“You’re like my muse, Aaron Yan, and even I wouldn’t be able to reject such an exquis garçon [exquisite boy]” the pale young girl said, while setting fire to her cigarette. After getting to know Aaron, she was trying to quit the smoking, but she had quit some problems with it.
“Okay, what’s a muse, and what did…? Those French words mean?”

“Well, writing a poem isn’t that hard, actually. Every person has their own personal style… Some people writes about their sadness, and some writes about love. Some rhyme, and some don’t… It’s completely up to yourself how you’re going to work on the challenge” Ying Jie tried to stop it, but she couldn’t; an actual smile was appearing on her usually so painful face. She stopped smiling right after, but Aaron seemed to have noticed it, though.
“Then, try to write a poem about coffee…”

“Superficial people outside my window – busy, ignorant and important – on the phone, heels talking to strangers – ‘clip clap’ it says – ‘ring ring’ the phones answers – blindly following their coffee-drinking owners – not enjoying it – tormenting the black liquid’s soul” she smiled proudly. She had just randomly made that poem up; her inspiration was coming back. For good.

Wu Ying Jie is a chain-smoking, poetry-writing, intellectual caffeine- junkie who always wears black. Poetry is basically her life, and she’s willing to victimize everything to right a good poem. Her parents are extremely rich, and extremely agienst her isolated lifestyle. She always wears brand names, always wears black doctor Martens boots, always wears a black beret, always wears black nail polish, refers to herself as a tormented soul, and randomly uses French words in her sentences. She loves to discuss society and philosophy with her teachers during class, and is loathed by almost all her classmates. Unfortunately, her inspiration starts to disappear when she starts crushing on major playboy Aaron Yan, and unfortunately she knows exactly what to do; she has to start chasing her new muse, who carries all her inspiration to create poetry.
Aaron Yan is a rich, popular playboy that goes to an exclusive private school. Together with his friends, his girlfriend and her friends, he often makes fun of Ying Jie, though he secretly feels bad and admires her intelligence. One day in a bar, he catches her alone in a corner writing poetry while drinking Irish coffee, and decides to talk to her, and tell her about his so-far terrible and extremely boring life. After that, he can’t stop thinking about her, and even Hebe starts to notice a change in his behavior.
But will to so different people, of two so different lifestyles ever be able to stay together?
What if their parents oppose it?
Or if a face from both of their pasts returns, ruining their relationship?
And what happens when Ying Jie gets accepted into an Ivy League school in America [duh…], which she has dreamed of ever since she was a little girl?
