Kai+Kyungsoo centered, 490 words.

“Hyung, it’s cold.” Kai whines through chattering teeth as he wraps his five layers of colourful blankets even tighter around himself and Kyungsoo, who’s huddling together with him. Even though Kyungsoo practically radiates heat and warmth and sunshine, it’s the middle of winter, and not even he can do anything to stop the changing of the seasons.

“I wish we had a big big fire.” Kai burrows even closer to Kyungsoo. “Big big fire like Hawee Podder.”

Kyungsoo squishes the pororo doll even more between their little bodies and sighs. “Me too.” It’s nearly freezing in their shared room, but everyone else is unbothered by the temperature, mainly because they’re sleeping and nothing affects them in their sleep. Only Kris and Luhan are awake, Kris playing his violent computer game and Luhan trying to be all grown-up.

They watch with mild interest as sleepy baby Sehun stumbles past their room to go to Luhan. There’s a few muffled voices after that, then Luhan screams Sehun’s name and there’s a painful-sounding thud reverberating through their room. The sound of Sehun’s heart-wrenching cries follow.

“Oh no, Sehunnie fell.” Kai gasps, but neither of them make an effort to go see how Sehun’s doing.

“Oh no.” Kyungsoo echoes. He shifts a little so that the blanket covers them a little tighter. “Poor Sehunnie.”

Kai nods to agree and they sit in a comfortable silence for a little while longer until Sehun’s sobs subside and everything becomes calm once more. Then, suddenly, Kyungsoo flings away the covers, inducing a flood of cold air into their blankets.

“Hyung!” Kai whines in protest.

“Wait, I’m gonna go get something.” Kyungsoo darts out of the room quickly. Kai is left by himself, cold and lonely for the next few minutes until Kyungsoo returns with something in his hands.

“Whatchu got?” Kai pouts, still a little bummed that Kyungsoo hyung let all the warmth out and cold in. He draws the blankets closer to his chin and tightens them around himself. Their pororo doll peeks out from under Kai's chin.

Kyungsoo shuts the door behind him and glances around sneakily. Then, from his back, he takes out a pair of chopsticks.

“Hehehe. We can start a fire.” Kyungsoo cackles evilly. From a nearby shelf, he pulls out some of his homework and puts it in the middle of the room. Then, he starts to rub the two sticks together over the blank pages.

Kai just sits there gaping, because those are Luhan’s Donald duck plastic chopsticks.

“Hyung! Luhan gege’s sticks!” Kai tumbles out of bed hastily, dragging the blankets along.

“You’re gonna burn them!” Kai rolls over urgently to the place where a fire’s apparently gonna start. “Hyung!”

Kyungsoo gives Kai an evil, defiant grin over his shoulder and cackles even louder. “I know.” Then, he starts rubbing them together even harder, almost violently.

“Noooo!”

In the end, they go back to cuddling together like penguins, because Luhan’s chopsticks never ignite, and Kai liked cuddling better anyway.

Whew it's been too long since I've written Kaisoo :P I got his idea from tumblr as I was looking for childhood stories hehe. 

I'm gonna go swimming tomorrow I'm so excited ahhhh
