Introduction/background information (NEED TO READ BEFORE READING CHAPTER 1)

My name is Lydie, my parents decided to move from a quiet, humble little village in the South of England to the bright lights of Seoul city. I was only 13 years old. I had to leave my one and only best friend behind, I knew nothing about the move until three days before we were to board a plane into the unknown. I had always dreamed of moving to a big city abroad but I never knew that it would happen, especially at such a young age. I didn't exactly have an exciting life in England but it was quiet and free from hassle and that is what I liked. 
        My feelings towards moving stayed the same for years. I hated it and I hated my parents for not confronting me about it and asking me if I wanted to move. Until the day I started high school, my peaceful (and quite miserable life) took a strange turn.
