Hi, my name is Hyuna, Kim Hyuna. I’m a senior and a member of swimming club in my high school. Whenever I swim, the male members of the club are chatting beside the pool and the topic is always about my body. They like to tease me, including my close friend. Well, I think him as my close friend but I don’t know if he thinks the same. Anyway, he’s Yong Junhyung, I only call him Jun. He’s also a senior but we’re not in the same class but we have known each other since the first day of the first year in high school, because we both joined swimming club at that day. Jun and I get along with each other well, we tell each other what we can.

To make things simple, I admit that I like Junhyung. We all know that you guys are reading and hoping this will be a beautiful love story. Admit it. You won’t be here if it’s about a friendship which I have too many to tell. Anyway, I like him but I can’t confess, I don’t have enough courage and he also doesn’t seem to like me more than a friend. Besides, I feel happy with what we are right now, I’ll let things flow naturally but… Life is so difficult that it won’t happen like we want. My little happiness begins to change into annoying feelings when she comes.... It’s Jiyeon. She’s a junior, she can’t swim but still join the club. Her personalities are quite… I don’t know, read and find out.

“Me? Be Jiyeon’s swimming coach?” I couldn’t believe what I just heard from the coach

“Is there anything wrong with that? You’re good at teaching and she wants to be able to swim” he explained

“Sunbae, I’ll work hard~” Jiyeon made puppy eyes

“But I want to use that time to practice freestyle…” I thought

“Fine… But I’m pretty cold-hearted so don’t think you can fool around” I sighed

“I got it, sunbae. You don’t need to act all tough like that” she smiled widely like I was joking

After a while of teaching her, we then take a bath.

“The next bus will be there few more minutes, it takes 30 minutes to have another bus so I’ll leave first. Go home quickly, okay?” I finished changing and prepared to leave while she was still drying her hair

“I’m sorry! Even though, could you not go without me?” she begged

“No. I am going without you” I told you, I was a cold-hearted person as I headed to the door

“Sorry for making you wait” she spoke when I was holding the knob

“You’ll go home like that?” I was surprised seeing her hair was still wet

“I wouldn’t want to keep you waiting!”

“Didn’t I tell you I wouldn’t be waiting?”

“Eh, what did you say, sunbae? Let’s go now~” she walked pass me to the door

“You haven’t gone home yet?” we met the male members at the bus stop and they were getting into the bus

“We were just talking and time just flew” Junhyung somehow appeared behind me

“I guessed lucked out” in my mind

“Did you just think you lucked out?” he whispered into my ear

“NO, I’M NOT” I exclaimed so that he couldn’t notice that I was blushing

“Hmm, fine…” he turned to other male members

“Ah, Jun, a whi…” I just remembered something that I wanted to tell him but Jiyeon’s sneeze cut me off

“Did you catch a cold?” he pulled my head to his side so that he could talk to her properly since I stood between them

“Ah, no, sunbae. No need to worry about me” she replied with a smile

“Well?” he turned back to me

“Ah, a while bac…” I couldn’t finish my statement because she kept sneezing beside

“Forget it. It’s nothing big… Bye, guys” I gave up and got off the bus since my house was nearest from school

“Life is so difficult…” I mumbled to myself on the way to my house

“Hello?” I picked up the phone without looking who was calling

“Hey, what did you try to tell me earlier?” Junhyung’s voice surprised me

“Jun? Where’s everyone? They got off that fast?”

“Ah, they decided to eat something so they got off after you did”

“Well, it’s nothing big but I got first rank in swimming test back then”

“Really?”

“You made fun of me about that. Apologize now!”

“Jesus, I guess I have no choice. Close your eyes and listen closely”

“Why should I cl…”

“Just do it”

Instead of hearing his voice, I hear a sound *chu* like someone’s kissing

“Ew, ew, ew, gross, gross” I turned back to my normal stage after few seconds of shock

“Hehe, you know me. It was a joke… Keep it a secret from everyone else, okay? They’re definitely going to come mooch” he laughed

“That’s true…” I couldn’t stop myself from smiling

We talk a little bit more before hanging up. I hold my phone tightly feeling happy. “I really like you” and just with that thought, I jog into my house just like a kid

{Few days passed}

“Woa, look at Jun. He’s really fast” “As expected of a record-holder at the meets” everyone in the club praised seeing Junhyung swimming

“I’m going to work hard too” I wanted to be praised like that, I was quite ambitious, you know

But when I’m about to jump in the pool, Jiyeon appears calling my name

“Right… I forgot…” I sighed disappointingly

While Junhyung can practice continuously, I’m stuck at holding Jiyeon’s hands to help her swim. I want to practice so badly

“Jiyeon-ah, do you want to take a short break?” I thought that I could practice a little bit if she took a break

“I can still go on” her eyes somehow were sparkling when I felt more disappointed

“That’s all for today” the coach announced

“I couldn’t get any practice time… Well, let’s stay and practice alone then” I told myself

“Hyuna, why aren’t you changing? Are you warming up?” Junhyung had finished changing and walked to me

“Yeah” I replied simply

“Have you lost some muscle in your thighs? Even though you really like muscles in your legs” the next thing I knew was Junhyung touching my thighs

“WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?” my cheeks felt hot

“How about I teach Jiyeon instead? You are obviously…” he suggested as my heart ached

“I don’t need your help” I left without waiting for his response and he just sat down on a bench nearby eating his snack and listening to music

“My time is gotten a lot of worse” I took a look at the watch after finishing a round as I got off the pool

“Hyuna sunbae!... I heard that you practice after regular practice…” – Jiyeon

“Sorry, but right now I…” I wasn’t in good mood

“Why don’t we…”

“Enough. YOU’RE ANNOYING. WHY DON’T YOU DO A LITTLE THINKING YOURSELF?” my anger crossed the limit

“Sorry, I’ll go practice by myself for a bit” she bowed and entered the pool alone

However, just when I turn away, she looks like she’s drowning. Before I can react, Junhyung runs from behind and jumps down to drag her up.

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING, IDIOT? GO CALL A TEACHER” he then shouted at me

I’m pulled back to reality and run out looking for the coach even I’m still wearing swimsuit and it’s snowing outside. When I’m back with the coach, I see Junhyung’s lips are on Jiyeon’s. I get paralyzed even knowing he’s just trying to save her. She coughs some water out and blushes right away after realizing what he did. He and the coach take her to nurse’s office to make sure while I’m just standing still.

I lock myself in a bathroom until I feel better. When I come out, everyone has gone home. Well, that’s what I think

“You’re so slow” Junhyung’s voice surprised me when I was locking the door of the building

“Wh... Why?” I couldn’t reacted properly

“Because you’re still here”

“No. I mean why did you wait?” I lowered my head

“Anyway, did you warm up yourself properly? You got frostbite didn’t you…” he pretended like he didn’t hear anything

“Hey, listening to me!!”

“Go on. I’m listening” he rubbed his neck

“Someone like me… Just leave me behind, okay?” I could feel tears were about to fall down as I turned away and was about to leave

“You’re freezing…” he pulled me for a hug

“Your hands are cold too” he held my hand and put it on his cheek

My gaze ends up at his lips as the scene back then pops out in my mind. My hand automatically retreats but he catches it in time. He then kisses my hand and let it stay there for a while. I don’t know why but the places he’s touched are warm.

“That’s nothing, Hyuna…” after that sentence, my vision was blocked and I felt something was on my lips

“Eh… Eh… Eh…” my body was shaking when he moved back

“It’s CPR. Because you looked like you were drowning… Or would a kiss have been better?” he looked evilly after that

“No way! No way!” I was trembling while he was laughing at me

{Next day}

I stand like a statue after I arrive and see Junhyung’s teaching Jiyeon

“After nearly drowning, Jiyeon’s been really afraid of the water. But she told the teacher she’d be fine if Junhyung was around”

“Ah, she getting all red. But I guess it’s no wonder she’d fall in love after that”

I hear some girls gossiping and standing behind me.

“Hyuna sunbae. Sorry for causing you so much trouble. I’m really slow…” I didn’t know when Jiyeon approached me

“I’m the one who’s sorry for all the harsh things I said…”

“No need to worry, sunbae. I was a bit afraid but… Remember I once told you that I joined swimming club because of someone. It’s Junhyung sunbae. I’m happy that I was able to get closer to him… Then see you later” she grinned widely before walking back to Junhyung

Looking at them chatting happily from far, I unknowing stare at my hand which Jun held last night but some boys soon distracts me by teasing me. It’s the first time I feel happy with their teasing. But I spoke too soon.

“Hey, today is the last day before winter’s break. Why don’t we end early and go somewhere to eat?... Jun, Jiyeon, are you coming?” one of them suddenly said loudly

“Hyuna, you must go. I won’t let you go” another boy hooked his arm with mine

I notice Junhyung’s looking at my direction, more likely staring at me so I turn away.

“I go, I go. Loosen your grip a little bit” I told the boy as he did and we walked together to the place first

If you’re wondering what I’m wearing, it’s uniform. I haven’t change into swimsuit and I don’t feel like swimming today anyway

After few minutes, Jiyeon and Jun come with the others. The two always walk beside each other of course. Even sitting, they’re next to each other, he’s in front of me. The boys keep teasing the two by pushing Jiyeon nearer to Junhyung when I just look at the table blankly waiting time pass quickly so that I can go home. I feel really uneasy right now

“I go to get another drink…” I was in my thoughts too much so that I bumped into the table which made a glass of coke spilled on the table and on Junhyung’s clothes.

And here we are again, Jiyeon carefully takes care of the dirt while I only can say sorry. I don’t know what my face looks like at that time, but when Junhyung looks at me, his eyes get widened. Yeah, right. Maybe he’s surprised because he’s the one that has dirty clothes but I’m the one who feel like to cry.

“Hyuna…” he called my name

“I’ll go and get something to wipe” I couldn’t stay there any longer

Finally, the time I want has come – going home. Only my house is om different direction compared to the others, I’ll go home alone which I’ll do gladly.

“Goodbye, everyone” I waved my hand then turned to the opposite direction

“Ah, it’s really gross with my shirt this sticky. I want to get a change of clothes… Ah, I think there’re a jersey in the club room… Hyuna, take responsibility and come with me” he dragged me away before everyone could react including me

“Hey, Jun. Didn’t you come here for a change of clothes?” I was clueless because he pulled me to the swimming pool

“Is your cell phone in your pocket?” he asked me taking off his shoes

“Huh, it’s in my bag on the bench”

“Then, whatever” he pushed me to the pool after giving me a smile

“WHAT ARE…”

“Clothed swimming, duh. I’m coming in, too” he was taking off his coat

“Ah… This feels so good…” he jumped in and swam like nothing was wrong

“It’s because if I didn’t do this, I’d never be alone with you… Back there, why did you make that face?” he stood in front of me and looked into my eyes

“That face?” I looked away from his gazed

“You smiled”

“I smiled?... Oh, I did… I just hate myself. That’s all. I realized that I was a bother and got depressed. Then it seemed stupid and laughable…”

“If you continue like that, it’s hard to get to the person you like and they just get further and further away”

“You mean…” I turned to him because of the statement

“Even now, what’s wrong? You’re making a face like you’re drowning again… Do you need CPR?” he smiled at me gently

“Uh…” I didn’t know how to answer as my phone rang

When I’m about to leave the pool to pick up the call, Junhyung caress some hair of mine and holds it lightly.

“Do it” I finally said it after hesitating for few seconds

“Come here” one of his hand was at the back of my head and the other was on my waist

Then he pulls me close to him and gives me a CPR. It’s just a CPR. I told the truth. I guess no one will believe me…
