You walked into Wu Co. building and felt the condescending and jealous stares of all the female workers there.

“Isn’t that Huang Xin Lei?”

“It’s just despicable how she could even marry President Wu.”

“Wasn’t she just his secretary?”

“How did someone like her manage to seduce a person like our president?”

“What’s so great about her? Do you see the way she dresses?”

“She really has some skills…”

You sighed inwardly as you decided to ignore their comments and press the elevator button.

The elevator pinged and you stepped in. You chose the floor that led to Kris’s office and peered out the elevator. “Are you going to come in?” You asked as you looked at a couple of workers standing on the other side questioningly.

The man you recognized to be the mail delivery-person answered. “No, we’ll wait for the next elevator, Mrs. Wu.”

You blinked. Is this how it will be for now on? You wondered to yourself and shrugged. “Suit yourself.”

The elevator closed and took you up to the top floor alone.

Although Kris had told you not to come in today, you felt a slightly bad for neglecting your duties as his secretary and decided to come in to work for the remainder of the day.

You would never tell him this, but you were really thankful for him making breakfast for you and Tao. To be quite honest, it was probably the most proper breakfast you had ever had. Tao never stepped foot into the kitchen unless food was already prepared and you never cooked unless you had time. And let’s face it, you never had time.
