Prologue

“Hey aren’t you the new kid?” The bully Shindong came up to the little girl with two more boys standing behind him.

The little girl timidly nodded without looking away from her necklace. She was fidgeting a silver necklace with a ring strap through it, this was the thing she treasure the most.

Shindong was fed up with the timid girl who did not respond to him directly. He snatched the necklace off her and swings it around in his hand. The little girl finally averts her attention to the bully and she tried snatching it back but she was too short to reach.

“Give it back!” She shouted back jumping up and down to snatch it back.

Shindong took a close look at the necklace “This looks nice I’ll take it.” Before he could puts it in his pocket he was knocked down by another kid. Shindong fell hard on the ground on his back.

“Yiyun! You again!” Shindong angrily shouted at the short hair girl.

While Shindong was still lying on the ground as he had trouble getting up because he was overweighted. Yiyun stepped on him and snatched the necklace back.

“Aren’t you embarrassed that you’re bullying a little girl?” Yiyun questioned at the bully, she reached her hand out to the little girl who was quiet all long and pulled the little girl away.

Yiyun then handed back the necklace to the little girl and the little girl immediately puts it back over her little head.

“I’m Yiyun. What’s your name?” Yiyun asked.

“Soojung.” She timidly replied back as she stares at the ground.

“Soojung. Well let’s be friends from now.” Yiyun gave Soojung a friendly smile. She then led Soojung to the benches in the playground to where another little girl was playing with her teddy bear.

“This is my friend Jinri.” Yiyun introduced her only friend here to Soojung, Jinri then stood up and sweetly smiled at Soojung.

This is an orphanage, a place for kids without a family and doesn’t have anyone to take care of. Every single kid here has their own story of how they came here and a past that they don’t want to remember. Everyone here wish to be the lucky one that get adopted and receive more love. But chances of people adopting kids in this orphanage were rare. When the chance comes what would they do?
