As far as ex-lovers should go, it's secretly advisable and far more convenient to avoid them like the plague. For Park Joo Yeon, this should have been easy: she's only had one ex-boyfriend in her lifetime and he's left Korea to study in America. So when Joo Yeon and her new boyfriend, SHINee's fading superstar maknae, Lee Taemin, accidentally bump into him at his new coffee shop, it's only natural to distance herself from him. The only problem is, she doesn't. There is no question how deep Taemin's trust and devotion is with Joo Yeon, but it starts to run shallow when he finds out that his girlfriend has been seeing her hotshot ex-boyfriend more often than appropriately recommended. Besides, he's got every right to feel insecure about Oh Jong Yoon. Just look at him; he's utterly gorgeous and seems to have his entire life spelled out for him. Being a world-renowned entertainer under Korea's biggest entertainment company is nothing compared to being part of a plummy family that reeks of power and wealth. The thing about relationships are the secrets that are shared between the two active parties. And then when these two parties split up, it starts to become a fragile house of cards, with its forbidden secrets cursing through it like an ill-wind tempting to knock it down. Jong Yoon's homecoming is far from a celebration. As the cracks begin to show in Joo Yeon and Jong Yoon's path, Taemin will start to exume the truth that's buried six feet under. |

Rating: PG15 for language and mild ual content
Author's Note: I left the entire Kpop fandom for awhile to pursue other interests (i.e. Sherlock tv show, One Direction, dating cute boys in real life, etc.) but I have been dipping my toes a little here and there. It was not until I resumed watching a drama that I stopped watching a couple months back did I finally realize how much I missed writing Shinee fanfics. Oh, and re-reading The Other Girl may have piqued my interest, too. Alot has happened to the fandom that I have yet to catch up on, like Shinee's "Dream Girl" comeback, but I just wanted to present this new piece of work featuring the one idol that I realize I can never stop loving: Lee Taemin. Enjoy!

"I'm young, so I make a lot of stupid mistakes, okay? But it's not like I do it out of spite. I'm just really, really stupid."
19 // Junior Writer // Seoul
"What Jong Yoon and I have - had, actually - is not something we could easily dismiss. It's really complicated."
19 // Heir // Seoul
"It's good to be back home again, and it was great to see Joo Yeon. However, I think she needs a real man. Not that fruit cake she's always with."
18 // Waitress // Seoul
"We're just friends; always have been. It's not like he'd ever develop feelings for me: all his past girlfriends had something to show for. I'm nobody."
