All I Want This Winter Is You
Day – 2 cont.
Joonmyun’s car was nicer than mine. I used to think that my job paid pretty well, but now, I was kind of wishing I had decided to be a doctor instead. Although, to be completely honest, I would have hated the structure involved in that job.
The restaurant that he took me to was actually one of my favorite first date spots, and it felt right, coming here with Joonmyun, even if it wasn’t a real date.
“The crab cakes here are to die for,” he told me as we were shown to a table in the back.
I nodded, having been about to say the same thing.
The part-time waiter, a high school boy named Sehun, looked surprised to see us here.
“You two know each other?” he asked, blinking away shock.
“Um…yes?” I replied, tilting my head in confusion.
“What a small world,” Sehun answered, stoic face breaking out into a rare smile. “Actually, you two are my biggest tippers here at this restaurant. Anyway, may I take your orders?”
I ended up ordering salmon and Joonmyun got the crab cakes.
Joonmyun waited until Sehun had delivered the mouthwatering meal before leaning towards me across the table conspiratorially.
“So, you come here a lot?”
“I wouldn’t say a lot,” I replied, shrugging. “Enough, I guess, and for some reason, Sehun is always working when I’m here. Why do you give him big tips?”
“He’s working here to pay his way through med school,” Joonmyun explained. “What about you?”
I thought for a moment, having never really considered my reasons. “He reminds me a little of myself,” I answered finally. “Ambitious. Passionate. The way I feel about music, you know?”

We were walking back to his car after lunch when Joonmyun turned to me.
“Are you on holiday too?” he asked.
“I don’t really have a work schedule,” I told him. “I write songs, so I work whenever I get inspired. As long as I get some good lyrics out once in a while, I’m permanently on vacation”
“No schedule?” Joonmyun’s eyebrows flew up, and a look of wonder came over his face. Actually, Joonmyun looked like the type of guy who never went without a schedule.
“It’s great,” I replied, smiling. “You should try it sometime.”
Joonmyun gave me a nervous look and followed it up with a noncommittal shrug.
“Actually, you don’t have any schedules today,” I suddenly realized. “Let’s go do something fun!”
“Like what?” he asked, biting his lip.
Oh, the poor guy.
“Let’s go to the arcade!”
“The arcade? We’re too old for that,” he replied, horrified.
“There is no such thing as too old for the arcade, especially at 24,” I replied, sternly, holding out a hand. “Car keys. Now.”
