With rain showering the whole city, residents had no choice but to stay cooped up in their homes, miserably waiting for the storm to pass.   Today wasn’t a pretty day at all. It was quite ugly, to be honest.   And on this ugly, dreary morning, precisely at 6:15, L. Joe opened his eyes.   No, it wasn’t because of the wind causing havoc outside, or the sound of the rain flicking pellets of water against his windowpane.   The android awoke simply because of a hand shaking his arm rather violently.   The minute his eyes fluttered open, he came face-to-face with large, curious orbs, peering up at him from under messy black hair.   He stared at the figure for a while, eyes unfocused and vision unclear. He swore for a second he saw someone else—someone who seemed like Miyoung, but wasn’t.   Instead of Miyoung’s almond-shaped, striking eyes, she had softer ones that were shaped like crescents. The same dark hair rested on top of her head, but the woman did not have bangs. All her hair was the same length, and parted to the side. Other than that, she had similar facial features—the same milky-peach skin, angular nose, and cherry-red lips…   “Byunghun,” she whispered.   At that precise moment, L. Joe’s cloudy vision refocused, and the hallucination of the similar-looking lady was gone.   Miyoung was in her place, gazing at him with an unreadable expression.   For a second, he forgot all about his bizarre dream and stared at the girl in front of him, sitting on the side of his bed.   “Miyoung,” he croaked back.   Miyoung looked relieved when she saw that he was fine. She leaned back, “Are you okay? You kept whimpering in your sleep.”   After Byunghun hesitantly nodded and sat up, he gazed at her rather cautiously. His insides warmed at the sight of her, and it comforted him to see her face, especially after a frightening dream like the one he had.   Contemplating it for a bit, he reached out and touched the crown of her head. Her dark hair felt silky smooth, and at once, with that little contact, he was reassured.   “…What’s wrong?” She said, still a bit fazed by the sudden gesture.   Byunghun let out the breath he was holding.   “Nothing. Just wanted to make sure you were real.”   “Huh?” Miyoung furrowed her eyebrows.   L. Joe just gave her a lopsided smile and shook his head, signalling that it wasn’t important. From the corner of his eyes, he caught a glimpse of the clock.   “How come you came to my room so early in the morning? You like to sleep in on your days off.” He tilted his head to the side, genuinely confused.   Miyoung pau
