Just One Day - Bangtan Boys https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTcKkcyS410   ---------------------- Narrator’s P.O.V:     Yooyeon’s parents’ dying wish had been for her to find someone who truly loved her and cherished her. For her to receive a second chance at love and happiness.   Yooyeon didn’t believe that their wish would come true until she’d met Byunghun.   *   “Intern Lee Yooyeon, please report to Room 1104,” the PA system announced as Yooyeon scurried through the halls. She had been juggling many jobs for odd hours this whole week, and barely had any time to sleep. She’d also been working on her new invention, which took away a large chunk of her sleep time.   *Room 1104, 1104…* She rubbed her eyes as she made her way down the left wing, trying to find the room.   Bam! She bumped straight into someone. Papers she was holding scattered all over the place. *Darn!* She groaned, instantly bending down to pick them up.   The person bent down as well to gather the papers and handed them to her. As her head spun, she took the papers and bowed, but only got a quick glimpse of their lab coat and stethoscope.   In a flash, she was off.   Scratching their head, the person blinked in surprise. *I wonder why she was in such a rush?* The man shrugged and yawned when he noticed a small, blue notebook on the floor. He stared at it in wonder and picked it up.   *Maybe it was hers.*   *   After apologizing profusely for bending some of the papers she’d dropped, it was finally time for the interns to have their lunch break. Professional doctors and nurses hardly, had any time to eat, so Yooyeon was thankful that they at least got some time to spare.   While grabbing a tray of whatever she could get, Yooyeon slapped it down on one of the cafeteria tables and sipped some of her juice. While eating, she leaned her head on her palm and closed her eyes, trying hard not to go to sleep.   “You’ve got some mayo on your lip.”   Yooyeon’s eyes shot open to see a young man in a lab coat standing in front of her. He too, had a tray of food. He smiled amusedly, “Sleeping while eating, huh? I’ve gotta try that. Seems difficult, though.”   She poked her tongue out and the sauce off while staring at this strange person in slight irritation. When she was tired, she was cranky, despite her usual happy personality.   Who the heck was this guy? And why in the world was he disturbing her?   Before she could ask any questions, he set his tray down at her table, “You don’t mind if I eat here, do you?”   *Yes, I do.* She secretly thought, but Yooyeon knew better than to say that aloud.   “Um…”   “Your face is really pale,” the man noted. She blinked and scrutinized him strangely. His hair was dyed a chestnut brown, and his facial features were soft. Dare she say it, but it was rather pleasing to the eye.   “Are you alright?” He tilted his head.   Yooyeon snapped out of it and looked away haughtily, “Fine, thanks.”   “Alright, I guess.” He took a big bite of his sandwich, “So you’re an intern here too, huh? What are you here for?”   *Man, this guy sure is nosy.* She pursed her lips, but replied anyway. “I’m studying nursing.” *But only to figure out how the body works, so that I can continue with my invention.*   “Ah, I see,” Chestnut – which is what she’d decided to call him for the timebeing – nodded. He stared at her until she got the hint.   “How about you?” She grudgingly asked, “You’re studying how to be a doctor?”   “Yes, ma’am,” he agreed, “Very, very tiring job, but it’s fun to do.”   *Fun? Dealing with lives is fun?* Yooyeon was getting baffled by this guy.   “You looked like you were in quite a hurry before.”   “Excuse me?” Yooyeon stared at him.   “You bumped into me? And you dropped this, too.” He took out her blue notebook. Yooyeon was completely alert now, and instantly grabbed the notebook.   The man’s eyes widened, “Whoa there,” he raised his hands up in defense, “I didn’t do anything to it.”   *You better not have.* Yooyeon thought as she flipped through the pages. Seeing that everything was in order, she tucked it into her pocket.   Chestnut took a sip of his soda, “You have some really good ideas.”   Yooyeon automatically choked on her salami sub. She coughed loudly, and Chestnut’s eyes widened in alarm. Instantaneously, he was hitting her back, “Hey, you okay?!”   “Y-You,” she coughed, “You looked at my ideas?!”   Eventually, Chestnut stopped smacking her back and pulled away sheepishly. He rubbed his neck, “Um… I guess, curiosity killed the cat?”   “Unbelievable!” Yooyeon stood up. She’d lost all appetite. She despised nosy people and had never let anyone except those particularly close to her look at her ideas, “Look, Mister, I don’t know you, and you don’t know me, but I have no intention of being friends with strangers who stick their nose in my personal business.”   Now the centre of attention, Chestnut gawked in awe as she sauntered off. He watched as she left the cafeteria and he looked crestfallen. *That’s not the impression I wanted to leave…*   *   *Goodness! I can’t believe that guy!* Yooyeon was enraged. *The guy thinks he’s some Mr. Hotshot who can waltz out of nowhere be all rude and nosy?! No thanks!*   She began to make her way out to the front entrance for some fresh air outside when her vision started to feel a bit lightheaded.   She shook it off and continued to walk when all of a sudden, dizziness took over her and she swayed to the side. All she saw was black before she hit the ground.   *   When Yooyeon opened her eyes, she was lying in a hospital bed. She groggily raised her arm to see an IV needle taped to it.   *What just happened?* Her head spun as she tried to get up.   “Lie back down,” a voice soothed, and Yooyeon looked up to see Chestnut sitting there, looking somewhat worried, “You collapsed from exhaustion, so you’re probably still lightheaded.”   Before Yooyeon could argue, he spoke up, “Sorry.”   That made her stop.   “I didn’t realize that I was being so nosy… I didn’t mean it, really,” he hesitated, “It’s just… I’ve seen you around sometimes in the left wing, running around and working extremely hard. This morning, you seemed pale and exhausted, so I was worried and decided to approach you. I guess I’ve always wanted to talk to you, but I didn’t have the courage to…” He rubbed the back of his neck again, “Sorry about looking through your notebook too. There’s no excuse to cover it up, but I was just really curious since I always saw you drawing in it during lunch – not to sound like a stalker or anything. Your ideas were just really cool.”   She continued to stare at him.   “I won’t talk to you again if that’s what you want, and I promise I won’t steal your ideas! I just wanted to make sure that you were okay…” Chestnut bit his lip. When she didn’t say anything, he stood up from the stool he was sitting on, “I guess I’ll go now…”   “…Did you really like my ideas?”   Chestnut turned around in surprise and saw Yooyeon looking up at him in wonder. Her peachy complexion had returned.   It wasn’t long before Chestnut broke out into a genuine smile, “Of course!”   *   Yooyeon eventually found out that Chestnut’s name was actually Lee Byunghun. After that incident, she had also made a new discovery – Byunghun was, in fact, very kind, caring, and sweet, contrary to the way he had been before when he’d first met her. He also always took care of her by giving her heat packs and pain relief patches.   Pretty soon, they had lunch together everyday and spent most of their free time together in the hospital.   “So? You like this guy, or what?”   Yooyeon stopped in the middle of speaking to stare at the little kid she’d been talking to. He stared at her through his chocolate orbs and watched her expectantly.   The boy was one of the patients that permanently resided at Seoul Hospital, and she regularly tended to him. She’d also spent a lot of her time with him, since he was pretty much alone.   Everyone called him Jun, but nobody knew his actual name – not even himself. He was born nameless, and was an orphan. He was under the current care of the orphanage, and was pretty unsocial; therefore, he barely had any visitors. At a young age, both his legs had been lost, and his arms were paralyzed due to a major vehicle accident that killed both of his parents. The terrible accident had not only taken his ability to walk, but had also taken his eyesight, as well.    He was also the main reason and inspiration for Yooyeon’s new invention.   “N-No, I don’t!” Yooyeon replied, mortified, as Jun deviously smirked, “Noona, you’re a liar. If you don’t like him, why’s your face all red?”   “Jun!” Yooyeon bit her lip in embarrassment. The boy cheekily laughed, “Just make your move, noona. If he’s been sta
