Already Taken

Pre-chorus

Taeyeon was sitting in front of the fireplace, drinking milk directly from its carton. She figured she’d finish it anyways so using a glass would be a waste.

“Something bothering you, unnie?”

She stared at the girl who sat beside her and shook her head.

“Don’t lie. You only drink milk when something bothers you. It’s your alternative for alcohol.”

Taeyeon smiled at Yuri. “Sometimes I think Yoona tells you too many things about me.”

“I’m a huge fan.” Yuri rubbed her palms together and blew on it.

“Cold?”

“A bit.”

“Come closer.”

Yuri moved and sat closer to Taeyeon gleefully while the latter chuckled at her antics.

“I meant to the fireplace so you’d get warm.”

Yuri blushed and moved away from her, blowing on both palms once again. “So…” she started, to get rid of the awkward situation that she made herself, “Is this about Yoona having a new girlfriend in the form of a sugar mommy, a super hot one?”

Taeyeon held her breath for a moment, wondering if she was that easy to read.

“I don’t blame you, unnie. She’s not acting like she was when she was together with Fany. She’s never acted that way before with anyone, come to think of it.”

The announcement this morning was still a shock to her and she’s greatly worried for many reasons but she couldn’t really state all of those reasons to Yuri.

“I want her to finish school and to achieve her dreams. That’s two things that I want her to do. Actually, that’s about it. I don’t wish for more. Just for her to finish school and make something out of herself and for her to be happy, of course.”

“You’re worried that she’s going to get distracted?” Taeyeon nodded. “You don’t have to worry about that, unnie. That’s what I’m here for.”

The older girl couldn’t help but think that Yuri was being sarcastic and it’s not helping her be less worried. “You two skip classes together.”

“Only when there’s absolutely nothing to do but seriously, now that she has an inspiration, I think she’d be more motivated to study and do well especially now that we’re approaching our final year.” Yuri stared at Taeyeon’s face and admired it. It reminded her of the Kims’ late mother.

“But that’s not just it, is it?” she asked with a teasing tone. “Answer me honestly, unnie. You’re worried that she might not be able to spend time with you because of Jessica, aren’t you?”

She nodded meekly.

“That’s cute. You could always hang out with me, you know?” Yuri nudged her jokingly.

“I wouldn’t want to disturb you and your boyfriend and be a third wheel. That would be awful.”

“I can make time,” Yuri stated confidently.

“Alright, I will call you when I need a drinking buddy. We’ll get drunk on milk.” Taeyeon grinned and put an arm around Yuri. The latter wasn’t even aware that she’s moved closer to the older girl again. It made her cheeks turn red for the second time that night.

Behind Taeyeon’s grin was a secret that concerned her and Jessica. A reason bigger than the two she stated to Yuri. It was about her ex-girlfriend who was now her younger sister’s girlfriend, Jung Jessica. She knows that the girl probably hates her guts even more now which troubles her a lot. What will Yoona say? How will she react to finding out that the girl she’s fallen for had a history with her older sister and that she was the reason why Jessica rejected her all those times?

“What do you think about Jessica-unnie?”

I know now that she won’t hurt my sister.

“She seems nice.” Taeyeon smiled sadly. She’s been doing it so often that it amazed her no one has noticed it yet. She wasn’t sure how long ‘til she cracks and tells someone about hers and Jessica’s past relationship.

“You know who she reminds me of?” Yuri asked but didn’t let Taeyeon respond and just continued. “She reminds me of you, unnie. You’re so alike. You’re both so secretive and it’s as if you both are hiding something all the time. You guys are mysterious. It’s y,” she mindlessly said.

“So you think I’m y?”

“W—your fans think you’re y. I’m a fan so I think you’re y, yes,” she rambled on.

The older girl shook her head at Yuri’s silliness. It’s been quite a while since she talked to her sister’s best friend like this. It was a bit short-lived since someone interrupted their peaceful conversation.

“Unnie, Yuri-unnie,” Krystal called.

Yuri turned around and saw Krystal carrying a game console on her arms.

“Where’d you get that?”

“I saw it in our room. Let’s play. I’ll set it up.”

Taeyeon stood up and said, “I’ll go take a nap and leave you two to play or whatever.”

When Krystal thought no one would notice, she side-eyed Taeyeon’s retreating figure.

“What was that about?”

“What?”

“You’re giving her the look…the eye.”

“You’re imagining things, Yuri-unnie. Maybe you’re hungry.”

She wasn’t convinced and she knew what she saw. Something was up and she intends to find out what it is.

“Look what we’ve bought from the store nearby,” Tiffany yelled, disturbing the quiet atmosphere in the house.

When they finished dinner, Tiffany dragged Kai with her and went out, saying that they were going to find something for all of them to do. Everyone looked at the lanky guy struggling to carry the bags containing god-knows-what. Youngbae stood up and offered the panting guy a help while Krystal laughed and murmured, “Weakling.”

“I don’t drink,” Taeyeon quickly said once she saw the contents of the bags. Chips and alcohol.

Tiffany grinned and picked up a bottle, swinging it in front of Taeyeon. “I bought Baileys Irish Cream. You love this, right?”

Teayeon pursed her lips. The kid got her. It was the only alcoholic drink she’d enjoy gulping down. Dammit!

Tiffany asked the two guys with them to move the coffee table so they could lie down on the floor. She told Yuri to grab a few shot glasses and after much complaint, the latter gave up and do what she was told.

Krystal sat down the couch and placed her legs on top of her sister’s lap. The older Jung pushed it off but Krystal just kept on placing it back so Jessica got off the couch and sat beside Yoona who was sitting on the floor.

“For Yoongie, Tequila Rose.” She handed over the bottle to Yoona but Jessica grabbed it from Tiffany instead.

She looked at it and at the bottle that Taeyeon was now holding. They both like drinking liqueur. “Don’t drink too much.” She placed the bottle on the floor and leaned her head on Yoona’s shoulder.

“Why are you being such a killjoy, unnie?” Jessica stared at her younger sister. “You don’t want Yoona-unnie to think you’re too clingy now, do you?” The younger Jung checked Taeyeon’s reaction and just as she expected the latter tensed up. She looked at her sister and she knew she’d gone too far so she chuckled nervously. “Too soon?”

Everyone, save for Taeyeon and Jessica, were clueless and although Yoona was curious to know what the younger Jung was talking about, she didn’t dare ask. She wasn’t going to be the inconsiderate girlfriend.

“Way to ruin the mood,” Tiffany said while she passed around the glasses.

Taeyeon poured herself a glass and reached for the ice bucket which made her touch Jessica’s hand instead since the latter was trying to do the same thing. “Sorry. You go ahead.”

The younger Jung used her cute voice to catch her sister’s attention. “Unnie, can you sit with me? I miss my unnie.”

“Is she getting possessed by some evil spirit or something?” Kai whispered to Tiffany.

“Nope. That’s not possible. She’s the evil spirit herself.”

Jessica sighed but complied and sat beside her sister on the couch. Yoona moved and leaned her back on the couch, arm linked with Jessica’s calf. The younger Kim looked up and smiled sweetly at Jessica.

“What else do you want to do besides damage our livers a bit?” Tiffany said, chugging down her beer. Krystal thought she was being unsophisticated, chugging the beer like she’s a trucker.

“How about we play the ‘Send-Kai-home’ game?” Yoona and Yuri couldn’t help but chuckle at Krystal’s childishness. “Rules are we just have to piss Kai off and send him home crying to his mommy and we tell him to walk back home. That sounds fun!”

Jessica knew she should've stopped her from talking but she was too preoccupied in observing her. She definitely doesn’t like Kai which means…

“Tell us more about your stupid ideas. We’re very impressed with how you show your idiocy,” said Tiffany.

“Yoona-unnie and Yuri-unnie think it’s funny.”

Tiffany rolled her eyes and suggested a real game wherein they have to raise their palms and state something which would then result in the players folding a finger if the statement applies to them. Everyone agreed and Krystal did too, albeit, begrudgingly.

“Let’s start with our resident sour-puss,” she grinned at Krystal, “You go first, Krystal.”

“If you’re a , fold a finger.” Krystal smirked and directly looked at Kai. The guy slowly folded his thumb.

“Spoiled brat, fold a finger.” It was her sister who was giving her a disapproving glare.

“She should fold a finger, too!” Krystal pointed her finger at Tiffany.

“Fany, she’s right.”

“Yoong, what the hell!”

“Just do it so we could move on.”

So she did and it was now Yoona’s turn. “If you don’t have lady parts, fold a finger.” She could’ve stated it differently but the comment was intended for Youngbae who’s been nothing but a ‘’. Yuri shook her head and gave her a glare that’s similar to what Jessica gave her sister earlier. If Yoona hadn’t seen that, she would’ve said something along the lines of, “Youngbae, why did you fold a finger?”

“If your name’s Krystal, fold a finger.” It was Tiffany.

Then, it was Kai’s turn and his target’s obvious. “If you major in chemical engineering, fold a finger.”

Krystal huffed since she already has two fingers left. Taeyeon unintentionally made her fold another one. “If you’re taller than 160 centimeters, fold a finger.” Everyone folded except her.

Yuri was going to end the game and even though she saw Krystal’s pleading eyes, she just couldn’t pass up on the opportunity of seeing her get a punishment.

“What’s the punishment though?” she asked first.

Tiffany who was only thinking about making Krystal’s life miserable blurted something out. “Loser gets to kiss me.”

Everyone got confused but all of them ended up laughing, except for Tiffany.

“That surely is a punishment considering how much of a horrible kisser you are.”

Realizing her mistake, Tiffany crossed her arms and pouted, cursing up a storm.

“That’s hardly a punishment though,” Yoona stated, hinting something that so far, only she knows.

“On the contrary, Yoona-unnie, that punishment is too horrible. I’d rather walk outside wearing nothing than to do that.”

Yuri shrugged. “Okay then. If you are super hot sugar mommy’s younger sister, fold a finger.”

That resulted into a game over with Krystal losing. Due to Jessica’s protest about not wanting her sister to walk outside -, Krystal did the punishment wearing her undergarments and she did it for ten minutes. It was really cold outside and when she came back, her nose was red and she was sneezing every ten seconds.

TheJung sisters ended up in a bundle of blankets with Jessica hugging her cold sister.

They continued with the game and the punishments got more difficult and sillier because the players were getting more intoxicated by the minute. Everyone ended up receiving a punishment at one point.

Taeyeon, one of the unlucky ones, got the melted ice from the ice bucket poured inside her shirt and onto her bare skin.  Kai had to drink a concoction that Krystal made and only she could know what was in it. It seemed to worsen Kai’s stomach ache. The rest had less harsh punishment because it wasn’t Krystal who thought of it.

By the time they finished their game they’ve eaten all the chips and drank half of the drinks they’ve bought.

“I feel like I’m pregnant. My tummy’s so big,” Krystal slurred as she her belly.

Yoona and Tiffany were the only ones who seemed sober since Yoona didn’t drink much, as per Jessica’s request, and Tiffany’s alcohol tolerance is just extraordinary. Jessica, who told Yoona not to drink that much, drank most of the Tequila Rose and was now in the verge of passing out.

Youngbae was throwing up in the bathroom near the kitchen while Kai was busy vomiting his liver out in the bathroom near their room. The younger guy was puking because of an upset stomach and the older one saw him which disgusted his squeamish self.

Yuri kept insisting that she wasn’t drunk and the same goes with the younger Jung. They kept bugging Taeyeon to sing this song and that song. Taeyeon had her eyes closed but was holding up a brush that served as her microphone. Yuri and Krystal decided to entertain themselves by singing and dancing on top of the coffee table.

The less intoxicated girls quickly pulled them down before they fall off and hurt themselves.

“I’ll take Krystal, you take Yul,” said Tiffany, assisting the younger Jung to her room.

Yoona turned around and motioned the drunken Yuri to get on her back. Yuri jumped on her back which almost made her lose her balance. She cursed and held on to Yuri’s arms that were wrapped around her neck.

She went to Yuri’s and Youngbae’s room and put the girl to bed. She then returned to the living room and rummaged through the grocery bags. Just as she expected, Tiffany did buy pills that could alleviate their headache the next day. She grabbed one and a bottle of water then put it on the bedside table for Yuri to take once she wakes up.

She checked the room across and saw Tiffany and Krystal cuddled up on the bed, looking serene which was very different from when they’re both awake. They should get drunk more.

She checked the bathrooms and when she saw Youngbae and Kai passed out on the floor of their respective bathrooms, she decided that it would be best to just let them sleep there. She also placed a pill and a bottled water on the sink for them to take the next day, just like what she did for Yuri. She repeated the same thing for Tiffany and Krystal.

She sighed at the sight of her sister sleeping on the floor and her girlfriend dozing off on the couch.

Taeyeon moved her hand and knocked out the bottle of Baileys. Yoona quickly picked it up and grabbed a couple of tissue to wipe it. It was a good thing it didn’t tip over on the carpeted part of the floor where Taeyeon was resting. She went back to the rooms and grabbed a blanket and two pillows.

She gently raised her sister’s head and placed a pillow below Taeyeon’s head. She shook her sister’s shoulder but she barely responded as Yoona placed the other pillow on top of her, which the older Kim then hugged tightly. The younger Kim put a blanket on top of her sister and tucked her in.

Before lifting Jessica up to the room, she tidied up the messy living room first.

“Yoong,” she heard Jessica muttering in her sleep and it made her smile despite being very tired looking after her friends. She crouched down and placed a lingering kiss on the older girl’s forehead before carefully lifting her up bridal-style. She carefully laid her down on the bed then lay down beside her.

It didn’t take long before she drifted off to dreamland.

---

“Yoong, can you please stop showing Youngbae how much you despise him?” The two were sitting on the couch and both of them were staring at the still sleeping Taeyeon. They were the first ones to wake up that day.

“I’m dropping hints. Hints that I doubt he’d get because the guy is just plain stupid.”

“He’s not that bad once you get to know him.”

Yoona looked closer at her sister’s eyes and found out it was partially opened. “Thanks but I’ll pass. Why’d you even get back with him?” She then waved her hand in her face.

“I don’t know. I guess I just didn’t want to feel left out now that you and Fany have other people to hang out with.”

“So you’re just using him?” Yuri nodded. “Well, I guess that’s fine.”

Yuri gasped and swatted the girl’s hand away from Taeyeon’s face. “Yoona, you’re not supposed to say it’s fine. You’re supposed to tell me that what I’m doing is a bad thing.”

“And sound like a righteous ? No, thanks, that’s Fany’s job.”

“Speaking of our she-devil friend, Fany’s being a pain in the ever since Krystal got here.”

“She likes her.”

“Who?”

“Tiffany likes Krystal. Yul, it’s so obvious.”

“Your definition of ‘obvious’ is different from mine then because liking someone does not equate to having the constant urge to run them over with a bus.”

“If what you’re saying is true then I probably don’t like you as a best friend because I have that constant urge all the time.” She got hit in the shoulder by her best friend but she just laughed it off.

“I talked to Taeyeon-unnie last night.”

“Ooohh, did your heart flutter like a high school girl who survived talking to her crush for the first time?”

“No,” was what she answered but the blush on her cheeks didn’t hide the fact that she was lying. “We talked about you. She worries about you because you at school.” She chuckled when she saw Yoona’s appalled expression. “She didn’t word it that way. She was being too nice but she is worried that you’d get distracted even more now that you’re dating sugar mommy Jessica.”

“Did you at least defend me and say that I’m going to be motivated to attend classes now because of Jessica just like a good best friend would do?”

Yuri nodded proudly. “She’s also worried that her baby Yoong won’t have time for her anymore.”

“That’s preposterous.”

“It wouldn’t sound as absurd if you put herself in her shoes.”

Yoona thought about it and she realized that she probably would’ve felt the same way. Yuri and Yoona turned their heads to the sound of the door slamming. They saw Krystal walking as fast as she could towards the front door, slamming it closed as she got out.

“Tiffany,” the best friends mumbled with Yuri following Krystal and Yoona heading towards the room that the younger Jung got out of.

Chapter 1: Hi author hahaha This will be my first time commenting. I just started reading your story and i like it already. I like your writing style but i still sometimes get confused on whose POV it is( I'm not sure if its because of how you write it or maybe because its my fault). Btw, i see you used the five stages but aren't those like stages before you die? We discussed that in our psychology class before. Oh well just sayin'. Please continue writing good stories!!! Don't push yourself too much if you can't update soon(I'm talking about your other stories coz you know , this is already complete)

Chapter 33: I'm sorry but I start to think that you must be one of Carmilla web series' writers, you're either jordan hall or ellen simpson. I mean I got all the Carmilla vibes in your story after I reread it again. and there's no way this was inspired by that web series because it came out way earlier than that. I read this years ago, and carmilla was only last year. Or maybe it's just me being obsessed with your works and carmilla.
