Forbidden Boys
She found out pretty soon that the person needing help wasn’t her mother, but rather a certain brown-haired boy who didn’t seem to know how to use a knife. “Could you help Sehun cut some vegetables whilst Mrs. Oh and I head down to the supermarket?” she was reluctant to the offer, but didn’t dare go against the older woman and therefore nodded her head, thus agreeing to help out. “Thank you dear.” Eunbi let an awkward smile paint her lips as their grandmother added on, “I’m really sorry for this. It was never my intention to let you kids work.” neither she or Sehun said anything, and instead watched as the two adults headed for the door. Mrs. Oh came to a halt though, right before passing the kitchen door and Eunbi saw how the woman turned to face them again, “and Sehun, behave.” laughter escaped the old woman’s mouth, to which Sehun rolled his eyes, “grandma, don’t say weird things like that. People might misunderstand.” Eunbi stared at the older male, squinting her eyes and wondering whether he would listen, as he wasn’t exactly known to follow rules or what other people told him. “Yeah, yeah. Just look out for each other.”
A moment later it was quiet again and Eunbi were still staring at the older male, obviously skeptical about what he might do. “Don’t stare. Your eyes might fall out.” in pure instinct she reached up and ran her hands over her face, actually believing his words. “You truly are stupid.” his tone and the way he spoke was so indifferent, like he couldn’t care less. It’d even come a certain point where Eunbi wondered whether he could show emotions, as he always showed the same facial expression. “Can’t you come up with something new?” the word stupid was getting a bit overused, “I mean. Your vocabulary can’t be so limited, right?” Sehun smacked his lips, irritated, before he spun around and began to chop the bell peppers, a feat Eunbi noticed didn’t go too well. “Ehm, the pieces are supposed to be even.” it was obvious Sehun had no idea what he were doing, something that became even more noticeable when he spoke, “at least I’m trying.” just like every other time he sounded uninterested and completely apathetic, and in the midst of it all Eunbi started to question why she was supposed to help out in the first place.
“Well then. Since you’re so good at managing this by yourself I’ll leave.” Sehun made no attempt to stop her, and she was halfway out the door when a loud, “ing .” caught her attention and the girl moved about to check what he’d done. She regretted it though, the second she saw blood oozing from his pinkie finger, a sight that made her sick to her stomach. “Don’t just stand there, do something.” Sehun snapped and she blinked up at him, unsure of what he wanted her to do, “w -what?” blood and injuries caused a great threat to Eunbi, who had trouble even looking at the older male. “What the do you think? Band-aid maybe?” and where was she supposed to find that? It wasn’t like she knew the house and where things were. Plus, why would she help him? He’d never been nice to her before. “Yah. Are you going to get it or what?” okay. Fine. He didn’t have to yell.
She headed out the door in search for a first aid kit or something equal to that. The task of doing so was hard though, considering she'd been in the house for less than half an hour, and therefore had no idea where things were stacked. Because of that Eunbi ran back to the kitchen, "how can I get band-aid when I have no clue where it is?" she could feel the panic eating its way through, a reaction to the overwhelming problem she’d suddenly had to face. "Hurry. Tell me." The scenario was out of the ordinary, as Eunbi were reacting just as freaked out as Sehun. "Check the cabinets in the bathroom." the sentence had barely been completed before she was half-running down the hallway and in the direction of where Eunbi believed the bathroom was located.
Luck decided to be on her side for the first time in awhile, because she found a small red bag with a white cross printed on it inside the cabinet under the sink. She grabbed it in her hand and was right about to head back when she heard the lock on the door turn, thus indicating the door was shut close and that someone else had joined her in the cramped space. "You should look out for yourself more. I mean, you can never be too careful right?" hearing his voice increased the panic and it didn't take long before the anxiousness she's felt earlier to come back. "I don't have time for you." she needed to get back to Sehun. Not only so she could help, but also so she would get away from Luhan.
The male smirked, "why?" he had to suffer from a prince syndrome or something, as he obviously thought the world revolved around him. "I don't have time to explain." all the adrenaline rushing through her system caused her to stalk forward towards Luhan and the door, "get out of my way." much to Eunbi's surprise and shock he did just that. He took a step to the side and she couldn't help but to glance between the door and Luhan. One didn't have to be a genius to understand he was up to something. "I thought you were leaving?" Eunbi shot him a glare, much like the one Sehun all so often showed her, "I'm not stupid. I know you're going to do something." he kept on staring but remained quiet up until she reached out for the doorknob. Only then did he make his move by latching onto Eunbi's arm, "I'm going to make one thing clear," he stopped to savor the moment and to watch the younger girl's reaction, "I won't stop until you're done -broken." what he didn’t expect though, was the lack of emotions from Eunbi’s side. He’d been pretty sure she would freak and make a big deal out of it.
And because of that Eunbi managed to escape his claws and escape, which was a first. But what she didn’t know, was that Luhan let her go. Not that any of it mattered because most of it was long forgotten by the time she ran up to Sehun, the aid-kit in her hands, “here.” she took a few steps back, eager to get away from all the blood. “Don’t. Help me fix this.” Eunbi wasn’t sure whether her ears deceived her or not, as it almost sounded like he was asking for help. “B -but -.” Sehun cut her off, “I can’t stand blood okay. So you have to help.” she stared at him, eyes wide and mouth agape. It seemed close to impossible that the both of them shared the same fear. It was a bit ridiculous actually.
“No. I -I can’t.” Eunbi spun around so she wouldn’t have to see, as the sight of the red liquid were starting to affect her stomach and gag reflexes in a negative way. “Just clean it up and put a band-aid on it.” still having her back to him she answered, “no. I’m not doing it.” to anyone else the scene must’ve been quite comical considering they were bickering about a small injury and a little blood. But to Eunbi, and probably Sehun alike, it was a much more serious matter. “Why do you have to be so bothersome? It’s just blood.” she wanted to slap him over the head. But then again, he couldn’t possibly know she was just as scared of the substance as he were.
“What’s going on in here?” their dad darted inside out of nowhere and without thinking, Eunbi spun around to face the older male, who glanced between the two teenagers before taking notice of the blood. “Come on, let’s get that cleaned up.” the man headed up to Sehun and the aid-kit, “you should be more careful.” Eunbi couldn’t help but to agree, more so since they both would’ve been spared the horror of seeing blood. And it was with such thought in mind that she went to grab some fresh air, something she believed was well needed after all that. On the way out though, did she run into mrs. Oh and her mother, the latter immediately asking why she looked so pale, “Sehun. Blood.” no further words were necessary, as her fear for blood was something she’d struggled with ever since she was young and injured herself badly. “Is he alright?” Eunbi nodded her head, if not slightly hesitant, “I think so.” the two women rushed inside, the door shutting close and thus leaving the girl by herself again. It was the first time her mother didn’t ask whether she was okay, and it made her frustrated and a bit nervous because she was scared of being forgotten, to be shoved aside and replaced by Sehun and Luhan, especially since her mother was the only family, besides her grandmother, that she had left.
The sudden sound of footsteps had Eunbi turning her back to whoever was coming. She didn’t want to look pathetic standing there with tear filled eyes and therefore hurried to wipe them away with the back of her hand. Still, she felt bad about not being able to help with Sehun’s injury, because not even his actions of being a jerk was good enough reason to wish him pain and hurt. “Just go inside and act like normal.” a task that would’ve worked if it hadn’t been for that she almost ran into Sehun, who’d placed himself directly in her path sometime during the time she’d been deep in thought. He held onto a cigarette, which he put to his lips right as she was about to pass him by, thus making sure Eunbi saw the bandaged finger. “Does it hurt?” she had a hard time meeting his gaze and bit her lip as he stared at her, almost as if asking why she hadn’t helped out when he hurt himself. “I can’t stand blood either, it makes me sick.”
