Tao’s POV

“Ge, thanks for everything, but I’ll take it from here, the doctor will be here soon anyways.”

Lay looked at me.

“Are you sure?” He asked.

I nodded.

“Go back to your room and rest. I’ll have Sehun call for you if I need anything.”

He sighed.

 “*Hao le.”

He walked over to the desk and grabbed a pen and a sticky note.

He wrote something on it and walked over and handed it to me.

“Don’t wait for Sehun to call me. Here’s my number. You call if you need anything.”

I nodded again.

Lay smiled.

“Take care of her, Tao. Kris will be here any moment.”

I looked at him.

“But I didn’t—”

“You didn’t call him, and neither did I.” he quickly cut me off and gave me a look. “But do you really think that Kris wouldn’t know about what’s going on with his wife?”

He emphasized that word. It made me cringe a little inside.

He was right.

Lei was not only my sister anymore.

She was somebody’s wife.

Just as Lay opened the door to leave, that angry bird barged in.

He quickly ignored Lay and I as he ran over to Lei.

“Aish. Huang Xinlei. How can you not take care of yourself?” He softly scolded.

I looked away.

Now that Lay pointed it out, I could see it.

I looked at Lay.

He gave me the I-told-you-so smile as he waved a quick bye before leaving.

Quietly, I went over to the couch and sat down, watching him.

He held tightly onto Lei’s hand as he stared at her face.

His usual arched eyebrows were now arched to form a frown.

He was quietly scolding Lei for being careless and not taking care of herself.

I realized that I was grimacing as I was watching him.

That was my job.

About half an hour later, the doctor arrived telling us that Lei had fainted due to fatigue for not eating the entire day which added onto the strain that she was already feeling from her ankle.

The doctor finished up telling us to let her rest and give her lots of fluids as well as light, non-greasy foods when she wakes up as he wrapped up her ankle.

“… And make sure you let her have lots of rest.” He reminded.
