Chapter 23

Yong opened his eyes as the beam of sunlight finds its way and scattered itself across Yong’s room.

“Goodmorning.” Doojoon said smiling, leaning across Yong’s bed and calmly eating his sandwich.

“I don’t remember hiring a personal alarm clock Doojoon. Please close my curtains, the sunlight’s ..”

“You’re going to be late for school. I noticed that you haven’t slept well last night so I thought of waking you up today, just in case you’ll oversleep.”

It was true that Yong hasn’t gotten any proper sleep last night. As the days pass, his two week’s almost up.

“After this week and the week during our school trip, it would be two weeks already. And after that, I’d have to let go of Hyun.” Yong thought to himself.

“What are you thinking about? I know something’s bothering you Yong. What is it?” Doojoon interrupted, walking around Yong’s room and idly looking at his things.

Yong walked out of his bed and took his towel.

“Nothing’s bothering me.”

“Yeah? I haven’t heard anything about –J.J. recently, it’s a bit odd; don’t you think?” Yong was taken aback by Doojoon’s statement.

Yes, it has been almost every day that –J.J. has made their lives miserable.

“I haven’t heard from him.” Yong answered.

“Well, that’s good. Isn’t it? But somehow I feel something bad is going to happen Yong. You should be careful, as well as Hyun.”

“Thanks man.”

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

Hyun looked up and wondered who would knock on her door this early.

She’s still busy preparing for school. She hurried to her door as she tried to put on her shoes on the way.

“Yong!?” She said, quite surprised.

“Hi.” Yong said, smiling at her and looking cute.

“What are you doing here?” Hyun asked as she walked back in front of her mirror.

“I would like to ask if it’s going to be okay to walk with you to school?” Yong answered, entering Hyun’s room.

Hyun paused for awhile and looked back at Yong who was now sitting in Hyun’s couch in front of Hyun’s mirror and looking up at her, hopingly.

“Yes, of course you can. I would just have to finish this first.” Hyun said and continued powdering her face.

“Don’t look Yong!” she continued.

“Why? You look pretty with or without that either way.” Yong simply complimented her.

As they walked to school, Hyun could not help but wonder why Yong suddenly came to her room that early.

“Yong, are you okay?”

“Hm? Yeah. Why?”

“I – I was just surprised when you suddenly came to my apartment today.”

“Oh. You don’t like it?”

“Huh? No of course I like it. I enjoy walking with you to school.” Hyun answered honestly while blushing.

Yong looked at Hyun and did not answer but only gave her a smile.

“Oh? Hyun, Yong? You’re together…” Hyo shouted the moment Hyun and Yong entered the classroom.

“Yeah.” Yong simply answered.

Last to reach the classroom was Sooyoung who was with Siwon.

“Hi Soo!” Hyo also shouted as Soo entered their classroom after she said her goddbyes with Siwon.

“It’s sad that my boyfriend’s not studying in our school.” She continued as Sooyoung approached her and Hyun.

“Hi Hyun.” Sooyoung said smirking at Hyo.

“You should ask Doojoon to transfer here.”

“I can’t do that. Don’t you ever get tired looking at each other Hyun and Soo? I mean I’m talking about Siwon and Yong, of course.”

“No, not yet actually.” Soo answered jokingly while Hyun grew quite.

“What’s wrong Hyun?” Hyo asked.

Hyun looked at Yong who was talking with their other male classmates.

“That’s what I’m worried about too Hyo. I know we just started liking each other. Yong and I. But I read online that men easily get tired in a relationship. I mean, I’m not saying that we already are in a relationship but you know, I don’t have any idea about all “this” thing and then I had to think about my parents. I don’t want to disobey them, but there are a lot of “what ifs” right now. I have always been the good girl and I really really like Yong and..”

“Wait! Wait! Wait!” Hyo interrupted Hyun, noticing that she has been stressing about all these.

“Breath. Breath. Breath. Okay, I didn’t know that you’ve been piling all these up Hyun. You didn’t tell us all about all those.” Hyo continued while Soo simply looked at Hyun surprisingly.

“I’m sorry if I’m overthinking things. I just can’t help it. I’m always used to things being handed down to me and right now, making my own decisions, I’m just scared. A little bit.”

“Hyun, there’s nothing to be scared of!” Wait let’s start with Yong. What did you say about him awhile ago?” Hyo said.

“Well it’s about what you said. You know getting tired looking and seeing each other every day. I mean, I read last night about stuffs and about guys and..”

“and? What made you think that Yong would get tired of you?”

“Well Yong went to my apartment this morning to walk with me to school.”

“isn’t that great?” Sooyoung chipped in.

“Yes. But what if after a little while, he gets tired of going to school with me or walking home with me? You know those kinds of stuffs. I’ve read that men does this things at the start and just when women get used to them doing it, they get tired of doing it and eventually leave us girls hanging or worse, heartbroken...”

“Hyun… In my opinion, there’s nothing to worry about. Yong’s not like all the other men out there. Yong’s not the romantic kind and seeing that he’s being a romantic with you only means that you’re one special girl. And most likely, he would not get tired of you that fast. I don’t even think that he would get tired of you, ever.” Sooyoung explained again.

Hyun looked at her with grateful eyes then remembered something,

“Soo, I’ve always wondered how you knew Yong so well.” Sooyoung was surprised with Hyun’s question remembering that Yong wasn’t able to tell Yong about their past.

Hyo and Sooyoung looked at one another with inquiring eyes.

“Uhm, Hyun, what about what you said with regards to disobeying your parents?” Hyo quickly change their topic which made Hyun look sullen once again.

“Yeah, about that.”

“Go on?”

“My parents wanted me to meet a guy.”

“WHAT?” the other two shouted in unison which made their other classmates look at them, including Yong.

Yong’s eyes met with Hyun and Hyun quickly looked away.

“What are you talking about Hyun?” Soo asked.

“Well isn’t that a good thing? You’ve already met a guy. Yong, remember?”

“No. It’s not good because they have this guy and they want me to meet him. He’s also studying in our school, they said.”

“More chances that it’s Yong.” Hyo supplied.

“Yeah. Out of hundreds of male students in our school, it could be Yong!” Soo added, sarcastically while Hyun simply looked gloomy.

“Does Yong know?” Soo asked again.

“No. Yong doesn’t know.”

As Doojoon entered their room, he noticed Yong already home.

“Oh you’re home early.” Doojoon said

“Yeah.” And Yong answered with that.

Doojoon looked at him worriedly and paced around their apartment.

“Uhn, Yong, Hyo’s going here today.” Yong stopped looking at his laptop and looked at Doojoon.

“Can’t you go and date somewhere else?”

Doojoon simply smiled coolly at him and said,

“She’s not coming here for me.”
