Forbidden Boys

Eunbi avoided Sehun and Luhan the best she could from then and thus made sure she wouldn’t be in the way. In fact, the girl stuck to her mother’s side the whole Saturday, too scared to be alone. But the sudden change in character had the older woman questioning what was wrong and why her daughter was behaving as such. Eunbi hadn’t answered truthfully, that her step brothers were the reason for her behaviour. Nor had she told her mother what they’d done in fear of making it worse. Instead she lied. And now that Sunday rolled around Eunbi kept herself locked inside her bedroom, something that didn’t feel all too safe after Luhan managed to get a hold of a key. But to spend yet another day following after her mother would only spark more unwanted attention. So in order to make it a bit better she’d pushed a chair up against the door and made sure to make it impossible for anyone to open it from the outside. The solution was smart, but also quite irritating as well. Not to mention bothersome as her mother suddenly stood outside her bedroom door and asked why she’d locked it.

“I’m trying to study and don’t want to be interrupted.” it was an excuse Eunbi knew would work, especially since the older woman was incredibly strict about school and the fact that she should use her free time to study. “Okay. I understand. But Taehyun’s parents want to meet us all in an hour.” how delightful. Not. She was not in the mood to meet anyone at the moment, something she made clear right away, “must I go? I really don’t want to.” Eunbi hoped her mother would agree, that it was better if she stayed home and studied. If only she’d known how wrong she would be. “Yes, you must go. They’ve been wanting to meet us for several weeks already.” a sigh rolled off her lips just as she stood up, “are Luhan and Sehun coming too?” the latter she didn’t care too much about, as it was the oldest of the two who were the biggest problem and the one who caused the most trouble for her. “Of course.” not that Eunbi expected anything else, even though she’d wished and hoped they would’ve stayed home or vanished off somewhere, “Mm, okay.” she felt her nails sink into the palm of her hands, the pain overshadowed by her thoughts of all the things that could happen.

The scenarios painted up in her head consisted of everything ranging from Luhan pressing himself into her to the most severe one with Sehun dumping her body in the Han river. She shook her head, thus clearing the bothersome images from her head, just as her mother’s voice filled her ears, “honey, you should start getting ready.” and she did. But it took time and immense willpower from Eunbi’s side, who feared Luhan would try and get revenge for what’d taken place two days earlier. It wasn’t like he seemed to care whether their parents were home, nor did he seem to fear being caught in action.

Therefore and because of that did it come as a surprise when Luhan simply walked passed her in the hallway. He paid absolutely no attention to Eunbi at all, which should’ve been positive in her eyes. But it wasn’t. It only made her more anxious of what he had planned. And it was with a growing uneasiness she headed down and made way over to the car were everyone else was already waiting. Luhan were the first to acknowledge Eunbi’s presence, something he did by sending her a wink, one that sent shivers down her spine. “There you are. I was starting to get worried.” she looked up and glanced towards her mother, glad to have been distracted from Luhan and his disgusting act. ”Are you ready to go?” no, not at all, was what Eunbi wanted to say. She didn’t of course, as such rebellion would most likely grant her more days of being grounded. “Mm.”

Fifteen minutes later she sat in the back seat, squeezed between the two males. A result of Sehun refusing to sit next to his older brother. But just like any other time, Eunbi had to obey and do whatever they said even though she didn’t want to. And as if that wasn’t already bad enough, Luhan decided to add on with the burden by brushing his hand along her thigh once in awhile, an action that had her inching closer and closer toward Sehun, who hissed, annoyed, “what are you doing?” Eunbi wasn’t give a chance to explain and were instead violently pushed the other way, her body crashing right into Luhan’s. “What’s going on back there?” their father sounded upset, which was quite understandable considering how neither of his two sons could behave like adults, and it sure didn’t get better when she noticed her mother staring straight at her.

“Eunbi, I’m glad you’ve come to terms with Luhan. But maybe you should consider he might not like such excessive contact.” her mother had to be kidding. Nothing about her current situation was to her liking and definitely not something she’d opted. “I don’t mind since its my cute little sister.” Eunbi was sure she felt bile rising up , because it was all so disgustingly fake and to make matters worse, Luhan pinched her cheek. “You’re too nice.” what in the world was going on? How was it even possible for her mother to compliment that ? Couldn’t the woman see what was going? That Luhan was a two-faced devil.

She was in a terrible mood as they, half an hour later, stepped out of the car. Not even the sunny weather could cheer her up, which was a rare occasion. That Luhan kept on pestering her in the car was still fresh in mind and Eunbi shot the older male a glare as they all stood there, outside the door to these unfamiliar people she wanted no relation with. Not when their whole family was completely messed up. “Behave now. We don’t want last time to repeat itself.” last time? The girl looked at her stepfather, as if waiting for a further explanation. But he didn’t say anything more and revealed nothing about what’d happened the previous time. At least not then and there. “Luhan. Sehun. I’m being serious.” the threat seemed to have no effect on the two males, because none of them reacted. They wouldn’t even look at their father when he spoke. Talk about rude.

An elderly woman with a big, welcoming smile greeted them all once the door open, and Eunbi couldn’t help but to feel a bit warmer inside. “I’m so glad you all could come.” hugs were shared before the adults stepped inside the foyer, thus leaving Eunbi behind with Luhan and Sehun. “Aren’t you supposed to go inside?” it was one of the more stupid questions she’d ever asked, because both males stared at her like she was an idiot. “Forget it.” with that Eunbi brushed past them and headed after her mother, whom she found in the kitchen talking to the elderly woman. “Mom. I think there’s something wrong with Luhan and Sehun.” in pure habit she glanced out the window, only to see that they both stood there. None of the two moved an inch and instead stared right ahead, almost as if there were something holding them back.

“Don’t worry about them. They’ll come in when they’re ready.” she didn’t really understand why they were acting as such, why they needed to prepare themselves like that. But the thought was shoved aside by her mother, who insisted on introducing the girl, “Mrs. Oh, this is my daughter. Eunbi.” yet another smile was sent her way and she bowed her head in respect, “hello.” there were a slight awkward feeling to it, one that shifted in all haste as the older woman cooed, “such a sweetheart.” because a pang of guilt, love and sorrow overwhelmed Eunbi as she remembered how her own grandmother used to call her that. It brought back memories from when she was younger. “Can I be excused?” she weren’t too keen about crying in front of others, especially if they also happened to be people she didn’t know. “Of course. You can look around if you want to as well.” Eunbi headed off without a thought. She didn’t care where she was going, something that ended with a straight on collision with Sehun, who glared down at her, “are you stupid? Can’t you look where you’re going?” in difference to the previous time Eunbi paid no attention to his outburst. Instead she ignored him by walking away, an action that Sehun scoffed at.

She ended up in the living room a few moments later, a room that were filled to the brim with pictures. They were literally everywhere, on the walls, in the bookshelves and on top of the fireplace shelf. It looked like a modern museum with its copious amounts of photographs, and somewhere deep down Eunbi was relieved, as it eased her mind to think about something else for awhile. Not that it was a given fact though, because Luhan interrupted all too suddenly, “isn’t it my cute dongsaeng.” and Eunbi spun around in haste, she wanted to make sure he stood his ground and didn’t get any closer, “leave me alone for god’s sake.” her statement however, resulted in nothing more than laughter from Luhan’s side, “why?” he inched forward, step by step until Eunbi had nowhere to escape, “am I not allowed to show affection for my little sister?” what a joke. None of his acts displayed a proper sister-brother love. They were only downright erse and revolting. “Get away from me before I scre -.” she was cut off by another voice, “Eunbi could you come and help out in the kitchen?” thank god for her mother or she would’ve fallen prey for Luhan yet again. “Okay, I’ll be right there.” it was Eunbi’s time to smile, and she made sure to rub it in his face, “see you.”
