Vampire Hunter. That is the job description of Kwon Yuri. People can laugh all they want in this new age, but this job… this is the job that made him rich. It might not be known but there are a lot of powerful people willing to pay for those devils.  In this business the name Kwon is trusted, His parents.. Grandparent, Great grandparents their entire family is the best in hunting since late 1800’s.

 

Nothing can make him happier than what he feels as he snaps the hateful creature’s neck and burned them into ashes. That was his happiness, the only way to do his revenge.

 

He can’t help but to grit his teeth as he remembers the night that changed his whole life. Snow was falling that day, few more days and it will be Christmas. That year was supposed to be special; His daddy will be coming home from his assignment in Romania. It will be his daddy’s first time to meet his three year old brother amber, his mommy was really excited. But then…

 

“Yuri, hold your brother!” His mother was shaking; her face was pale as paper and her eyes were filled with fear.

 

“Mommy what’s happening?” The little boy confusedly look up to his mother, the woman didn’t answer she just wrapped her children in a thick blanket and pushed them on the closet.

 

“Mommy! It’s dark in here! I don’t want!” Yuri started to be teary eyed.

 

“Yuri be quite!” his mother snapped at him, she glared at him as if she was about to hurt him.

 

Yuri began to sob.. His mother’s face soften when she saw her child tears.. “Shh… Baby..” his mother caress his cheek  “ Mommy is sorry, okay..”  The mother tried to smile but it didn’t come out right… she looks like she was trying to hold her tears.  “Yuri, always remember this. Mommy and Daddy love you, we both love you and amber with all our heart, you know that right?” Finally her tears fell..

 

The boy nodded, but the confusion in his face got worst.

 

“Good.” She wiped her tears..  “Mommy needs to do something, I will leave you here for the mean time.. No matter what happen don’t go out. Wait for me; I will go back for you ok?”

 

“Will it take long?” The boy asked innocently. “I'm afraid of the dark”

 

His mom patted his head, “No it won’t be.. Be brave Yuri, You’re the big brother… you need to take care of amber, don’t make him cry.. ok?”

 

Yuri nodded again, even though he can’t understand his mother.

 

“Good boy” his mother kissed him and his sleeping brother.  They heard a loud bang from the door outside. His mother looked at him one last time… before she close the closet she grabbed a pair of long object wrapped in silk linen.  “I love you” The woman smiled at her kid as she shut the closet door and lock it.

 

Through the tiny hole, Yuri’s eyes widen as he watched his mother unwrapped the long object and it reveal two sharp blades, his mother expertly maneuvered the blade as if she’s dancing.. Again there was a loud noise heard from below... Even Yuri can hear the foot step on their stair case..It became louder but slower.. Yuri saw a tall but pale man opened the door. At that point Yuri felt fear as the man maliciously smiled to his mother.

 

“Ah… It's lovely to see you Madam Kwon?”  The unknown man gave out a chilly laughter.

 

“What are you doing here… Get out of my house before I cut you into pieces.”  His mother replied.

 

“Brave…but…foolish…” the man smirked “Just like your husband… Brave man that Sir Kwon, but it turned out that he can’t walk the talk..”

 

“W-what do you mean?!”  His mother yelled at the man.

 

“I’m sorry for your lost …” The man gave out an apologetic face, but it quickly changed to a big smile “But for what it’s worth, I should tell you… the blood of your love is the finest! Not a drop wasted!”

 

“YOU MONSTER!” his mom attacked the man with the two blades on her both hands, for a moment Yuri can’t see anything but some shadows and sparks… it took several minutes when the man and his mother suddenly appear. The man on the floor with two blades on his chest.. Black liquid was escaping from his wounds..  As his mother sits on the man’s body.

 

“Mommy..Won” Yuri thought… He was scared but the realization gave him relief. But suddenly blue flames spread through the man’s body it was coming from her mother’s swords..

 

“Mommy! Get out of there! You will burn!”  Yuri Shouted, and Amber starts to cry.. “Mommy!” Yuri placed his crying brother on his side and tried to open the closet. But it was locked from the outside. “MOMMY!”

 

The next day…It’s all over the news how the residence of Kwon’s burnt into ashes.. And how the two Sons miraculously survived the big fire…  That day Yuri was kept by his Uncle. And that’s the day he was forced to grow up immediately to protect himself and his remaining family.
