wide eyed again. GD startled slightly and then realised he was still holding the gun.

 

"sh!t sorry", GD threw his gun back into the apartment  and held his hands up, "ok...now?".

 

Dara calmed down slowly but still didn't make eye contact.

 

GD looked left and right down the corridor and sighed, he edged a bit closer to her and wrapped his arm around her back and the other under her legs and picked up.

 

Dara gasped and stared at him in shock as she leaned into him, he looked at her for a moment before carrying her into his apartment. She held onto his bare shoulder as he walked into his lounge. Dara's eyes betrayed her again and they fluttered up towards his face, she tilted her head slightly and looked at his features. No matter how much she looked at him, she still couldn't figure him out, she still couldn't get enough of him.

 

GD stood in front of the couch and gently placed her down, Dara slowly let of of his shoulder as she sat down. She looked at him with a confused expression as he kneeled in front of her and traced his thumb across her ankle.

 

"Did you hurt it again?", he asked softly.

 

Dara just kept looking at him, how could he speak so softly to her?

 

He looked up when she didn't reply and noticed her confused expression, he quickly looked back down at her ankle instead.

 

"...I'm...sorry I scared you back there...", he said still focusing on her bandaged ankle.

 

Dara's lips parted slightly as if to say something but nothing came out.

 

 

"Did you eat anything when you got back?", he asked again looking up at her.

 

Dara still in a daze shook her head. He sighed and stood up and headed off somewhere. For some reason after he left, Dara's hand traced her leg down to her ankle where he'd touched, she traced her ankle like how he had. Why did it feel so warm when he did it?

 

 

 

 

 

 

GD grabbed a white T-shirt on his way to the kitchen, he put it on and rummaged through his fridge. He paused for a moment, what was she even doing here? If she was scared of him why would she come here? He shook his head and grabbed something from the fridge and made his way back to the lounge.

 

He put the food on the table and turned around to her to find her fast asleep on the sofa.

 

He kneeled down in front of her and traced the strands of hair away from her face before tucking them behind her ear. He shook his head slightly, how could a girl who was so scared of him only a few hours ago fall asleep like this in his house. He sighed and pulled Dara up slightly to wrap his arm around her back and the other under her legs and gently picked her up. 

 

As soon as he did that, Dara's hands crept up and wrapped themselves around his neck. He paused slightly and looked down at the sleeping girl as she nuzzled the side of her face onto his chest.

 

He slowly started making his way to his bedroom with her in his arms.

 

"..jiyon..g..."

 

He looked down at her as she mumbled.

 

"mianhe...i...didn't realise...you were...only prote..cting...your...family...", she mumbled in her sleep as she leaned her head on his chest.

 

GD blinked slightly and a finally broke into a small smile.

 

"...mianhe..."

 

 

 

He walked into his room and laid her gently on his bed. Her hands slipped off his neck and fell to her sides as she slept. He traced her hair back again and slowly got up to leave the room and sleep on the sofa for the night when Dara's grabbed his hand, he looked at her but she was still asleep. He tried to gently release his hand from her but she turned to her side and placed her other hand over his and brought it close to her chest. 

 

GD blinked, confused at what to do but once he saw how peacefully she was sleeping he smiled warmly again and laid next to her and watched her as she slept.

 

 

 

"..jiyong.."

 

 

He furrowed his brows when she mumbled his name and smiled gently in her sleep. And soon after, for the first time in a long time, he felt his eyelids become heavier...and heavier until they closed.
