the wingless dragon.
Description
every time he moved, he had to start anew. he had to begin from the very beginning; make good first impressions to his future classmates and if he was unlucky, learn a new language. he was sick of moving, but one boy changed it all. yifan would go anywhere around the world for him.
Foreword
chinese characters swirled about his mind, causing his brain to throb due to the information overload. he could see the characters being written, by according to the order. his eyes burned from excessive usage, well, he had just survived another all-nighter of continuous studying.
screw him and his gift with languages.
the lanky boy let out a deep sigh, rubbing his temple with fingers that were coarse from playing basketball. as much as yifan loved the chinese part of his family, he detested having to learn cantonese. not only that, he had decided to bring upon the task of learning mandarin for the sake of understanding his cousins who spoke that dialect.
sure, yifan was known for his multilingual tongue but it was like that old saying, "jack of all trades, master of none." he could speak in the languages he was studying but he wouldn't be able to divulge into old classics such as shakespeare or the such and be able to comprehend every single word.
honestly, yifan was sick of having to move around every damn three years.
