INFINITE are a federal squad, sort of like the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) and they are deployed by the South Korean government to keep an eye on any situations, especially political (since the whole North and South thing) that may cause conflict for the country. They have to work undercover and everything is secretive;a whole lot of pressure is placed on them to keep the people safe even when most of the people don't know what's actually happening. 

Their most recent endeavour was with a drug smuggling, human trafficking and gambling ring, that had roots in the North. Imagine everything bad and stick it into that one syndicate and that is what the boys are up against. Prior to the fic, L falls in love with a girl, but it's too dangerous for him to have a relationship - as with the rest of the boys. So, to rule herself out of the equation, she runs away, practically disappears so that he doesn't have to constantly worry about her. 

Who knew though that it was the worst thing she could've done...

A/N: This is a new fic I'm writing for all the INFINITE fans out there to take my mind off my other fics because I'm in a bit of a writer's block. Inspired from their MV, the Chaser - I was just so caught up with the message of the boys saying they'll chase after the girl, even if she doesn't love him anymore. It was perfect for this idea. It was going to be a three shot but I fail at being concise so it might drag on to 6 maybe 7 chapters. Who am I kidding, of course this is going to be a ful fanfic....

Also, in this fic, the members of Infinite are in their early to mid twenties. L is 23. The OC character is 19.
