Forbidden Boys

Eunbi waited up for Luhan to get home. And when he did, she took him aside and demanded answers. She wanted to know more about Sehun and the reason as to why he tried to take his life. She’d not dared to ask him herself for obvious reasons, and had avoided him all together the whole evening.

“Why don’t you ask him yourself?” She gave him an are-you-kidding-me look before stating the obvious. That it would be insensitive to bring it up. More so because she wasn’t even supposed to know about it in the first place. Luhan scoffed at her. He found it incredible that she came to him only when she needed something. Like now. He refused to say anything though, without getting something in return. Information like that wasn’t just given out. Especially not when Eunbi was so interested to know more.

“And what do I get?” Luhan tilted his head to the side ever so slightly, a smile growing on his lips as he stared at the girl. He was so certain she would agree that his heart leaped in his chest. To his surprise and irritation, Eunbi refused. She wouldn’t give him anything. A feat that showed for his expression changed and he explained that she could deal with it herself because her sure as hell wouldn’t without a reward.

“It’s your brother for ’s sake.” She didn’t care whether she came off as rude or if Sehun happened to hear her outburst. Nothing of that bothered Eunbi at all for she was so pissed off at Luhan and at his lack of sympathy towards his younger brother. Sehun heard the commotion downstairs and exited his room to check out out, only to come to a halt at the top of the stairs when he saw Eunbi and Luhan together. He couldn’t see Eunbi’s face but noticed nonetheless that she seemed upset by the tone of her voice.

“Wow. What a good brother you are.” Eunbi spoke with sarcasm and then interrupted Luhan, who tried to speak.

“Seriously. The only reason I want to know is because I care about him. Something you don’t seem to do. I mean. Did it ever cross your mind that he might try again?” She let run despite not knowing anything about what’d taken place. She didn’t even know the reason behind Sehun’s suicide attempt. Their mother’s death was a possible trigger. But Eunbi wondered if that was really it, seeing as it passed quite some time between the death and the attempt.

“Oh. So you know everything now? Did it ever cross your mind how it affected me?” Luhan snapped. He was thoroughly pissed off now. She had no right to come and tell him anything. Especially not about that. She had no clue how his brother’s suicide attempt affected him. How devastated he felt when he found out he almost lost Sehun. How he almost got left behind because of the other’s stupid decision. Rage built up as the memories resurfaced. Memories that’d never left him and that constantly popped up in his thoughts. They were always present. But the sorrow he’d first felt was now hatred. He hated his brother for what he’d done.

Eunbi fell silent because she knew he was right. His feelings had never crossed her mind. But Luhan needed to understand that his own actions affected Eunbi’s opinion about him. His rude behaviour was not a hit either, something he should’ve known by now. Plus. Sehun was the only person in the whole household that seemed to care about her. Even her mother fell behind as a result of the immense work hours that took up most of the time, which was a huge disappointment for Eunbi, who’d thought it would’ve been different after they moved to Seoul. But the promise her mother made about not overworking went down the drain. And Eunbi was suffering because of it.

“You’ve got nothing to say now, huh?” Luhan ends the sentence just as he spots Sehun on top of the staircase. He’d completely forgotten about the latter and blinked, rather surprised by his brother’s appearance. Eunbi hadn’t caught sight of Sehun yet. But she glanced over her shoulder in the direction Luhan was looking after she saw how the expression on his face changed. Her heart skipped a beat when she noticed Sehun. And to make matters worse, he stared right at her, his usual frown evident. He said nothing though, and Eunbi panicked when he stepped back, headed for his bedroom, and locked the door. Countless thoughts rushed through her head for she feared the worst. That he would do something drastic.

Eunbi wouldn’t take any chances and therefore darted towards the stairs, only to be stopped as Luhan latched onto her arm and thus restrained her from moving. To Eunbi’s dismay he refused to let go, telling her that she should let his brother be. A feat that was ridiculously hard for the girl, who’d become really worried of Sehun’s well being. Even more so after getting to know about his past.

“Don’t think he’s the only victim.” Eunbi paid no attention to Luhan’s words and instead pulled away, her focus entirely on Sehun. She needed to speak with him and hurried upstairs as soon as Luhan let go of her arm. The beats of her heart increased with every step she took and it was racing by the time she knocked on Sehun’s bedroom door. There was no answer. Just silence. Silence that ate away at Eunbi, who knocked once more. This time so hard it hurt. But there was still nothing. Sehun didn’t seem all too willing about unlocking the door, which made her wonder if there was something she could do. There had to be a key somewhere. Eunbi hesitated though, afraid that something might happen whilst she was gone.

“Open the ing door, Sehun.” It was a drastic and risky move from her side considering she had no idea how he would react at her outburst. She didn’t really care to be honest, if he pulled the door open and yelled at her, because she would at least know he was alright. It’d certainly come to a breaking point for Eunbi and she ignored the fact that it was almost midnight as her knuckles collided with the door numerous times. Her mind was so clouded with Sehun and the horrible thoughts that Eunbi could barely hide her relief when the door finally flew open. Sehun on the other hand didn’t look as happy. He was irritated and angry. Not only at Luhan. But Eunbi as well.

“I never thought you would do something behind my back.” He was disappointed to say the least. Eunbi didn’t know what he was talking about though, and blinked at him. She told him she hadn’t gone behind his back. Why would she even do that when he was one of the very few that sincerely cared about her.

“Oh really. Then please explain how you suddenly seem to know so much? I haven’t told you anything.” Well. When he put it like that it looked like she’d done something unethical. But what else could she have done when he refused to tell her anything? Why couldn’t he simply accept that she was looking out for him. That she was worried about his wellbeing.

“Fine. I asked Luhan about your secret because I wanted to know what made you so uneasy. Not because I want to ridicule you. I’m not your enemy okay. In fact. I truly care and don’t want you to go around feeling depressed about something that happened years ago.” Eunbi was so worked up over the whole situation that she let run. Everything was sincere and she hoped he would understand that, too. All Eunbi said and did then and there was so that Sehun would realize that he wasn’t alone. That she was someone he could rely on if needed. But there was an underlying hesitation from Sehun’s side. He was still a bit skeptical and unsure. A side effect of all the he’d been through and experienced throughout the years. People who took advantage of his pain was not exactly uncommon and something that’d happened several times before. And as a result, Sehun couldn’t help but to wonder if that was really it.

“Really?” He wanted to believe her. He really did. But there were so many things that bothered him. The fact that she’d talked about it with Luhan didn’t exactly ease his worries.

“What do you mean? Do you think I’m lying?” His words felt like a punch in the stomach for Eunbi, who was shocked and hurt by what he implied. She would never have guessed he thought so low of her. She couldn’t really understand why either. Why did he not trust her? Because of the conversation with Luhan? Because he’d been the one who revealed the secret?

“Glad to know you have such trust in me.” Eunbi sighed, mentally exhausted by the whole ordeal and Sehun’s reaction, before she her heel. It’d all been in vain for he did still not realize that she was on his side. Frustrated by this, she decided to just head to bed. A decision that was cut short when arms wrapped around her from behind. Puzzled by Sehun’s action, Eunbi glanced over her shoulder and looked at him. Her heart stirred when his eyes found hers.

“I want a favor.” It took Eunbi a second or two to fully understand what he was asking for. And when she did, she gulped and slowly nodded her head. Denying the request wasn’t possible either, seeing as she’d once agreed to it. That she would do whatever he asked for. Sehun on the other hand, knew it was now or never as he spun her around to face him. His heart raced at the thought of what he would do. Something he’d waited far too long for. Eunbi, too, could feel her heartbeat increase. And a gasp slipped from her tongue when his hand cupped her chin, which he tipped up so she met his eyes.

A mixture of emotions swirled in her head and she found herself grasp onto him when he leaned in. His lips brushed against hers in a manner that made her crave more. There was no going back now for Eunbi pressed herself against him and thus encourage Sehun, who took the initiative and deepened the kiss. It was sweet and gentle and she shivered in delight when his other hand came to rest on her waist.

Eunbi couldn’t care less whether this was wrong because in her heart it felt so right.
