18:00pm Lam's mansion

Linda came home smiling after work with the invitation card and walked up to Ray's room. She took a deep breath before she had enough of courage to knock on the door but there where no answer with disappointment she turned around and was going to leave when she bumped in to someone and dropped the invitation " are you ok? searching for me?" said Ray and bent down to pick up the card.

Linda looked at him nervously " ha..no. eh I mean yes" Ray looked at her and laugh " yes for searching me or yes it's ok with you?" she swallowed before answering " yes for both"

Ray nodded and waited for her to continue with why she was searching for him but the only thing he saw was a nervous Linda who was scratching her head and tried to make the word in write order " you want to ask me if I'm free this Friday?" Linda looked at him with wide eye's " how did you know that? I haven't even said a word" Ray hold the card up " that's how I find out"

2008-04-07 09:00am A.C Lawfirm

Kevin walked into the pantry and poured himself a cup of hot coffee. With a smile he took a small sip.

" what made our lawyer Cheng this happy" Ada asked from the doorway

Kev smiled sweetly as he grabbed the coffeepot and poured the hot coffee into Ada's cup that she was holding " I'm going for a masquerade this Friday with Zhi Wah"

" seems that your starting are going smoothly" Ada said with a warm smile

"ah not really, she did pointed that we where going as friends only. But I'm happy that we are still friends after the last time" said Kev with some disappointment

"What have happen between you guys? What did you do last time?" Ada wondered

Kev shook his head and leaned against the bench "I made two mistakes last time, first I celebrated her birthday which I get to know that she haven't celebrate it for long secondly I kissed her and pointed that it was a birthday kiss"

Ada had wide eye's and looked at him in chock " wow! indeed you did some mistake last time you guys where out. Make sure you doesn't make any mistake this time"

Linda and the other employee was in the pantry and chatted about tonight's masquerade " I can't wait to tonight" said Sara the guys just shook their head " girls, but I'm also looking forward to tonight I really want to see Ms Sheh" said Ben and the other guys agreed " yeah, Ms Sheh is so pretty I can't imagine how she will look like tonight, do you guys think she already have a boyfriend?" said Patric

" Even if Ms Sheh doesn't have a boyfriend you guys doesn't have a chance so stop dreaming" Malena said when she walked in

"hahaha we where just chatting, don't take it serious. We go back to work" said them both and leaved followed by Linda and Sara

Malena looked at them and shook her head while pouring up a cup of coffee " Let them dream, a dream is a dream and it will never fulfil" said Cindia when walking in

"I just don't want them to have to high hopes, how many haven't she turned down in all this years?" said Malena and looked at Cindia who stirred suger and milk into her coffee

" yeah you are right, but this doesn't mean they haven't a chance maybe those before wasn't right for Ms Sheh. Don't talk about this have you find everything for tonight?" Cindia asked with interest

Malena nodded " yeah I have everything prepared, I think everyone have their things prepared. Let go back to work" and walked out from the pantry with Cindia followed

 Cindia and Malena came out  from the pantry and heard Sara scream"OMG! is this true?!" Cindia walked up to her " what's going on here?"

Sara turned around with the biggest smile ever " Ms Sheh just send this to every department, because of today's masquerade we just need to work for the half day!"

Cindia took the fax and looked at it, it was Ms Sheh's handwriting " wow, this haven't happen before"

19:00 Shangarila Hotel ballroom

Linda walked in cross armed with Ray they both had their mask on which all the other on the place had. Linda had no idea who the other where but from behind someone patted her shoulder " Linda, is it you?"

Linda turned around and recognise the voice right away " oh hi Cindia, wow you recognise me even if I'm masked"

" well you do look different from the front but behind it's the same" Cinda answered

"oh I see, let me introduce for you Cindia this is Raymond Lam, Raymond this is Cindia she is working in the same department as me"

Ray reached out his hand for a shake " nice to meet you" Cindia smiled and nodded " nice to meet you too"

Cindia looked at Ray and then back to Linda and asked " is this your boyfriend?"

Linda blushed " ha? he.." Ray interrupted " yeah we just started" Linda looked at Ray with wide eye's which Ray couldn't see as the mask was covering.

"oh I see, well let's go to the other they are inside" said Cindia and lead the way

" I really wonder when Ms Sheh will be here or if she is here already?" said Felix excited and looked at the entrance

" Felix you just put your attention on Ms Sheh, don't forget your date for today" said Cindia when she reached them

" yeah, Sara is really pretty today you should stick to her" said Linda and had her arm linked with Ray

" hey, we both are good friends she doesn't mind also she doesn't stick with me either she have been chatting non stop with the other guys here" complained Felix

Everyone laugh " oh, so someone is jealous" joked Linda

"well not everyone is as lucky as you who have a boyfriend by ones side" Felix teased

"Yeah I'm lucky not..." Linda couldn't continue when Felix attention was somewhere else " wow, look at her! I can tell she is a real beauty even if she have that mask on" said Felix with admiring

Everyone turned their attention to the entrance where a beautiful girl dressed in a light blue dress with discrete details which made the dress more fancy and expensive and outstanding, the hair was tied up to the side so the curl could fall naturally and beside her was a handsome guy with black suit.

Malena came and patted Felix on his shoulder " you change your mind very fast, didn't you just say you just has eye's for Ms Sheh now when you see this girl you are already head over hills"

Felix shook his head " who said that, I was just impressed that there where such a beauty in our company without I noticing. Still Ms Sheh is my target tonight"

Linda laughed and looked back to Ray and saw that his attention was still on the girl who know was in the middle of the room and was socialising with the others.

The lights turned downed and the spot light was spotted on the scene where a man stood " welcome ladies and gentleman, I'm the host for tonight so if there are anything you want to change or want to do please contact me, I have this red rose in my pocket so it will be easier for you to recognise me. Well we are working for a big  company so I think most of you doesn't no each other, one of the main reason why our company arrange this kind of function is for you all to get to know each other better so I have arrange a simple game of course there are people not from our company but they are fun to know as well. I won't tell to much about the game now but will be back later. Enjoy the night everyone" and the music started.

Felix looked confused " hey is it starting? but I haven't seen Ms Sheh yet, isn't she coming?"

Malena got out to the dance floor with her husband and just ignored Felix while Cindia followed her date to the other side of the room. Ray who has now his attention back to his company asked Linda if she wanted a drink and walked to the other side to get it.

20:30pm

"boop boop, excuse me ladies and gentleman I hope that everyone have had a great time so far at least I have. Now when we have been here for awhile I think it's time for my game to start. First I hope everyone here can go out to the dance floor with your other half, this game goes out to change partner when the music starts you dance with your own partner but when the song have changed it's also the time when you change partner and when the last song is played you are allowed to take your mask off and see who the other half is, to not mess up the whole thing you always take the partner on your left side. Let's begin"

Ray hold his hand out for Linda " may I?" Linda nodded, this was her first time to be so near him, she really doesn't want this moment to end she could be on this position for the rest of her life if she could choose, but good times always end fast it was time to change partner.

21:15pm

It have been more then thirty changes and Ray have had short conversation with every of them non of them made special impression on him and now it was time to change again to his surprise it was the beautiful girls time Ray had a feeling that he knew her, she do look alike Charm but he couldn't be sure " so are you working in KCL?" Ray asked.
